So the fact I see him make momentum killing mistakes and the fact the crowd groan at him and other players glare at him and a good section of the forum seem to be bordering on vitrilioc towards him; and he was dropped after beng utter shite aganst Everton and the club supposedly won't increase his wages to the top tier, none of this is relevant and he's amazing?
Rooney has glared at Nani, Berbatov, Ronaldo, Anderson, and pretty much every player who doesn't lay it on a plate for him. The only player he hasn't had issues with is Valencia, so I'd say the problem is more with Rooney.
Van Nisterooy used to shout at Rooney and Ronaldo when they didn't place it on his foot or head for a shot at goal, no?

Van used to have a go at Ronaldo if my mind serves me, no real memory of Rooney getting the vibes. Rooney is a lot less selfish than Nani or Ronaldo in my hilarious opinion.

I don't think Hectic called him amazing, in fact, I think Hectic is the one person here who gave the best honest appraisal of Nani from last night.
A good section of the forum and fans don't like Nani, it happens, sometimes certain fans don't warm to players. Ronnie also got a right load of shit here until he turned into a demi-god.

This is an odd response. No. I said that in all likelyhood it doesn't mean much when a player shows frustration at another player on the pitch. If you want to highlight it, fine, but it happens between so many players. It's not exclusively Nani who is on the end of a teammate's angry stare, it happens all the time moses. I wouldn't read too much into it is what I said, you've just lumped a load of other points I didn't comment or refer to in with my overall view of how reactions between players isn't a big concern. How did you work in the angle of the Everton match, that he hasn't been given higher wages, and that other stuff, from that post? I've quite clearly made one point in the post below, and now that's being turned into questioning all these other random things, and me thinking he's amazing without question?
Apart from that fact that more than one person was negative about his performance, the debate, as Hectic pointed out, is as much to do with how negative some posters can be about a generally produtive and exciting performance from one of our own players.
Nani's mistakes last night were no worse/frequent than those carried out by our other players(and his creativity and industry far outweighed those moments), yet people feel the need to brand him, based on that performance, patchy, and the performance a shambles. You'd swear they'd missed the 18months where he was incredibly productive and exceptionally consistent in his play as they rolled out the old "inconsistent diver" comments.
Nowhere will you see someone defending Nani saying that he can do no wrong, only frustration stemming from that fact that in a generally good performance some posters insist on highlighting the negatives.
English = my first language, so yeah oddly enough I do.

Van Nisterooy went at Ronaldo more than Rooney, yes. Rooney's wrath has covered many more players than Nani, I don't think it's much to look into, that's all.
Of course not, fans are hysterical. He was great that year, because he showed a solid improvement and developed his game. People liek that as much as stats. He won some games on his own that year.
Overall in hisn time here, I think for all his talent we don't get enough reward and he is as a result quite frustrating.
This year where we have a bit of guile in Kagawa I'm not so sure we'll be as reliant on Nani's bursts of genius. Time will tell.

Right, but an opinion is a composite. A composite of all I've seen since he signed. Those are the negative things that stand out. All have been dismissed by someone or other. Which would imply he's flawless, and those who accepyt the flaws say they don't matter. On the one point of the glare. If you are sat watching football and a player fecks up and you glare at him, and on screen another player glares at him, it resonates. I remember it happening quite a bit`is all. I'm not sure it proves anything, but there's no way it means nothing.
I'm just recounting what I see, bizarrely and unbelievably to some, with no agenda, if I had one I'd have made an earlier entrance to this thread. I have no emotional connection to any footballer these days. Nani frustrates me, but usually only at full time because he is so talented I never complain when he starts.

Some fans just get frustrated by flair players and would much prefer a player who just keeps the play ticking, never taking chances. That much can't be denied and I'm sure it's an issue with Nani.
Is he perfect? no, was he one of our best performers last night? yes. Can he still improve? for sure.

More often than not I glare and argue most with my best mate Andy and vice versa, because I fecking can and because I expect from him. Do I hate playing with him? no... I think he's quality.

It's not like there are only two types of player. The headless and the gutless. Keeping it ticking until the time is right to take the chance is the key. Nani plays like a 18 or 19 year old Ronaldo. Maybe he always will. Ronaldo got more fans as the seasons passed because he developed. nani seems to be getting less.

Quite why Nani would be getting less fans now is beyond me, he was PPOTY not that long ago and was our best player for the first big chunk of last season.

As per the glare, again I know where you are with it, I think you can dig up posts of me making similar points in the past about how it's detrimental to the team. However, do you remember the shite on here about Berbatov and Nani? There were several threads, one called 'Beguiling Berbatov' or something, and the overwhelming consensus was that Berbatov was being a dick - because it sends out the wrong impression to players and fans - and that he should show more support for a player trying to do something special. In this case...Nani. It's funny how arguments change. I don't see too much in it myself, but I do see it every game, and with a range of players, some obviously get it more than others, but that would naturally be the case. I'm not sure what effect it really has, but I personally doubt it carries any real impact.

I think he's great TBH, I think he created so much last night that any errors he made could be more than forgiven. In fact IMO when you play the high risk ball like Nani does so often, to get it right as often as he does is great.

Maybe but I think a lot of is to do with taste. There are a few ways to approach the game, with many nuances.

And that's my problem with Nani, a few months off form and the previous 18 months of brilliant development are forgotten about in an instant, it's bizarre.
