Manchester City vs. Manchester United

The same people who were moaning we had no chance in this match are now moaning we didn't beat them more convincingly!!

We've just knocked our opponents out of the cup, take one day off moaning and appreciate the victory the team just gave us ffs!

What did he say exactly?

Unhappy with the second half. Felt United gain nothing in the title race from a careless performance in which we made City look better by our sloppiness. Also not happy with the press and their coverage of Rooney.

I don't think anyone expected a clean sheet. And I certainly give credit to City for playing so well with 10 men. With 11 v 11 they had more of the ball, but we were more dangerous.

And their two goals didn't come from their brilliant attacking, the free kick wasn't a foul for me, and the 2nd was a mistake and a bad save, hardly City tearing us apart.

But City are a fine team and gets lots of possession. Kudos to them, and their money. I'm sure they'll get someone new and exciting in this summer as well, best of luck.

Shitty started very well, then we hit them on a counter, they got confused, we dominated, that caused them more frustration which resulted with Kompany seeing red. We dominated the first half after that but not the second half, which, considering that we had an extra player and 3 goals to spare should had been made quite easily.

Im not really entertained about Shitty. They've got some great players but their defense is nowhere near to ours (when its fully fit) and their lack of experience may bite their arses. However Shitty weakness should be our strength. We should have the experience to close the game and yet we allowed them to dominate the game for too much (in the second half)

There is many positives in this game. Rooney showed that he still wants to be a United player, Welbeck showed that he's a future great etc. However there are negatives too. The fact that we couldn't knock Shitty down when they were on one knee is one of them.

SAF himself said that we're lucky to ended up victorious. I agree with him

Some of this stuff is shocking. Some people not feeling great despite the fact we won. We've just beaten top of the league. Every single fan should be over the moon.

We made the second half very hard work , that why I said I feel deflated.
We were nearly made to pay in the second half for taking our foot off the gas pedal.

But I am happy we beat City and cup holder , too fecking right I am , just not happy about the second half

Dissapointed with the second half performance. Fergie was right to knock em down a bit regarding that half. Excellent first half despite some huge luck with the red card !
In the 4th round!!! Get in.

Mancini showed good subs and tactics in the second half. They had nothing to lose. United for whatever reason were never composed in the second half - there was an air of inevitability. A lot of this has to do with not having a captain who dictates our rhythm or gives a bollocking when the team switches off.

Hmmm quick summary; Brilliant Rooney goal after 10 minutes of citeh pressure ... justified red card for a two legged challenge from citeh's key player which in turn means citeh are short another "top" player for 4 games (to go along with the Toure's etc) ... and more good news; Nani still has two legs. Downside to first half; Ref is trying to "even things up" and Jonesy is proving he's probably a better midfielder than defender at this stage in his career. Fantastic confidence builder for Danny W ... best of him still to come I believe; clear penalty results in another Rooney header ;-) 3 - 0 ... as it should be!
All this followed by more refereeing madness. Never a free kick but once, a terrific shot catches Lindegarde giving too much space and gives cited hope. A second clear free kick, probably a penalty gets nothing from a ref who is having a shocker then one mistake later and it gets edgy.
This game should never have been close after the red card but one must remember it was a derby cup match, it was, not surprisingly, chucking to down in Manchester and it was, not the first time, a perfect chance for United made things difficult for themselves.
But there again, "There's Only One United! :-)

Looking at that Maciek I find it baffling Rooney said he only found out in the dressing room about Scholes' return didn't he think 'why the feck is Scholesy on the team bus in a suit?'
