Serbia vs England U21 - The Incident

read this bit on the Sky news website.

From The Serbian FA And while most of the English team players celebrated the score, their player number three, Danny Rose, behaved in inappropriate, unsportsmanlike and vulgar manner towards the supporters on the stands at the stadium in Krusevac, and for that he was shown a red card.

Was he not sent off for kicking something after the game finished ?

Serbia is a joke then. Even their FA is a joke.

Time for UEFA to wave the banning stick

I feel sorry for real Serbian football fans and I'm not wishing them any ban.

How about they start banning real racists and provocateurs, for a change.

You're completely failing to grasp that there is more than one way to solve this issue, and that another option is better. There is 0 need to punish innocent people, when you can just punish the guilty people. Who gives a shit if punishing everybody works? So does punishing just the guilty people. Therefore it's better. Why would you go with a worse option when there's a better option there?

I grasp that it is of course better to always punish the guilty and never the innocent. However, Serbia have been reluctant to punish their guilty in the past and I have zero confidence in them doing so this time around. I also believe that the problem is so widespread in Serbia that they won't just be able to find the guilty ones and ban them, thus rectifying the problem, I don't believe it's gonna be that simple.

I don't believe finding and banning 50 people that they manage to find on camera doing monkey arms will do the trick to be completely honest.

It's as though you don't think the police and clubs tried to get rid of hooliganism in England back in the 70's/80's, they fecking banned tonnes, but it was too widespread, too impossible to police, England needed the ban we received, Serbia probably needs one too.

Of course it won't. They've been warned time and time again, deny the worst in this situation, and still people want to pussyfoot around it.

Kick them out for a while and see if the stoneage attitude changes.

On another note, I hate this fecking idea of players provoking a crowd/inciting a riot etc. It's one (or maybe a few) guys against a few hundred or thousand. If the fans are capable of giving it out, don't expect the players not to give a bit back. If you're such an enormous dripping fanny that you get all teary-eyed and precious when that happens, don't be surprised if people call you on your bullshit.

Completely agree. Astonishes me how most players manage to completely ignore the crowd despite the abuse they get. Don't think I'd be so placid in the same situation.

feck the 'real' Serbian fans. It's this sort of soft stance that is keeping racism in the game. Yout can't try to find this racist ones and stop them watching because that wont work. Ban the lot and have done with it. Let them enter the competitions again in a few years and see if they've sorted themselves out. It's down to them to sort it, nobody else can.

Loco.

I think its you that needs to get a reality check. What were these 'real' supporters doing while all the abuse was going on ? Do you think they were trying to stop it or just turning a blind eye to it has it appears the Serbian F.A are doing . If you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem.
Ban them and ban them now

Ja, mein fuhrer.

Don't punish the players because of what the fans have done.

Play behind close doors for a couple of years in Serbia.

What about the players that were punching and kicking English players after the match? And that coach that headbutted one of the English coaches?

Those feckers probably don't even believe in evolution yet they still chant like monkeys.

Ban them right back to the dark ages where they belong. There is no place in modern decent society for these people, let them play 5 a side games against each other its all they deserve

I think a solid NATO bombardment on civil targets is the only solution here, really. Sub-humans shouldn't be allowed to bother us with such a perverse display, moreover if it occurs during tea time.

Punish them individually.

Funny how some people in this thread speak against racism by using nationalistic slurs against the whole of Serbia.

Common guys I can understand that a lot of people are angry about this and for a good reason but some of the stuff here is really OTT.

Bit over the top don't you think ? A simple banning would do the trick until they are ready to join the 21st century

saw that. be interesting to see who gets hit the most.

Well we both have the same charge re the conduct of players and staff after the whitsle but they've been charged with the alleged racism as well so it'll certainly be Serbia.

The severity of the racism part is obviously the interesting bit.

Innocent people will always suffer when idiots are in focus. There's simply nothing to do about it, and if there was a better way I'm sure someone would've thought it out. At the end of the day any Serbian side (particularly the national team) is a representative of Serbia. We can agree on that, right? If they continuously behave like twats and pull off racist chants - despite several warnings - UEFA will have to step in. It's fairly clear by now that a warning or a small fine won't make a difference, so something stronger is needed. We can agree on that too, right? In my opinion there's two options left then. Either you let play their next X home matches in an empty ground or you throw them out of the current competition and possibly ban them for the next X competitions as well. Considering the amount of warnings they've received and the fact that they obviously couldn't care less (again considering the statement from their FA which is pathetic) I think it would be fair to throw them out of this competition. If they do it again, make the punishment worse etc. etc. Sooner or later they will realise that racism probably isn't that cool and either the Serbian public will stop the chants or their FA will do stuff to stop it - probably a combination of the two.

As I said, it's sad that the sane football fans will suffer because some (although judging by the clips from last night "some" was at least a few hundreds) idiots couldn't behave but I honestly don't see another way of doing it, particularly not when the Serbian FA is seemingly in full denial-mode. The Serbian FA SHOULD have addressed this years ago when they got some of their previous warnings, but keeping their recent statement in mind they seemingly don't give a feck. I really don't see another way of telling them to sort it out but to suspend them for at least the current qualification.

Why is the Serbian FA statement pathetic? Which part exactly? Did you read the entire statement at all?

Are you joking me?

During each and every minute of the match, until the mentioned last one, sports atmosphere full of respecting fair-play spirit was at the pitch and the stands

FA of Serbia absolutely refuses and denies that there were any occurrences of racism before and during the match at the stadium in Kruševac

Who the feck made that decision? Kenny Dalglish?

Nah, the FA deserved to get hit with a charge for the fighting. England players and staff were giving it back, too, so they ought to get a punishment. Not as badly, mind you, but if they weren't charged at all it'd be silly.

Well I personally doubt England will play in Serbia again for another 20 years, at any level. UEFA/FIFA has protocols to avoid drawing certain nations against each other. Maybe this doesn't merit it as much as two countries whom have just been at war, but if the FA refuse to travel to Serbia I have a feeling that that may happen.

Personally I think the FA are within their rights to boycott Serbia.

I did read the entire statement yes. Sadly. If you need me to point out which parts are pathetic I feel it'd be a waste of time doing so really, so I'll just leave it there and refer to the ones already pointed out.

We are talking events at a football match here. A football match. Football.

Grow up.

Shut up redlambs, some of the comments in this thread are borderline fascist and have nothing to do with football at all. Grow a pair of eyes.
