I've always fancied Rio as our captain as he's the man to spur us one, and I suppose he would've been the captain if not for his injuries.
Against Liverpool, and tbf all this season and last, he has been majestic. I think the myth about him losing all of his pace should be silenced as he easily outpaces the likes of Suarez still; Rio used to keep up with and even outpace Eto'o!!
Glad to see that he gets some praise as I think he is an outstanding CB. Imo, he's the most complete CB I've ever seen when on form.
Just exceptional. Him and Nesta have to be the best of their generation. Not sure he gets the credit he deserves in England. The national team selection is an absolute farce.
hope he will not answer woy's call, if he receive one. at his age now, no way he should be playing international football. not playing for england should prolong his club career.
Quite a few neutrals I know think Terry is a better defender than Rio. Id be interested to know who is generally regarded as better. In a national poll, I mean, not one on here, which would be a landslide and pretty meaningless.
I think the only person I saw outpace Rio in his prime was Adebayor, funnily enough. Was weird seeing that - I had no idea Adebayor was so fast!

If Woy asks him to return, Rio should agree to it and then take to twitter to announce his international retirement with the hashtag "yougotmerkedmuthafecka".
Hope he retires at United, will join an elite group of servants (Don't want to start the legend debate as yet, he still needs to earn it after the Peter Kenyon episode).
Yeah, but most supporters go for the spectacular. If Rio has made a slide tackle to knock the ball away from Suarez then everyone would be drooling. But when he stands his ground and just steals the ball from Suarez ever so casually then gently passes the ball to a team mate, no one notice.
