Liverpool vs. Manchester United

1 December 2002 Anfield 1–2
9 November 2003 Anfield 1–2
15 January 2005 Anfield 0–1
18 September 2005 Anfield 0–0
3 March 2007 Anfield 0–1
16 December 2007 Anfield 0–1
13 September 2008 Anfield 2–1
25 October 2009 Anfield 2–0
6 March 2011 Anfield 3–1
15 October 2011 Anfield 1–1

We havent won there since 2007. Thats a long time really, but before that we had 6 years unbeaten there, winning 5.
I would not give a damn if we are terrible and win 1-0 again!

We need to win ugly there, like we did both times in 2007.

They haven't had any significant fire power for a while but it's just that thing of this being their big game. You can just imagine after a shite start to the season they'll all be up for it, we've seen it so many times before. That whole thing of "this is where our season starts" etc, I dunno, on paper we should sweep them aside, especially if we play like we can but I always worry going to Anfield.

Suarez will be up for this and will be a handful and L'Pool will play their guts out. We need to concentrate for the whole game and play with some passion ourselves. I can see the odd red card here and a penalty and a draw in the end.

Luis Suarez - stats for Sunday:

Nutmegs - 377
Shots - 477
Goals - 0

All I know is regardless of the outcome of the game and what happens during it, I'll still be listening to some of my mates telling me how shit lucky we are and how corrupted the officials are (always in our favour).

Liverpool will be amped up for this. Expect them to play about 10x better than they have against anyone else this year.

:)

We're due to score a penalty

The way penalties have been handled recently, I'd expect us to somehow score an own-goal taking the next one

But seriously, no way we'd get a penalty at Anfield.

I feel like this is one of the biggest Liverpool-United games in quite a while (I may or may not feel like that every time though). United really have to take this one by the horns to make a mark on this season and we all know it won't be easy. The Liverpool team and fans are going to be fired up.

Just can't see us winning there but hope i'm wrong but i suspect it will be a shit game and we will draw 1-1 or lose 2-1

Got draw written all over it. After all, it's just the warm up for the main event on Sunday anyway.

Your team better do their part. I'm expecting a downer because I don't see us winning this. Only seeing a real title rival (City) lose after it will make it feel slightly better.

Everyone knows our squad is better. And it's been better for at least 2 years now. But we need to prove that we can also rise to the occasion. If Liverpool can play better than usual in the fixture, so should we. There have been way too many shit performances from us there recently.

I see it being a boring, boring game, with it being decided on who takes the one chance they get. I've put it down as a draw (which I'd be happy with), 1-1. They'll keep the ball, we'll keep the ball, chances will be few and far between. Suarez taking the lead, with someone like Welbeck getting an equaliser. Similar to last season.

That post makes no sense as reply.

Liverpool are going to win, deep inside you already know this.

This is true. Absolutely no reason to be confident going into this. Even though Liverpool are fecking shit.

This is true. Liverpool are the biggest game raising feckers ever.

Or we just play poorly against them. They can't play better than the best they can play. We are better than them but we seem to freeze or something.

How does that make any sense? Game-raisers implies they up their usual standard. Nobody is suggesting they ever play anywhere near to their best, until we roll into town of course.

They're proper game-raisers against all of the top sides except Arsenal. They played about twenty times better against City than they have against anyone else this season.

They obviously are usually up for the game but they can't play better than their peak, its just we don't play as well as we can and we call them game raising cnut.

 :(

The worse they get the more I fear them

This.

Can't believe I'm saying this but Anderson should play, we need a presence in there. Carrick and Cleverley/Scholes in a two man against Liverpool is suicidal. I'd even stick Fletcher in before trying those combos.

The point is we shift the blame by just calling them game raisers but had we played to our best we would've beaten them anyway.

Yup. They do raise their game against us but at the same time we consistantly fail to perform against them.

Liverpool haven't won a league game yet, It's the first home game after the Hillsborough inquiry and the home fans will be up for it. Oh and they're playing Man Utd at home this all equals to a Liverpool win.

I'm not optimistic at all, haven't been at Anfield for the last couple years. A draw will be pleasing enough.

I am rather confident about this, yes Liverpool do often raise their game against us but watching them this season has really highlighted how poor they are overall. Also, they don't have Kuyt this season, which is a bonus in my opinion. He always played amazingly against us.

I am predicting a 1-3 scoreline in favour of us.

RVP (x2) and Vidic with the goals.

I predict that the match will be determined by who makes the most out of their setpieces. Rodgers wont be too adventurous this time, so is Fergie. So the game will be very tight.

As I said before, I'll be very happy with a draw.

We're due to score a penalty

There is no way we are getting a penalty or cards in our favour at Anfield on Sunday, just no way. It would take a serious stone waller plus a ref with concrete balls on the day to do that, what with all the media about justice I can't see it. The media will be crying for a Liverpool win.

I just hope we play as well as we did in the FA cup because we we're unlucky that day which is unlike most of the other times there in recent seasons. Drama/attention aside, playing against a Brendan Rodgers side is a good chance to take the points, only thing is, we still have issues that need ironing out too.
