In a well-ordered universe...
if Hazard picks City over us then we can forget about the title next season (and possibly the one after that)
Like when Ballack, ACole and Shevchenko joined Chelsea after the World Cup?

It's not just about money. It's about money and trophies of significance. He will only get the money part in any arab deal. Most of these young foreign players are bandwagon jumpers imo. Given the choice between a team who look like they are about to start a period of dominance due to financial superiority, compared to one whose period of dominace is under threat from that same financial muscle. Then the choice is likely to be where the money is im afraid.
We saw exactly the same at Chelsea. They had no history, no previous for being winning titles, yet what they did have was plenty of money and the potential to buy the best players about. That was enough to convince the likes of Essien, Robben, Cech, Mikel etc to choose Chelsea ahead of us. It has since enabled them to attract other big stars such as Torres and Mata, despite a fairly barren period.
Success may not be guaranteed at Chelsea, City or Utd, but huge wages are guaranteed more at their clubs than at ours.
How can another team be a lot better when we are on the same points?
You highlight the quote where I state that we have been blighted by injuries yet ignore it completely.
The games against City where thus..
Played with 10 men but didnt try to stop the rot. Tactical error. Hammered.
Played for a draw and left out our best winger. Tactical error. Narrow loss.
This has absolutely nothing to do with how good city are and I will defend my statement to the full that we have been unlucky this season not to have walked the title due to injuries. FFS we lost on a set piece at the Etihad without our best defense, If we had stayed 0-0 we would all be creaming ourselves at how incredible United are against the financial muscle of the Sheike.
Not sure you ever saw him play
Hazard is the type of game-changer that regularly came from the French Ligue 1 to bless the PL with their talent. He's a notch above the Drogba who moved to Chelsea

That's the nature of the beast im afraid. Had we won it we would be saying how great we were, but we have threw it away however you look at it. You can talk about our injuries, but they did not prevent us from having a 5 point lead with 4 games to go.
You make some good points, but it is also fairly easy to look at where we could have done better this season. We left ourself woefully short in midfield this season, and had Scholes not come back, City would have been out of sight by Easter. Unfortunately with only one DM and one 38yr old midfielder of any real quality, having to play them in every game has taken it's toll when it mattered most.
We blew this title after being unable to hang on to a 2 goal lead twice against Everton at OT. That is the disappointment for me, having it in the bag and letting it slip. We are still a good team but we simply have not been good enough, Europe tells us more about where we struggled, than the PL does this season imo.
2Bullish, injuries are never an excuse, unless the club is Chelsea and they lose out on the title to a rejuvenated United (circa 2006-07 I believe it was the press made all the noise about United winning only due to Chelsea injuries).

City have identified Montpellier's Younes Belhanda as a back-up if they don't get Hazard #MCFC #MUFC

Dude you make a valid point but ignore our problem again. We have lost our first eleven for the season. We have had more injuries than any of our competitors and it is this that has defined our season. Yet, we could still win it. Oh my.
I'm sorry cant agree with that statement. If you don't have your starting 11 on the pitch for the majority of the season and then lose on goal difference then I'll be damned if you can't use that as an excuse. We have one of the worst records in the Prem for injuries and if you do not think that has any influence then , with respect, I cannot argue with you.
No i didn't ignore it, but for me it was all too predictable. Vidic was the big miss and the only one that can really be seen as unlucky. Anderson is injured every year, Cleverley is also fairly injury prone and there were huge doubts over Fletcher's fitness. We lost Scholes, Hargo and O'Shea yet signed no-one. It is midfield that has cost us really, especially in Europe. Evans has been in great form this year which has helped us cope fairly well without Vidic.
For me it is the lack of protection in front of them, due to having only one DM midfield option for us this season. In a way we have been lucky in that respect that nothing happened to Carrick, or we really would have been fecked for any other viable DM option.
Man City would NOT be joint top if they were without Kompany for the season. Factual. Injury record aside, Vidic is a miss that cannot be ignored.
How do you know this, have we not spent millions in the transfer market buying young players with potential? The Kagawa thread has forumites arguing whether United should spend 7 mill on him, yet we spent 17 million on Jones. Using your argument then the Glazers (who don't give a feck about United) would be so inept as to underfund their investment so they lose money. Get a grip son, there empire as you call it, is Manchester United.
Why is every cnut on here spacegoating Jones? I cant stand shit like this its the absolute worst of a supporter to do this shit. The lad has obvious talent and potential and is only fecking 19. Everybody who singles out a 19yo as a bad acquisition after one season should be shot and burned imo.wankers!
I don't think anyone is doubting his potential, my question is if we can spend £16m on potential and around £20m on Young, then surely we can go the extra mile on putting some money towards a Hazard etc.

Predict? Give me a break, we lost both our DM's in Fletcher and Anderson.
How could we have predicted losing Anderson, Cleverley and Fletcher when they are the whole of our senior CM's. Then we lost Pogba as backup?
I couldn't give two shites about hazard, I'd be more interested in Kagawi. We have been unlucky this year with injuries across the board and it may/may not have cost us the title. Nothing more than that. We don't stop moving no matter how many threads it produces on this site.
If we can get Kagawa for 7m then I've no idea why we would even bother to go for Hazard anyway.
Did he say he was going to be wearing a blue shirt next season?

STFU I was outlining the fact that we spend on youth, don't bring up my posts to further your own agenda.
Bullish is talking a lot of sense in this thread here. Hazard may or may not come, but some are cynically writing off the lure of playing for Manchester United.
It's not cynically writing off anyone. It is pointing out the likelihood of players choosing City over us based on money. It happened with Chelsea, despite many of the same arguments being used in favour of Utd.
