Evra accuses Suarez of racist remarks | Suarez guilty of racial abuse

I can actually feel what Kenny and the whole of LFC and their fans are feeling at the moment: how can people believe completely what one person, who has some 'bad' track records said? :smirk:

Has Evra ever been shown to be a liar or a cheat?

He protested with his National team, that shows he's an idealist, I'd say that would support the idea he's honest.

That dust up with the Chelsea ground staff is about the level of a training ground scuffle, hardly a sign of a bad seed. My recollection is that Evra said he didn't make contact with the groundsman, and he was really confused when the verdict claimed he admitted the charge of striking the guy. I don't remember any discussion about why his testimony was considered unreliable, anyone remember?

I recall that Phelan or the other coach got some of the events mixed up chronologically, is that perhaps what was meant, the case was deemed unreliable rather than Evra, or did he mix up events as well?

My best guess for Klanish Kenny's unrevealed truth is that the FA have been wanting to make an anti-racist case against someone. Suarez gave them the chance.

Still want him asked the following:
You think Suarez tells the truth, so he apparently calls Johnson 'negro' in training - are you telling us that no-one in the whole club bothered to tell him this might be misconstrued?
With the obvious follow-ups based on reply.

The question I would ask KK is whether 'I don't talk to Blacks' is acceptable in Uraguay and if it is the case do Suaraz and Johnson communicate through sign language?

OK that "there's more that hasn't been revealed" line will give fuel to Liverpool fans to keep going with this.

Anybody read Suarez' mom's interview today where she alleges that her son may now be targeted by colored players? Or was it a spoof?

No its not, its from an Uruguayian paper:

Liverpool star Luis Suarez's mother: I'm worried black players will target Luis after FA ruling, says his mother - News - MirrorFootball.co.uk

"The truth is that I laugh when they call my son racist. Nothing could be further from the truth... I'm afraid now when he comes up against a black person, especially because they're going to go looking for him.

gooDevil, I'm really curious as to why we need to do something. What will it accomplish? Racism is a serious issue but wearing shirts or some type of symbol isn't really going to accomplish anything right now. Is there any incentive for us to act? Let the attention remain on Liverpool. In terms of PR, it'd be better off if every club did something but you wont see that happening.

My thinking is that when someone negative occurs that effects loads of people, people often do something to speak towards the event. If there's a large fire you'll hear more about fire prevention, if there's a murder people will speak out against violence. With this kid murdered in Salford, people there are talking about racial intolerance. I suspect there may be some sort of event or speech or something to speak on it, it's timely, people are focused on the topic now, you have their attention more than usual. If someone is hurt by rival fans, you might expect the team send out some sort of message.

I guess it's mostly the timeliness, I'm sure United have scheduled events for the kick it out campaign and they certainly do their part and all. Of course I don't want us to appear to be rubbing Liverpool's nose in this, there's no need to mention this particular incident, of course. And of course some spastics will make that claim, but you can't live you life in fear of spastics.

I don't care about PR in this instance, just that the club has the world's attention so it's a great chance to speak about something as vile as racism and add something to the cause of stamping it out. I don't know how effective the techniques are, but that's what we have in the arsenal.

Interesting press conference. Kenny's got to start talking to people from outside the Liverpool 'family', get a bit of perspective on this whole fiasco. It also confirmed that Liverpool do indeed have a PR guy. I had wondered.

I also agree that the less we do/ say as a club at the moment, the better. This has been a massive anti-racism statement, we've been dignified and clear throughout. Anything further would come across as cheap point-scoring.

We should have Nelson Mandella at the game as an honorary guest.

I can't believe they interviewed Stifler's mom...oh right, it's Suarez's mother...whoops.

Where does John W Henry stand on Luis Suarez? Martin Samuel | Mail Online

Martin Samuel ripping into John Henry with a vengeance. Once the snowball starts rolling in the US Henry will have to fire Suarez and Dalglish. There is just no other way after their latest statement of hatred.

BTW: Liverpool fans on twiiter using the #justiceforsuarez hashtag. Now they are even soiling the memories of the Hillsbourough victims. Absolutely descpicable.

It seems all the more despicable to take this line on the same day there was a verdict in the Stephen Lawrence case.

OK that "there's more that hasn't been revealed" line will give fuel to Liverpool fans to keep going with this.

Everything they've said has been for that. It's just complete and utter fabrication.

'There's been an injustice but we're not going to fight it.'

'There's other information that would help our cause but we're going to keep quiet about it.'

What utter twaddle. The lowest of the low. RAWKites will lap that up but they need to take a look at themselves for being that gullible.

Spot on, Liverpool are managing to successfully destroy their own reputation, quite impressive really that they are managing to turn themselves into the laughing stock of the football world

I agree with those who have said we should stay out of it. At the moment this is about the wider footballing community passing judgement on Liverpool and Suarez, the more we involve ourselves the more it'll be seen as solely a United - Liverpool deal.

After reading so much bile from the scousers it's fecking fantastic to see the press and even are rivals over at bluemoon slating them. I do wonder what they think of him calling Yaya a negro and I'd love to hear Yaya's thoughts on the matter.

Heh the irony of Liverpool trying to take the moral high ground in all this.

Dalglish: "I would have thought that, if you pronounced the word properly, you maybe understand it better. I think it was Spanish he was speaking and I don't think you were speaking Spanish there."

Such a childish behaviour.

I don't know how he can get away with making light of such a serious issue by being so flippant in his response. He really needs some kind of awareness training. Anti-racism campaigners such as Kick It Out must be seething at this

IMO the club should be charged with misconduct / bringing the game into disrepute or whatever would be appropriate.

If you're appealing fine, state your grounds for appeal. You cant not appeal while at the same time questioning the objectivity of the entire enquiry and everyone involved apart from Suarez, while claiming to be champions of the greater good.

You can't have your cake and eat it. If you want to criticise the inquiry, fine but put your money where your mouth is an appeal officially.

As I said yesterday I think both he and Suarez are working on the principal that they can now say what they like without any comeback.

The FA should demand that Dalglish tell them what he means by 'We know what's not in the report.'

If he can't or won't, he should be charged as you say.

I don't think there's any chance of the FA taking further action. The PL will want this whole SNAFU to go away as quickly as possible before their 'brand' gets damaged any further. They'll be putting all sorts of pressure on the FA to make that happen. I can't see the FA dragging it out any longer, just because LFC have acted like ass-holes.

I agree (unfortunately). Liverpool are like the crazy person in the corner who everyone just ignores because actually dealing with them is just too time consuming and pointless. Everyone just wants them to shut up.
