Manchester City vs. Manchester United

Has Hart seriously been rested? Surely he's got a knock?

If you pause at 44s, you can see downxandxout giving an enthusiastic thumbs up.

I thought I saw that Cleverley had actually started training already and that SAF WAS planning to use him today!

We'll see if this is mind games!

Ferdinand Jones hasn't worked but I think that is what the team must be. Rafael at Left Back and Valencia on the RW.

Giggs won't play and I don't think he should. I'm really not enjoying Park these days so I'd put Gibson in there with Carrick believe it or not.

DDG

Rafael Ferdinand Jones Evra

Carrick Gibson

Valencia Nani

Rooney

Welbeck

That's my team.

Subs:
Lindegaard
Fryers
Pogba
Anderson
Cleverley (if this is true)
Berbatov
Hernandez

Agree with all that, except you obviously meant Rafael at right back.

Maybe I'm clutching at straws, but this situation reminds me of the cup semi final against Arsenal in 2004. We went into that game without a few players, and were up against a team in the ascendancy, just like today. It was sheer resolve and determination that won the day, and we'll need more of that against City.

Injuries or not, it's time for the players that are available to stand up and be counted.

I'm hoping for:

------------- De Gea ----------------
Rafael --- Evans -- Ferdinand --- Evra
---------- Carrick - Jones ------------
Valencia --- Anderson ---------- Nani
------------- Rooney ----------------

Valencia, Nani and Rooney, that's the key - I sometimes miss 09/10.

Trouble is Evans isn't available, so Jones will have to partner Rio again, then who is left in the middle but Park or Giggsy?

We've faced with the same lineup as against Newcastle. That would be fine if we played properly, especially Rooney. If they double up on Nani and stifle his play, we have a problem again.

I told you lot to sort this https://www.redcafe.net/f64/touch-smallings-tonsils-346419/ out but no one did & now look...

Confirmed on SSN Paul Scholes has re-joined the Manchester United squad until the end of the season, and is on the bench!!

He scores goals galore, he scores goals

I am in shock. Utter shock. My body is shaking. This is brilliant news. Doesn't exactly speak volumes of our squad but feck it, it's Paul effing Scholes.

Scholes rejoins United

Paul Scholes has rejoined the playing staff at Manchester United for the remainder of the season with immediate effect, after approaching Sir Alex Ferguson to reverse his decision, made at the end of last season, to retire.

He has gone straight onto the bench for this afternoon’s FA Cup third round tie against Manchester City.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: "It’s fantastic that Paul has made this decision. It’s always sad to see great players end their careers, but especially so when they do it early.

"But he has kept himself in great shape and I always felt that he had another season in him. It’s terrific to have him back."

Paul Scholes added: "I’ve been pretty clear since I stopped playing that I miss it. I’m delighted the manager feels I can still make a contribution to the team and I’m looking forward to playing my part in trying to bring more success to this great club.”
