He earned a great reputation because he did great to good jobs with Wycome, Leicester, Celtic and Villa.
His Villa side was easily the strongest Villa over the last 10 years.
Having a bad time so far this season, but he is more than capable of turning it around especially if he has a few quid to spend in jan.
Oneill get a lot of protection in that league when he flops miserably.
This is pretty much the only real miserable spell I can recall for O'Neill
I've never rated him, ever.
People forget he spent about £90m net at Villa and still peaked them at 6th.
His work has been overrated.
A limited manager at best. His obsession with paying over the odds for British players must be infuriating. Even at Villa he spent tons of money on workman like players such as Milner and Downing.
Winning 2 league cups and making Leicester a decent PL side doesn't rank as good achievements?
He spent a fortune with Villa without ever doing a great deal. I think he gets off light when you look at some of the unfair criticism levelled at other managers.
They are good achievements
Not to mention playing some of the most tedious football in years.
Thats the one thing that would make me livid were I a Villa fan. He actually builds his sides similar to the way Pulis does, to beat other teams into submission.

I don't care how well he does for clubs, MON's anti football really annoys me. He never tries to move past it either.
