At training for 'Little Devils' (Belgium) Hazard said: "It will be #MUFC, #MCFC or #CFC. Final choice depends on playing time + position..."

I think it's time to let the cocks out.

Thats City effectively ruled out then.

Why Chelsea? They have Mata, Marin, even Sturridge who plays on that position...

None of them is as good as Hazard although Mata is up there.

He isn't better than Silva yet but he could beat Nasri.

He'll play wherever he goes.

Well going by Di Matteo's formation at the end of the season, Mata flourished in the middle. Sturridge is now a squad player and with Kalou gone, it would make logical sense for him to choose Chelsea.

Maybe us, too. I've not seen much of Hazard at all, but is he honestly better than what we have? People on here are saying he's an attacking mid who can play on the wing, come in from the wing or what have you...

Is he genuinely better than Rooney, Nani or Valencia? Is he so good that it's worth sacrificing Welbeck's development and moving Rooney further up?

He wants to play behind the striker, not on the wing. That position is Mata's in Chelsea.

Also, why would he want to play for the team which was 6th in EPL, played ultra-defensive football in CL, and will be without by far best player next year (Drogba)?

Well he has already said he'd consider Chelsea, so that is all irrelevant. How do you know he wants to play behind the striker?

Its actually pretty funny in a way, the position he apparently wants to play in...well none of the clubs need him for that position really, City have more than enough cover to play someone behind the striker, Mata has the role at Chelsea and we dont really need an attacking midfielder playing behind a striker, we need a creative central midfielder. Maybe we should all just tell him to feck off.

I think it favours us tbh. Look how we dealt with Ronaldo. He started out as a right winger, but when he finished with us he played pretty much anywhere he wanted up top. (Free role). Hopefully the lad will see how much of a benefit playing for United will be for him and his development.

Who is Darren Can?
He seems to be well-connected in the footballing world... I've been following him now for about a year and a half and there were quite a few deals he called early and his views are usually quite interesting. Definitely worth a follow and one of those who does his tweeting without bullshitting.

I find it hard to believe a young player bent on developing and interested presictability would choose Chelsea now. Who knows who will manage them next and for how long? And thus, how and who they will play? There will be transition, that's clear. Not necessarily th best climate to find your feet. What they have, is belgians for the homesick, money for the greedy and an owner capable of sacking any manager rather than letting the manager sack certain players. And the lure of Londres.

He'd be guaranteed more games at Chelsea than here.

I'd say about the same. If he establishes himself then someone else has to sit on the bench.

With Chelsea he has to take into account that they have no manager currently and that the manager isn't the one making the signings anyway. So unless Roman Abramovich makes the next manager play him in a set position then he has no guarantee over where the next coach will want to use him. Also no guarantee that coach will be there too long.

Such as?

Bloody feck, seriously lads? First it was an argument about how much United should or shouldn't pay for a player, now it's how much we should or shouldn't pay a player if we sign him. Stop worrying about unimportant shit. If United offer him a contract for £110k, £150k or £500k it'll be because that's how much they think his signing will be worth. Why would fans like us give a shit?

Ps, i'd give him £111,988.57 and not a penny more.

I made a similar point over in the Leighton Baines thread were people are going off on one about how he has no resale value.

Why would we as supporters honestly give a feck about such things?

Leave it to the men in charge to determine that.

French media say Hazard wants Manchester United move, even if it means less money

http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/...ard-wants-manchester-united-move-even-if-it-m

We may rename a section of the website 'The Daily Eden Hazard' because it seems that everyday there's a new snippet of information suggesting he's closer to joining a certain club over the others interested. Sky Sports News today were still reporting today that Manchester United is his favoured destination and now some outlets in the French media are backing that up.
Le10sport.com, a major football based website in France, claim that Eden Hazard made a decision last weekend to join Manchester United. They cite relatives of the Belgian player as the source and say he was even ready to announce his decision to the wider world.
However, his agents wanted him to hold back as they were still negotiating deals with both Manchester City and Chelsea. Le10 claim that Eden Hazard is prepared to take a lower salary at Manchester United because it's where he wants to play.

Good sign

If he wants the number 10 role we can give him that. He can certain play with and rotate with Rooney in a combination with Hernandez or Welbeck. However, this would surely put question marks over signing Kagawa. I'm starting to think Kagawa is plan B if Hazard doesn't join us.

Belgium's coach says he will play Hazard at no.10 position. Also if he is looking for no.10 position, then it's hands down us who can give us that.

Massimo Marioni ‏@MassMarioni
And that 'position' Hazard is after, in case you were wondering, is the No.10 role, not out wide. Who'll give it to him? #mufc #mcfc #cfc

That is definitely us. Chelsea have Mata, City have Nasri, Silva and even Toure who could play there.

Yes we can, but Rooneys best postion is there.

If he wants #10 we'll be able to give him that. Chelsea could play him there but they already have Mata and for most of their games he's been stuck out wide.

Not really, Rooney in his lone striker role in 09-10 season was better than this years Rooney.

If we sign Kagawa then that role will be taken, no? Fergie is going all Football Manager on us it seems...

I prefer the 09-10 Rooney to last seasons too. Much prefer seeing him further forward.

Or Chelsea, is Mata better than Hazard? I can see Mata being deployed wide still and Hazard in the centre but surely he would want to know who is going to be their permanent manager and ask him his plans first?!

City are surely out of the running although I can imagine them promising him it I hope his ego can see through the fact he won't get ahead of Silva and he'll be competing with Aguero and Nasri for playing time.

So we'll have to change our primary formation to accommodate Hazard?

I know Rooney drops deep, but we still play with 2 strikers and he goes up when we are dominating.
It would mean us moving to a 4-2-3-1. I dont mind it.. not sure if Fergie would want to change it after all this time..

Chelsea have played a Christmas tree before, havent they?
They might go 4-3-2-1 with Mata and Hazard behind Torres... Its not like they are reliant on width anyway.

No opinion here, i just wanted to jump into the Caf's pack mentality and also, i've always wanted to use this gif. seemed like a pretty perfect opportunity

Agreed which is why I'd find it strange if we got Hazard and Kagawa. I think it's clear SAF is looking for a player to play #10 position, what he does if we get both I don't know.

Rooney was hit and miss for more of this season and yet still tied 09-10 in goalscoring, and probably had more assists to boot.

Has he even had that role at Lille? Most of the glimpses I've seen, he is in the wings or coming in from them. Does he expect to go from a wide player at Lille to a no 10 in united, city or chelsea overnight? I doubt that. Like I doubt Massimo Marioni.
