Which is why if both clubs were after him he would join United.

We win more.

You earn more money*

* If a player gets more salary at City, even double for the sake of argument. This is not representative of their total earnings. Image rights at United are orders of magnitude greater with us than with City. And the attacking players that get the limelight are the ones that you see on the cover of video games and the like, make a lot more money from their commercial rights than they ever will from salary. Until City have a global fanbase such as ours, Im not worried about being beaten on salary.

Really? City can beat any salary we can offer, by a lot. Which isn't to say we don't offer competitive wages, but city can and do offer stupid money.

Nope. Pogue suggested I was getting stuff on twitter. I gave him the opportunity to prove it. He can't/won't.

You already told us how you get all this stuff though. Don't you remember? Off some bloke you follow on Twitter. But apparently he only sends you the really juicy morsels by private message. Real cloak and dagger stuff.

As it happens I haven't been in contact with him for months. Again, I can give you his twitter and you can check for recent conversations with me. The stuff this summer doesn't come from twitter. Again, I'm happy to give you the info required to prove that. Regardless of whether it was him or not if it turns out to be right then you have no point. I've categorically stated before that I'm nothing to do with united. If I'm right I'm right, if I'm wrong I'm wrong. You can't rip the piss out of someone if what they tell you is right.

Anyway, as I said, I'm chucking stuff to stobzilla so we'll see in the summer. I said on here, long before it was paper news, that united were interested in kagawa and would not be signing gaitan. I also hold people about fletcher's illness first in here and that we were binning Morrison.

In the end, I'm right or I'm wrong, however I come by the information. Wait and see and if I'm more wrong than right then rip into me. Fair?

Yeah, over exaggeration but you take my point. Does he want to lineup alongside nasri, toure, silva, tevez and aguero or Rooney, scholes, giggs and park.

If he wants regular football then he'll choose the latter. United are more attractive then City on many fronts. We're more successful, we're lead by a manager who wont feck off if he hasnt won the anything in the next 6 months and we don't stock pile world class players just for the Lulz. We also tend to stick to a player for better or worse (take the patience we've shown towards Hargreaves as an example).

What Shitty offer over us is money. Unfortunately thats an important issue especially these days.

Now considering that United CM is weak then that should also act as an incentive.

I'm biased but I think he'd improve more as a player here and I think there's a more obvious need for him, bit city will be promising him playing time. I'd choose united every time, but I'm shit at football, not French and am not being offered a gazillion quid a week! I hope he'll choose us, I fear he won't.

I'm not ripping into you. I just find the way you're always on about "I heard" this and "I heard" that a little bemusing.

If you've got a credible source from within the club just say so and be a lot more precise about exactly what they told you. If you've been told not to pass the information on then don't. And that would include telling people by PM or continually making deliberately vague allusions to what you've heard.

The whole cloak and dagger stuff is a bit tiresome really. Like you said, if your information is sound you'll be proved right in the end. So what's with all the beating round the bush?

If Hazard think that he's got more chance of playing in a line up made up of nasri, toure, silva, tevez and aguero rather then in a line up made up of Rooney, scholes, giggs and park then he's an idiot. United are a bigger club then City, we're more professional, we've got a better manager, better facilities and we also have better supporters. We also need Hazard more then City do. If he moves to City it will be all because of money.

But we don't buy good players, right?

Or just someone so confident of his own ability that it doesn't matter who he has in front of him to displace.

In that case then he should go and sign with Barca. Great club, alot of history, he'll be well paid and he would live in a great city. It would be interesting to see him trying to put Messi on the bench though.

Ok, fine. Would everyone prefer me to say what I've heard just straight out? I don't mind doing that. I get my stuff from a mate from school who is now a scout (or football consultant as the precious cnut prefers to be called) based in the north west. He doesn't work for united but it's a pretty small community and they all just gossip amongst each other. I clearly can't give you his name. Most of what he tells me tends to be true. Some of it is catagorical, like gaitan, other stuff is just saying we have an "interest in the player" as he did with kagawa. I'm not bothered about posting it because he's usually pretty good.

Alternatively, if people would prefer I kept it to myself then I'm happy to do that too. Up up y'all.

i was optimistic, but i don't know now, the only thing we can offer is the chance to play for the best manager, at the best stadium, best fans and prestige name, established in europe (well not last season) and the chance to play as a starter.

