Forget Hazard, we'll sign Sneijder this time. He'll be far far cheaper now and he scored 2 goals last week

Unfortunately he'll end up having another great tournament with Holland and his price will go up again.

And he's in his late 20s now isn't he?

Do. Not. Want.

Hope never dies :lol

He's also injury prone and wants crazy wages.. And I still dont think we were seriously interested in him for that long.
We probably asked his agent after Inter sent out feelers and were almost certainly put off by the demands.
The whole going down to the last day of the transfer window was media speculation.

I've put 50 quids a couple of weeks ago on Hazard to Manchester City this summer.

Only fools believe that he'll be a Manchester United player in a few months.

Unfortunately others don't have your inside knowledge of things.

That guy on twitter says Kagawa is a done deal.
Is he reliable..
works for 'xxx' means nothing.
Ian Mcgarry 'works' for bbc as a freelance journo who is on from time to time. And he knows nothing.

Who are you talking about?

The one mentioned on the previous page,

Julien Laurens ‏ @LaurensJulien
@Vik_manutd thanks mate. I believe Kagawa is almost a done deal

Hmm just reading his TL, he also says this regarding Hazard "Yes. United remains a big possibility".

By the looks of it City will get Hazard, United will get Kagawa.

Thing is I wouldn't have put it past fergie and his team to have done some math and worked out roughly what City have to spend this summer to stay within FFP. Let's not forget about those.

Hazard is a win-win for me, I'm not particularly fussed about strengthening in that area (he isn't a real CM for me), and so if we do sign him I would take that to mean that Fergie identified him as a really special talent whom we simply cannot let slip. If that is the case, our track record also shows that we aren't afraid to spend big for these players when they do come along.

On the flipside, CM is our priority surely, and if City do sign him (yet another attacking player) it just means they are unlikely to be making any massive signings for defensive players should they want to stay within FFP regulations.

Either way is a decent outcome for me. If he is that special a player in Fergies eyes then of course I want him, but otherwise we do have bigger priorities this summer. Martinez and Modric would be my top two.

Why do u all keep mentioning ffp? That isn't going to stop them doing anything.

Just look at Malaga / psg! They spent bucket loads, they don't give a crap

Chelsea and City face Europe ban: UEFA chief's tough warning to Premier League big spenders

By Rob Draper

Big spenders Manchester City and Chelsea have been warned by Europe's football bosses that if they splash out on players this summer they may be forced to cut back their Champions League squads - and even be barred from taking part in European competition.

Under UEFA's tough Financial Fair Play rules, applied from this season, clubs are allowed to make losses of no more than £36million over two years.

But with sanctions for offending clubs due to be enforced from 2013-14, City and Chelsea face an almost impossible task to reduce their losses to acceptable levels.

City reported a £197m loss last year, while Chelsea's deficit was £67.7m. With both expected to rebuild their squads at considerable expense this summer, their prospects of success - and even future participation - in the highly lucrative Champions league are looking bleak.

UEFA president Michel Platini is expected at the Etihad Stadium for tomorrow's Premier League title showdown between City and Manchester United.

Victory for City would throw the momentum back to Roberto Mancini's expensively assembled team but City know that both they and Chelsea could face exclusion from the Champions League if they do not change their ways.

Alasdair Bell, UEFA's director of legal affairs, insisted last week that serious sanctions will apply to clubs who miss the £36m limit by more than 20 per cent.

In the first instance, UEFA will force offending clubs to withdraw up to five players from their 25-strong Champions League squads for the 2013 competition.

Repeat offenders will face being thrown out of the Champions League from the following year.

Bell said: 'Sanctions need to be sufficiently effective and credible to make people abide by the rules. If we're not capable of enforcing the system, in a way in which makes Financial Fair Play a reality, then we might as well forget it.

'Clubs who maybe have made more serious and effective efforts to bring their own house in order will expect the rules to be applied to those who have not done that.'

City's transfer targets this summer include Eden Hazard, Fernando Llorente, Edinson Cavani and Luka Modric, while Chelsea, who yesterday signed 23-yearold Werder Bremen winger Marko Marin for £7m, are also targeting Hazard and Modric as well as Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The total value of those signings could top £150m.

Bell revealed that a new independent body called the Club Financial Control Panel, comprising lawyers and accountants, will be charged with enforcing UEFA's rules.

'The aim is to regularise and stabilise football finances,' said Bell.

'The sanctions system has to be tailored to encourage rather than punish. But if certain clubs are just ignoring the system, we are going to face legitimate demands from others to do something about it. This is a balancing exercise that will have to be carried out by the panel.'

