Paul Pogba

I'm not even too arsed if we keep Pogba anymore, to be honest. He's got pretty extraordinary levels of talent and skill, but I've not really seen the drive from him on a football pitch to show how good he is that I've seen in the less talented Cleverley, say.

If you're going to dick about with a contract because of the amount of opportunities you've been given (if this is even the reason), then you'd better be damn sure that you try your hardest to impress when you're actually playing, no matter what level it's at. Pogba often ambles round a pitch when he's playing, and has the appearance of a man that considers himself too good to be playing amongst reserves.

I could be wrong obviously, but that's the impression I get. He may still sign the contract and turn out to be the player we know he can be for us (he is, after all, amazing at football), but his positional play is so lacking in contrast to other parts of his game that I'm not sure I can put it down to tactical know how and endurance any more. I was a lot more sympathetic with that possibility at one point, but that was about 4 months ago when even then the contract thing was starting to wind me up.

Yawn Morrison Gone, Pogba and Fryers maybe too.
Whats happening to United at youth level?
Are these kids too spoilt, demanding things before they've even made it?

Such a sad state of affairs.

Not much point in buying the best young players if they all leave before we ever give them any real games for the first team.

But if Pogba was really the next big thing, I think he would have gotten more starts this year.

Though I'll have to admit I was very excited about Pogba and Morrison and it's a shame that it looks like we'll lose both. Morrison turns out to be a head case and Pogba ultimately doesn't seem to care about United and fancies his chances of getting in Juve's midfield before ours, which does make sense, we've had a higher standard lately. Pogba isn't from England after all, and hasn't been with the club that long, hasn't shown much team loyalty in the past, such a player is less likely to want to sit on the bench for the sake of their team.

I wouldnt be surprised if he ended up at City over the summer after being offered crazy wages. Good riddance I say as even if he stayed he would have been demanding World Class wages as soon as he broke into the first team. Sign either Barkley, Tiote or Song or someone like that and all will be forgotten pretty quickly. Only players that understand what it means to pull on the jersey at this club please thank you.

It's a shame that this is another additional challenge that Fergie has to deal with. I'm just glad that we've stuck to our principles throughout all of this. I hope the boy signs but I'm finding myself less attached to the youngsters that dont seem all that keen on staying here.

I have always said with this ordeal, that if the boy is like this now, then what when/if he becomes a world beater and a shit load of clubs come in for him? If all the story’s what we've read are true, then the boy doesn't appear to have any loyalties what so ever with United, so maybe it is better that the boy moves on. Of course I don’t want him too, but I also don’t want him holding our club to ransom in years to come.

Not to mention his agent...

How many times has he left us now this year? Seven? Eight? I hope we get compensation money for all of them.

Well, it always looked like he was stalling until the season was over. How could any human being take so long to make up his mind?

The only thing that can be said is that it shows poor character on the part of the youngster, so maybe that's some consolation.

Read somewhere Riola or whatever sent a letter to Gill saying he is joining Juve.

"How convenient"

It happened during a live televised reserve game on MUTV, about 3 weeks ago.

Don't let boring facts get in the way of coming to wild conclusions or lashing out illogically at someone daring to make their own decision about their career.

If the Mail story is true - and to make up a story about a 'letter' is extreme, even for a tabloid - he has made up his mind.

He's entitled to go where he chooses. But it would've been nice if he hadn't led the club such a merry dance.

Bad news to lose this guy, our youth cup winning captain. Money talks these days though.

If he hasn't signed till now I think its looking more and more likely that he'll leave.

There's no reason for him to drag it till the end of the season.

Who says it's about money

I don't know what their group of central midfielders are like, but ours with the likes of Anderson, Cleverley and Fletcher absent often through injury and back next season, not to mention Scholes plus any signing

Perhaps this is about first team football and opportunity

If he stays, good, if he chooses to leave, fine, there have been young players with ability before him and there will be young players with ability after him

If he stays then brilliant as he is an outstanding prospect. If he decides to go its onto the next great midfield hopeful. We have a lot of good young midfielders and its always better to have players who want to be here

To be honest if there's one position a young talented player could hope to get games in our team it is central midfield, it's by far the weakest area of the pitch. If Pogba plays well then it's only Carrick in his way as a constant starter, Anderson and Cleverly aren't established at all yet, Scholes looks to be retiring and Fletch might not return the same player.

It's as good a time as any for a young player to break into our team in centre mid.

And Carrick's in his thirties, if he does go it's not for Footballing reasons. I'm not terribly fussed either way now with this decision, just wish he'd fecking hurry up.

I'm still holding you responsible for all this mess ArmchairCritic.
