Gareth Bale is...The most expensive player ever?!

It's also not the first time he's had a cry about being kicked. When a player comes out and has a cry like this it just makes me think "that's how you get at him then."

If he needs protection and/or wants to complain about the challenge he should let his manager handle it.

There's no real difference between what's happened with Bale-Adam and Cleverley-Davies, expect for the fact that Adam did it twice. We were all calling for Davies head on here after the Cleverley tackle, rightly so.

Bale has every right to complain about it, Adam is a despicable cnut of a footballer who deserves to receive more attention for his tackles.

"We" the fans were complaining. You're right. Don't think I've heard a peep from Cleverley though.

I'm sure someone at the club did, didn't SAF?

You could argue all day whether a professional footballer has the right to openly complain about tackles on them, but Bale probably made that statement close after he was left with an injury from a dreadful tackle from a player who had done that to him before that, leaving him out for the remainder of a season. You can't really blame him for it.

Exactly. Leave it to the manager.

Infact, didn't I read something a bit a go (might have been in Nev or Scholes' autobio) that Fergie insists the players don't moan and whinge about physical games because once you get branded with the "they don't like it up 'em." tag then it's hard to shake.

Also journalists ask very leading questions of players in these situations. A lot of the time I get the impression the players were not intending to make a big deal about something, but they either answer a question or they are evasive, and if they take the former option then a story will appear that makes it look like they have been whinging.

So: "What did you think of the tackle on you today, Gareth?"
"I thought it was a terrible challenge."

Becomes a story along the lines of: "Bale has launched a blistering attack on Charlie Adam." You can be sure anything conciliatory he said will not end up appearing in the story.

On the other hand, if Bale hadn't pretended to be injured to get out of playing in the Olympics, he wouldn't be injured right now.

Also, he played the rest of the match, and isn't really injured now, either.

This is all very confusing.

Safe to say that Bale is a bit of a twat though - and Adam is a shite footballer.

It was an excruciating tackle on a bit of a cnut. Well in, Chad. Even if it were just because you're a clumsy twat who can't tackle moreso than malice.

Yeah, looked like the usual "I'm to fat to get back so I'll hack him" challenge, a tackle bred out of poor fitness as much of malice to my eyes.

I heard team G.B. decided not to risk selecting him...

For the avoidance of any doubt and on a point of absolute clarity and transparency - Gareth sustained an injury as he built up his fitness ahead of joining up with Stuart Pearce's [Team GB] side. MRI scan reports were sent to the FA medical team on 29 June.

"He was subsequently not selected on the basis of this injury and the inability to predict recovery time."

But he's not injured apparently, despite being injured before the olympics, and then injured again last night.

Maybe he's Bruce Wayne.

Doesn't sound right. He wouldn't take a place off Giggs, Richards or Bellamy. So who would you like there in the squad. A perhaps fit Bale or Danny Rose?

I'm thinking more along the lines of "Apeman".

His super powers, in addition to whining and simultaneously being injured and not being injured due to not being in the Olympics(or something), is of course having the ability to be regarded as the best footballer of all time after about one top class performance in his career. *

*Kind wishes to Glaston

Calling someone a coward for giving him a few kicks but will happily dived and cheat to win penalties himself.....

Calling someone a coward for giving him a few kicks ...

"A few kicks" is nowhere near an adequate description of Adams repeated attempts to badly damage Bale. He's a thug with a track record.

The chimp faced cnut definitely had work done his ears.

Probably. He's horribly overrated anyway.

Hew in the top 8 winger, or attaking wide players in the league I'd say.

Nani, Valencia, Mata, Hazard,Silva,, Kagawa, Young, Bale,

If you're including kagawa on that list than nasri is def better than young.

Knew I forgot someone.

He did get work done.

He only looks good when he plays against an shambolic Inter Milan team.

It's Reading, and a tap in. Don't get smug.

He has a hateable face, like Suarez.

Out of the three, Cleverley deserves it to an extent. Bale and Welbeck are overhyped imo.

Should actually correct that. Welbeck is overhyped by a select few United fans. Doesn't seem to have massive hype around him in general. Bale is overhyped by most fans.

Bale is overhyped but at least he'a done something at te top level. Clev is very highly rated by some and his weaknesses often seem to be overlooked at times.