Clubs will be able to complain to the new body about rivals they believe are breaking the rules.

While City appear to be banking on a reported £400m, 10-year sponsorship by the Etihad airline to make their debts more in line with the Financial Fair Play rules, that deal is already being investigated by UEFA because the airline is owned by the royal family of Abu Dhabi and City's owner, Sheik Mansour, is a member of that family.

Bell says the new panel will scrutinise such deals in the same way that the European Union Commission assess whether a country is providing illegal state aid to its own industry.

'We have to determine whether a sponsorship deal is genuine or a disguised capital injection,' he said.

Bell insists that even if one of Europe's blue-chip clubs, such as Barcelona or Inter Milan, were to fail the regulations, there would be no rewriting of the rules.

'That shouldn't happen,' said Bell.

'The Club Financial Control Panel will be independent and their sole task will be to determine whether rules have been respected and, if not, what sanctions should be applied.'

Why would you not want one of the most gifted young players in the world at United?
1) I reckon our transfer kitty will be 50m this summer like in the last years........Hazard's price will be probably 30-35m.
2) We need new players in other positions.
3) I prefer Kagawa (15m) + Hoilett (Free) + other CM (20-25m) instead of Hazard.
4) I'll get a lot of money if the Hazard to Manchester City will happen.

Unfortunately others don't have your inside knowledge of things.
Blah blah blah

I've won money because of the Podolski transfer and the Hazard transfer will be the next one.

Yeah well done on getting the Podolski transfer right. It takes special knowledge to get right the deal which was revealed in nearly every UK Newspaper about two months ago. Why don't your put money on Rodwell moving to us, btw?

So you'd rather win a bet and see a huge talent go to our direct rivals than have United sign him?

That's not at all weird.

Sean must be making millions with all of these bets he seems to win.

According to my informations.......Rodwell could be out for another 4-5 months if he needs a operation.

He's in Munich this week.

If he comes to us then of course i don't have a problem with Hazard.

But like said we need other players instead of Hazard imo.

If City don't sign Hazard then they'll sign a other player with big quality.

So i prefer the money for this transfer.

Sean must be making millions with all of these bets he seems to win.
I've won money with transfers and managers in the last months.

But i've lost money with this feckin football results (I hate PSG so much ).

Sean is so ahead of his time it hurts. You lot don't know how good you have it with his inside informations.

They have no chance.

Look at Chelsea. When Abra came and started splashing the cash they made £80M losses, and they announced their intention of breaking even within a few years. Despite winning the PL 3 times and consistently reaching the last stages of the CL that hasn't happened. Nine years after Abra's takeover, they made a loss of £67M last year.

City lost £200M last year. Madonna will be a real virgin before they break even.

Ps It's disappointing that UEFA are planning to introduce sanctions by stages. 5 players removed from a CL squad is a nothing punishment - it just gives offenders an extra year. And they've already gotten more than enough time. Very timid.

City have recruited the guy from fonejacker as their transfer negotiator.

"goooooooood morning Lille, we want Hazard, we pay you a lot of monies!"

Sean you do realize that this was again reported by the British Media here
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/rodwell-injury-ends-season-7631245.html.
Moyes has said already two weeks ago that Rodwell will go to Munich and he'll miss the rest of the season, the euros & the olympics so the article from The Independent today are old news for me.

Rodwell will probably need another operation and could be out for 4-5 months........that are latest news and this news aren't in the papers.

Whatever that is the Hazard thread!!!!!!!

The thing I don't get about these 'ITK' posters, is that if they genuinely were in the know about something they'd generally keep it to themselves for risk of pissing off the people they talk to in order to find stuff out. I mean, I know Rodwell's IFA, but even if he were to tell me something I'd never dream of coming on here and telling people about it.

That's because you're a selfish turd. Thankfully, we have good eggs like Sean, RedRichio, and Friendlytramp who are a little more considerate.

It's City or United, it seems and always has.

Will be hard to beat City to this one. We only need to offer something that is reasonably competitive with what they offer and we would get our man though.

Class signing whoever gets him.

I don't think we'll get into a bidding war. If it's down to money, they'll get him.

What is a bidding war really. They have a valuation of the player.. We match it. As stupid as City are can't remember them splashing over £40m on a player..

They did with Tevez (£45m I believe The Guardian investigation confirmed last summer) though that wasn't under Mancini's reign. But Aguero was pretty close I think.
