People going on about his age has made me realise that even our 'established' signings are now younger than me...

Saw him two seasons ago and thought he was absolute class, love that we're signing him.

Kagawa: I haven't signed yet

Borussia Dortmund ace Shinji Kagawa says his move to Manchester United won't be complete until he inks his contract.

The 23-year-old has stressed he is yet to put pen to paper on a contract with the Red Devils and is focused on performing with his country.

"The transfer is not complete for the time being. I have yet to sign the contract," Kagawa told Kyodo News after training with his Japanese national team on Tuesday.

"The team and I are fully focused on the next two games.

"It's better if we talk about (the transfer) after those matches. I want to focus on playing well over the next few weeks."

2 Ji-Sung Parks! We've got 2 Ji-Sung Parks! We've got 2 Ji-Sung Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarks!

Now, he has a song.

Kagawa kagawa wherever you may be, Glad you fancy history, could be worse, could be French, sitting with Nasri on City's bench!

Just wish the Kagawa bit sounded better!!! :(

"Shin-ji, wherever you may be"

and I think I prefer:

"consoling Nasri on City's bench"

:)

Kagawa seems more level headed and focused than the media whore who just signed for Chelsea.

Eating things that like to bark

Kagawaaaa! His name sounds like something Mifune would shout as he is charging someone with a katana.

But seriously, he looks like a player who will gel well with Rooney and Welbeck.

Dortmund fans are passionate in general and understandably upset, I've read about this particularly because Kagawa really bonded with the fans and previously professed a desire to build on the project there...But this happens everytime a player heads off to a bigger club

I really hate the word "project" in the context of football.

I'm talking about goals per game, average passing accuracy, shots per game, dribbles per game, amount of times they lose the ball per game on average and so on. So using the games he did play, not overall where the amount of games would be too significant.

Kagawa missed as much as 5 months with injury so had to come back from it in order to get his numbers. That'd be more harsh on your stats per game than being out for the season

:nervous: Signing from the Bundesliga with history of long term injuries???

When are the Japan national games?

There's a few every year I think, so you should get to see him play a fair bit in the next 10 years for them, I wouldn't panic Nick.

How highly rated is he in Germany and what do they make of United signing him?
Kagawa's rise has been nothing short of amazing, Ole. He was bought for a ridicolous amount of money (low!) and his reputation quickly enhanced after a superb run of performances before he was injured and when he came back from his foot injury.

The Dortmund fans are happy that he at least signed for United and wish him well. There are, of course, a few supporters, who are mad at him for leaving - the usual niff-naff -, but, overall, they aren't too angry as the already signed his replacement back in January: Marco Reus. Kagawa was a key member of Dortmund's best team ever and scored 21 goals in 49 appearances for BVB, winning everything domestically with the club.

I thought you were talking about the last season. Kagawa was injured the previous one (10/11). In the last season he made 31 league appear.

Why does that even matter? Wouldn't it make more sense to say, "I am awaiting the season so I can judge this transfer based on how he actually plays"?

It's a joke based on another thread!

This was the first thing I saw logging on to the Caf today. Nice start to my Internet browsing for the day.

From facebook:

Thanks to J.S Park that Asian player can play in O.T Welcome but try hard to bring the cup!!!!!!!

Welcme to olteraford !!!

Kagawa is only Giggsy's sub. We need a replacement for scholes

He's gonna SUCK big time. Just like JS Park and Berbatov!

Welcome to Mu,you have friend same with you:J.S.PARK,but idon't no same or no,thankyou

mr fergie please be serious buy player who is fit or united like sned or hazard

Why do people combine 'Asian' players in one category. Korea and Japan are two totally different countries with different cultures.

It's seriously cringeworthy and misinformed BS.
