He's a very creative, industrious, midfielder. Best used as a link player between midfield and strikers but equally adept at creating from center midfield or out wide. His killer ball/through pass is fantastic and he's a very good passer of the ball in general. Very quick feet and good close control. Not a bad finisher either.

In some ways he reminds me of a very young Paul Scholes, with more pace.

I think he could well be what we are mising.

Well I'm of the opinion that we need a more mobile central defensive midfielder and any additions to our attack is a bonus for me. If I'm honest, I'd really like for us to sign Modric still.

Vidal, Modric or Martinez would be perfect for that roll, maybe even that kid M'Vila. However I still think we need a player of Kagawa's ilk.

Would add a new dimension to the attack, imo.

Interesting reading the reaction to this on other clubs forum, nearly everyone(including RAWK, arsenal mania, Bluemoon) etc saying its a great deal for us.

Very excited about us signing this lad, will be interesting to see how we intend on using him and how quickly he adapt.

Oh how I'd love it if he becomes a bigger success than Eden Hazard.

I think he is a better fit to what we already have. Hazard would have been a luxury but kagawa can give us something new

He will. I have faith that he will be one of those signings that justs fits in.

Subotic's girlfriend!

The most important bit is "The English had now stroking in Kagawa."

Who cares what they think? RAWK thought Carroll was a great deal.

Shinji Kagawa has moved a step closer to finalising his dream move to Manchester United with German daily Bild reporting the Japanese playmaker has agreed personal terms with the club.

United have been on the trail of the 23-year-old for some time, and having agreed a £17.6million fee with his club, Borussia Dortmund, on Tuesday they are now said to have agreed terms with Kagawa's agent Thomas Kroth.

Unconfirmed reports claim Kagawa will put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal with United worth an estimated £100,000-a-week, part of which will be made up of lucrative image rights.

Kagawa, who helped Dortmund to a league and cup double for the first time in their history, is back in his homeland, but is now expected to travel to Manchester in the coming days to formalise his move to Old Trafford.

United failed with an initial bid €18m last week, but with Sir Alex Ferguson identifying the playmaker as his No1 transfer target this summer, the club wasted no time in bowing to Dortmund's demands.

Ferguson travelled to Berlin to watch Kagawa, who cost Dortmund just €350,000 from the J-League Cerezo Osaka in 2010, in action a fortnight ago when he scored in Dortmund's 5-2 win over Bayern Munich in the German Cup final.

That display convinced Fergie that the diminutive star has what it takes to be a star at the Theatre of Dreams as United set about wrestling the Premier League crown back from "nosiy neighbours" Manchester City next season.

One man who is convinced Kagawa will be a huge success at United is Hidetoshi Nakata, who told Sport360° he believes his compatriot will eventually rival Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the world's best.

"Kagawa has everything in his game and can become as good as Messi and Ronaldo, provided he continues to work hard," said Nakata.

Kagawa netted 13 goals in 31 Bundesliga games for Dortmund last season and has been earmarked as the man to bring some"magic" back to United's much-maligned midfield.

A very exciting young player, he has a serious eye for a killer through-ball that the likes of Hernandez, Welbeck, Young and Valencia will thrive on. It will hopefully compliment Rooney's game too.

He just seems a better 'fit' than Hazard for some reason.

Exciting news. Reports that deal will be 'finalized' by tomorrow (fee of 17.5m pounds) and medical for kagawa on friday. Watch this space. Hope it goes through as planned.
Isnt he with his national side?

Just checked. They have world cup qualifiers on 3rd, 8th and the 12th.(jap, jap, aus)..

As a bonus, we are signing a player not involved with the Euros. I think that quite a bit of the future muppetry on the Caf will depend on the Euros. (Injuries, performance, etc..)

Will be nice to have this one done early.

Edit: No Olympics either for him.

Good signing. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the only one above £15m we get this summer.