City, can offer 2nd best in all these categories, but a shed load of cash. unfortunately we have lost silva and nasri this way, only the likes of berbatov, young and jones have come to us wanting to play for us first and then money second. i can't rememeber us winning many battles against chelasea, madrid, and barca in that respect, now we have city. :(

Are Barca interested in him?

Clearly City are...

He should wait until they are.

With all due respect but if works with that attitude then he's an idiot. I've seen better players then him, suffering career setbacks because they signed with clubs who didn't really needed them.

I think Hazard would only really worry if he had Messi, Ronaldo, Sanchez and co infront of him, hence thats why he's maybe coming England, but you never know, Fergie speaks french (i know he's Belgian, but that's a close second language for him), :D and the kid may have sense, after all he did stay at Lille to enhance his career. but it's hard to say no when City are willing to buy him, to stop him coming to us, like madrid and barca do.

I know I would.

I know I also wouldn't be bothered if not everything he told you comes true. You get rumours in every industry which turn out to be bollox.

Ignore the idiots and share your info mate.

SAF telling him he can make him the best player in the world should be enough to turn his head. He's done it before, you know.

The inner muppet in me just wants you to say whatever you've heard straight out.

So Fergie has traveled to a Lille match in France and Hazard has travelled to Manchester to the United-City match. Hmmmmm...... :)

Its all well and good buying Hazard, but the question is how the hell do we line up if we also buy Kagawa? Does he join our winger ranks of Valencia/Young/Nani and Valencia? Or do we play him as a 2nd striker behind Rooney?

Code:
[B]Player[/B] [B]Matches[/B] [B]Goals[/B] [B]Assists[/B] [B]Minutes per Goal[/B] [B]Minutes Overall[/B]

Hazard 35 17 20 173 2938
Nani 28 8 12 262 2095
Young 23 5 11 286 1429
Valencia 25 4 14 486 1944

You can't argue with his stats though! I'm starting to wonder if we'll drop down to having 3 strikers & Kagawa (Rooney, Hernadez, Welbeck, Kagawa) and then have 4 wingers (Hazard, Nani, Young, Valencia). Or would Hazard be thrown into the striker pile and play off Rooney?

Buying both Kagawa and Hazard would give Fergie a wealth of options, which lets face it, are quite important when you factor injuries/suspensions etc into the mix over a grueling league and cup season. It would mean switiching to a 4231 or 4411 with any combination of the followng:

Left: Hazard, Nani, Young
Middle: Kagawa, Hazard, Nani
Right: Valencia, Nani, Kagawa

Two strikers would become a thing of the past, Berba and probably Kiko moving on, and Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez, and Owen as our primary four.

It's not though, is it?

City currently have a better team than ours, although I feel we have better depth. Their starting 11 is superior by quite a bit in my opinion. This means they have a bigger chance of winning trophies next season.

How will it look to foreign players that we haven't signed anyone to improve the weakest part of our team in 2/3 years? Will he think we don't have the money?

City don't have the history that we do, but that can also work against us in some cases. Every player in the world knows about City now, they are a team that have come out of no where because of the immense amount of cash that has been pumped into the team. They are writing their own history now. A lot of players will want to be a part of that.

I can see where you're going with that but you cannot include Owen. He will be released come the summer.

Yeah fair enough. The fourth striker in a 4-4-1-1 may not see the light of day in any case. Much like Owen over the past year or two.

Does the quality of Ligue 1 skew those stats a bit?

Ligue 1 Goals: 868
Serie A Goals: 915
La Liga: 998
Premiership Goals: 1008

So either the Premiership has better attacking players and hence score more goals, or Premiership teams struggle to defend.

Lille who are 3rd have a GD of 28
Arsenal have a GD of 24

As an offtopic note, Real Madrid have scored 115 goals this season

Does the quality of Ligue 1 skew those stats a bit?
Not really IMO, the Ligue 1 is generally a very defensive low scoring league. There are many boring matches because teams are afraid to commit players forward.
A player having good stats in France nowadays is a sign of a quality player. There are obviously some special cases

So Fergie has traveled to a Lille match in France and Hazard has travelled to Manchester to the United-City match. Hmmmmm...... :)

It's all set up for a classic rom-com moment:

-Eden, I've made a terrible mistake. I've come back for you. I'm in Lille. I'm outside your front door. Come down an--
-You're what? But I've flown back to Manchester for you. I'm lying on your desk wearing nothing but training kit".
