Christ, some idiot makes a fake FB page and it's reproduced across 100 websites and newspapers before anyone even checks to see if it's real?!

I'm lost for words.

 Not that surprising really, authenticating claims or disputing them would mean actually doing some proper journalism!

Much easier to regurgitate unproven sensationalist headlines along with everyone else, than actually do a professional job of determining and confirming both the source and their info. If everybody's reporting it, then it must be true, so no point wasting time checking it! If it turns out not to be true, then you simply have yourself another headline at a later date, refuting the previous story! How can they possibly go wrong? No story in the first place leads to 2 sensational headlines. Not a bad return for absolute bollocks and little wonder no-one gives a feck whether it's true or not! :D

Might be a needs must sort of situation. But I agree, there's probably a twist coming.

We have Cleverley and Giggs on the bench, we don't need another midfield player for this game, the place could easily have gone to someone else. Maybe I'm clutching at straws.

Reckon he will come on again if we are leading by 2 or 3 in the 70th min or so

Yep, though there haven't been many occasions where that has happened in the past. He's been unfortunate in that most of the games he's been on the bench for, have ended up being pretty close right to the end.

 Why would they be pissed off at "their player" and client getting a bit of first team experience?

It'd be like that time I pissed off my dad by painting half of the house while they were on holiday.

If Collymore is saying it, then he's off.

Joking aside, this seems like very good news for us being able to keep him. Hope he gets on today as well.

I agree that it would be very strange to see Fergie still bother with someone who has his heart set on leaving. I would expect SAF under those circumstances to forget the player and plan without him. If there is no change with Pogba's situation, giving him some game time may be SAF's final attempt to change the kid's mind.

He certainly seemed to enjoy his last first team cameo against Stoke. A few more tastes of first team football in the PL, may twist the balance back in our favour. Footballers want games as well as money, if he gets more games here and shows more of what he showed in the Stoke game, his contract will be improved fairly quickly i would imagine.

It's definitely a positive step seeing Pogba on the bench, especially with the rumours of him signing a 4 year contract banding around.

I dunno. With no Cleverley and Anderson it could just mean Fergie's desperate to have a CM on the bench.

We've had plenty of games with no CM on the bench. Besides we got Giggs and Cleverly on the bench and Jones could switch to midfield if needed. Its a definite statement by SAF.

The sweet sound of optimism. I like it.

Tbf it's not optimism, just sense. I honestly can't see Fergie softening up so much to give a chance to someone who is absolutely nailed on to leave to another team without our wishes.

You're not seriously comparing Gibson and Pogba's situations, right? The apples and oranges phrase isn't good enough to point out what a shit comparison that would be. More like apples and bicycles.

It would be counter intuitive to have Pogba on the bench if he didnt have a long term future at the club. The only way we would play him is if we were a few goals up late on. Otherwise we have better options for the moment. Our job is not to help develop a player for Juve. Of course it may just be Fergie trying to tempt Pogba to sign

I've never really understood the rumors with regards to Juventus signing Pogba. Surely we would use the clause to extend the contract by a year if he refuses to extend it with us to force Juventus to pay up rather than letting him sign for Juventus for a nominal compensation.

The comparison is obvious. If you take a moment to think about it.

Danny Welbeck is really shaping up, I think. I've had a few doubts about him, but....

Brilliant player but his finishing needs some serious improvment...not strange really as he was just like in the academy as well. He is more or less the last person I want 1 on 1 with the keeper as he always tries to chip the keeper - and never gets enough pace on the ball

Seriously? He scored plenty for the academy. A very calm and composed finisher.
