United Commercial Partnership Revenue

Crazy, the amount of marketing and sponsorship deals United have entered in the last 4 years.

Who said its only Park we keep because of sponsorship deals? Or is it we only keep Park for sponsorship deals.

Ah well, good for Berba

One of the byproducts of the Glazer controversy is that business aspects of the club which would have been ignored as boring in the past have become compelling reading for fans of the club. My degree in economics has finally gotten put to some use after all these years...if only in trying to figure out what's going on with the business side of the club.

I at least enjoy what you do GCHQ, and thanks for the updates.

Have they a link to this embarrassment on RAWK in retaliation for our one?

You'd never make it as a scouser, Sunny.... all those boycotts & e-petitions that you'd miss out on!

Good news: Epson has agreed a further three-year contract renewal to be United's official office equipment supplier

I was thinking yesterday that it had been a little while since we last heard about any new commercial deals, certainly after the stream of them that were announced at one time. Given there has been more invested in the commercial side of the club (wasn't the big increase in the wage bill at the time of the last accounts put down to an increase in commercial staff?) then I'm a little surprised it's been so quiet, despite the terrible economy.

More deals must be being worked on though, at least for renewals such as this.

So the new five-year deal with Chevrolet replaces the previous eight-year long agreement with Audi. I haven't seen any figures in terms of annual value but it's been described as a ''significant increase'' on what we were receiving from zee Germans.

What was the annual value of the Audi deal?

I just find the notion of posting on a football forum about the increase in revenue from a new deal which sees Chevrolet replace Audi as the sponsors of our substitutes seats, well, strange. Why would you bother?

This thread is dedicated to the subject, so why not?

Does this new deal mean Chevy logos on the seats on the 'bench'? Maybe the players will start pitching up to Carrington in Corvettes rather than A6s

What was the annual value of the Audi deal?

I never saw a reported figure for how much that deal was worth in the latter years (the contract was renewed several times since 2004). Based on similar second tier sponsorships I'd say it was worth £1.5m-£2m pa with the new Chevrolet deal being valued at £3m+ pa.

That makes you the strange man.

I'm quite happy to remain strange if that's the case.

An extra million pounds of revenue per year, it's nothing in the grand scheme of things, nothing news. GCHQ has a curious agenda with this sort of stuff, and I find it strange.

I don't see it as strange at all. The growth in commercial revenues is absolutely fundamental to the club's future in terms of gaining a competitive advantage over other clubs and sustaining a strong playing squad. I know stories like these upset the anti-Glazer fanatics, who like to pretend that our American owners have brought nothing positive to Manchester United, but that's half the fun of reporting and commenting on them. :)

I think its interesting gee, and it is important especially regarding the FFP rules coming in soon, we need every bit of extra revenue we can get.

I'm not commenting on the thread, I'm commenting on GCHQ's seemingly unhealthy interest in our finances.

But you'll acknowledge that this particular growth is worth precisely feck all really, right? It's not newsworthy.

I hope you're not suggesting that I'm in the anti-Glazer camp either, I'm not a fanatic either way. I'm just saying that you're obsession with this sort of stuff is strange to me - I just find it odd that any man can get a horn from financial crap like this the way you seem to.

Carry on anyway, I was merely making an observation. Whatever gets you off I suppose.

It's not ''nothing in the grand scheme of things, nothing news''. A £1m uplift on a sponsorship agreement, and it could well be more than that for all I know, is a perfectly significant event for a business generating £330m pa. And when you start getting that £1m-£2m uplift on all of your 10-12 (non-telecom) global second tier sponsors then it becomes VERY significant.

He's posting an update on a commercial partnership in the commercial partnership thread, I seriously don't understand your problem. If you don't want to read about this kind of stuff, simply don't open the thread.

It doesn't matter if the new deal is only a slight increase over the old one, it's a new deal and this is the thread where those deals are highlights and/or discussed.

Jesus. I don't have a problem. Just making a pretty casual observation is all.

Anything Glazer-related and GCHQ's all over that shit cheerleading and proselytising on behalf of our dear leaders. He has an obsession with them.

If he was an employee I could maybe understand it, but he's maintained in the past he isn't.

You all just play into his hands though, like play-dough. :D

In future just read the news & move on, that's what I do. I'm interested in our Partnership Revenue's and GCHQ's a good source of info on it, so I read his info and move along.

Cheerleading? :wenger: I was simply reporting the news and would have left it at that if someone hadn't ridiculously claimed that I was a strange man for reporting a new commercial partnership for Manchester United in this forum's commercial partnership revenue thread.

Not the posts on this page specifically. Your other posts, GCHQ.

You know, the ones that invariably refer to the Glazers' good works?

I didn't say you were a strange man for reporting a new commercial partnership for Manchester United in this forum's commercial partnership revenue thread. I said you were a strange man.

Anyway, this is pointless. I've nothing against what you do, I just find it strange - it makes me curious as to your reasons behind it. I just can't see how anyone could genuinely care that much without having a vested interest.

But as I said, whatever gets you off.

Five years huh! that's about 2 years longer than a Chevrolet lasts-

He's a glazer mole- well known fact!

I find any news that the club is expanding financially interesting, certainly more so than the "have you ever shit yourself in public" type threads. More revenue = less debt = no debt = world domination........simples

There's a thread on this subject on MEN. It has 292 comments.
