Anderson

It sums up Anderson that he didn't play well in a team not playing well? That goes for pretty much everyone.

His first off par performance of the season by the way. Some of the posters on these boards

Exactly.

He wasn't even poor actually.

Was alright imo. Not the best games but wasn't poor for sure.

And the team and circumstances has a lot to do with it.

No, it's the fact that he's been playing well recently but then comes up against a completely average team and looks as though he's made a bet that he can look worse than them. Some of his passing in the first half was amateur, it was hard to say who he was passing to at times. Unless you were born yesterday then you'd know that this is typical of Anderson to suddenly play like this, hence this summing him up.

Just one of those games. I wouldn't give it another thought. We know he can do better. The team looked long. I don't think that's us anymore and teams like Braga will give you a game - especially when you don't press and give them space.

Just one of those nights. Worked hard and got time under his belt

One thing i noticed in the Braga game he tried to play a few "hollywood" balls, i think the commentator mentioned it at the time too, i do believe he has it in his locker to produce a killer ball but he just needs the right balance of when to do it.

He has a great ability to skip past a man in midfield. Sticks out a mile for us because none of our other midfielders do it with any kind of consistency. It opens the play up for us on so many occasions.

Hopefully, this looks to be the season that Anderson is finally finding himself. He is making it tough to leave him out at the moment.

Then you must surely say the same for Rooney, whose passing was outright atrocious after the first 15, where he was good. Rooney was also the player who gave the ball away before Braga scored.

Anderson's passing is mostly very good, but granted against Braga he didn't play up to his standards, but that goes for most of our team. Looked to be a shitty pitch to play at too.

This is true. His off games are more noticeable than the likes of Carrick and Cleverley, as they tend to keep it simple more often. Same with Rooney.

This is very true!

I noticed one thing though, that I thought to myself that "damn, Valencia looks quick today" - then it turned out it was Anderson who had picked the ball up on our right back position. He has an immense acceleration with the ball.

This thread just signifies that some people would never be happy. They would make themselves miserable under the pretense of being realistic.

I know right, it's like they have this mindset that unless you're a miserable cnut that tends to overlook every mistake and not give enough attention to the positive sides of the game you can't be realistic, you "live in a dream world".
Sometimes it's funny, but the amount of times this kind of mindset is showing is kind of worrying a bit.

Missed it during the game because it happened so quick but, it was Ando that made the key interception to spark the 3rd goal.

Certainly hope he gets more minutes this weekend - all the games he has been in, he gives us that different dimension of a player carrying the ball from CM and driving the opposition back.

He's literally the missing piece in our midfield which we've been waiting for Sir Alex to fix every transfer window for the past few seasons.

This guy is hard to judge. Is he good? Is he great? Is he shite? Another weird performance from him tonight...

He was awful, too fat, too slow and what's with the misplaced hollywood balls.

Didn't do himself any favours tonight.

The stoping and starting of his playing time isn't doing him any good. It usually doesn't. See Tevez' second season with us.

It really is tough playing every now and then knowing that a poor performance will mean more weeks on the bench.

He is a mixture of the two, woefully inconsistent, in the space of one match. Truth be told, I don't have much faith in him. That series of shocking corners will have driven SAF insane.

I expect Ando to be on the naughty step for a while.

Jesus.

How about we judge him playing in a proper first 11, and when he has done that this season, he's been excellent.

As "shit" as some of you think he was, look how we missed him when he left the field.

It's the Ando cycle:

1)Come in and look good.
2)Start playing shit.
3)Briefly improve again before getting injured and disappear for a few months.
4)Come back in training and have everyone accuse you of being fat
5)Back to 1).

All that said he looked ok tonight I feel, was the only one matching the physicality of Galatasaray, passing was a bit off as was his touch.

He's not great after a good performance, and he's not shite after a bad performance.

The truth is somewhere in between. Why do fans need to choose either great or shite? I don't know.

How about we judge him playing in a proper first 11, and when he has done that this season, he's been excellent.
There's always an explanation. Yeah.

Why some posters are slating Anderson after tonight baffles me. He did very well and when he came off we didn't look anywhere near as good a side. Anderson gets stick and yet Fletcher doesn't get a mention who in all honesty was dire.

Strange post. Nobody is saying he is a shit player. Today was a shit performance from him. Out of all the midfielders his passing success rate was the lowest.

Very tough. He can't be judged on that alone, he needs more games.

KM I find you strange as feck so I'll take that as a complement, at least the feeling is mutual.

He did make 7 tackles and interceptions though. Clev and Fletch came up with a grand total of 3 between them

I said strange post. What's wrong with you?

I read....

Anderson was shit. So much for him being the answer to our midfield problems.

And I said "Jesus. Judge on him playing with the first 11, and when he's done that he's been excellent".

That you find that strange shows you why I think you're odd. But I'm more than willing to give you a chance to explain why my post was a strange reply to the hyperbole of these posts.
