You're saying this as if he's only ever played in friendlies. He scored a double against Schalke, a goal against Leverkusen, a goal against Bayern and a goal against Arsenal, all in seasons when these teams played in the CL knockout stage. It's not like he's been doing it against no-marks in the Bundesliga and a few friendlies.

There was never a comparison to be made between Kagawa and Allen. One is a 2x league title winner and current double holder... The other is a Liverpool target
What exactly has Bale done to ensure 99% of managers would pick him? The only big difference is in their profiles in the English game. Whilst people like yourself are only just about hearing about Kagawa, Bale has been hyped up since he was 18. That doesnt mean he's not a top player or that he isnt just as good as Bale.

He's a complete moron. What he said wouldn't even be true if you compared Bale with Downing. It's the kind of thing that's only ever true when you compare Messi or Ronaldo to someone like Matthew Etherington.

It's ridiculous to even mention Allen as a comparable signing to Kagawa, because Allen is comfortably a level below Kagawa. Just wait until Kagawa shows his class this season and the press will be talking about how we turned him into such a great player, finding hidden gems in little leagues when really he has always been a quality player in one of the best leagues in the world. Like Brwned said on the last page, it's just disrespecting the other leagues when people who only watch the prem think the other leagues fall way short of it, when that is just not true. Currently I'd say the premier league is only a bit better overall than the bundesliga, and if anything the transition from the bundesliga to the Premier league would probably be the easiest transition from any of the other leagues.
Tony V has been the apple of the caf's eye for 6 approx months. Prior to that he had been injured and prior to that average. Bale has been pretty class for at least a couple of years with more goals and assists than Tony

A small part of me wishes I hadn't seen our pre season. Now I have very high expectations of Kagawa. Looks a cracking player.

Anyway, can't wait to see Kagawa this season. He really looks like that 'spark' that we have been missing. Obviously not better than Bale though, as they are indeed 2 very similar players
This has got to be a WUM. It did take him a while to get going last season, but you can't expect anything else when he was coming back from a long term injury, being in and out of the team at the same time. He was very consistent throughout the 2009/2010 season.
Valencia is the definition of consistency, whenever he gets a run of games he generally ends up hitting form.

Interesting about the training sessions as he mentions how we train with the ball much more than dortmund. Think it does explain to an extent why we arent that great a team when we dont have the ball.

Sir Alex has also said that we've been tracking him for 2yrs now but he just wanted to see if Kagawa could replicate his good performances from the 1st season. Once he did, we went in for him.

I'd say that the Bundesliga is comfortably the closest match to the Premier League in terms of physicality (amongst the 'Big 5' leagues anyway). The impression I have from watching 5-10 Bundesliga games a year (obviously I'm no expert but y'know) is that making the move from German football to English football would be nowhere near as much of a culture-shock as moving from Spanish football.
If he was going to be adapted for use in a 2-man midfield domestically then I suspect he would have to bulk up, but like most people I'm of the view that domestically he'll play behind the striker in that 4-4-1-1 (or maybe on the wings if we have problems with injuries). He's already excelled in that position in the German league so I think he'll be fine doing the same here. In any case there are plenty of example of players coming into the league and excelling in those positions in their first seasons (Mata and Silva from the last 2 seasons).

That's weird though, it almost sounds like he had no idea who half our players were beforehand. I know he didn't follow us but I don't follow Dortmund and I still know half their squad.
To be fair, at the moment i dont think half the utd supporters in the world know who Brady / Veseli / Lingaard etc are.
Once the main squad start turning up im sure he will recognise a few.
He's fitting in excactly as I thought he would, on the evidence of pre-season.

We started very well last season with quick, directattacking play and lots of movement. It broke all down for some reason and we became too predictable and slow. Hope we will get back to where we were 1 year ago and bring some quick play and creativity in the final third

I"m sure barca train tonnes with the ball as well, and they are superb without the ball also.
