Manchester City vs. Manchester United

I agree, it always takes a few games to get rid of the rustiness, so vidic won't be at his sharpest anyway. Better to play someone else at this point, rather than rushing him back and risk losing him for another portion of the season.

Yes midfield as ever is the worry. How we set up in that regard could determine how well we do in this match. If we can seriously contend the central area, i fancy us to get some chances on the break!

I would be lying if i said i don't see that being true of City too though! :nervous: :D

It's such a frustration that Anderson misses this and Cleverley a doubt also, otherwise I would be feeling confident.

I would fancy us to win the midfield battle with Anderson as I think City miss the presence of De Jong, especially if Toure plays more advanced.

Both teams are in fairly poor form, but we have lots of key injuries. That's the difference. A player or two back might let us regain parity - Kagawa, Cleverley, one of our wingers. But I see City really raising their game for this one.

Whatever happens, a lot of the onus is on our strikers. If we don't see some of those injury doubts playing, we probably won't have many opportunities. They have to take them, because we're sure as hell going to concede a few.

Carrick is the only midfielder over 28 who should be allowed anywhere near the team. I really hope Shinji and Clev can play. That wouldn't be a terrible 3 man midfield in the current circumstances. Rooney, Young and Persie ahead.

My team would be this

------------De Gea------------
Jones----Rio----Vidic-------Evra

----------Carrick--Fletch------
---------------Scholes-----------

Valencia--------------------Rooney

---------------RVP---------------------

Fletch doesn't look ready to me. I think Rafael will be back.

Fergie packed the midfield last year didn't he? With the wrong players unfortunately. Was it Park, Giggs, Scholes, Carrick?

I wouldn't call that packing the midfield.

We had Park on the right and Giggs on the left, the way the game developed (which it was blindingly obvious it would) they were dominating the middle and Park and Giggs were forced to come inside to help out. We then lost all width and had zero route for attacking.

I really wouldn't call having 3 immobile players (and 1 relatively immobile at the time) in a midfield 4 "packing the midfield".

35 nugs?

It's the deal of the fecking century as far as I'm concerned.

Shinji would be a dream come true but highly unlikely. Isn't he a few weeks off? Has he even trained?

Watchable. It's a solid stream though with very few connection problems.

Over 3G it plays smoothly.

The old Sky Mobile TV app was crystal clear, this isn't quite that good but it's definitely watchable and great value for £5. I think it was advertised as being more than £5, maybe £8?, but it's only been charging me £5.

Nani was playing on the right in that game. We played 4-5-1 with Park, Carrick and I think Scholes in the middle?

Tom Cruise and Robert Duvall have managed to get tickets to the game. The game as draw written all over it 1-1.

Actually he predominately was playing off Rooney, he only moved wider when Welbeck came on for Park and took up that position and was replaced for Young shortly after Valencia came on.

Can't understand why so many of you want to stick Rooney on the wing. He's our best player, play him in his best position.

Just got right to the end of subscribing, only to find I've left my bank card at home, for the first time ever! Gutted

Blimey, I wish I was as confident as some of you lot. I can't see anything other than a reasonably comfortable City win.

I'm waiting to see our starting XI before I decide what to expect from the game.

Which is?

I don't think even Rooney knows where his best position is this season.

Erm, central behind the striker..

You might argue it's as a number 9, but it's blatantly not as a fecking winger.

Spot on. Anderson and Clevs ability to carry the ball forward has proved effective against city in the past. Anderson especially is a big miss in my view.

He is the only mid we have capable of powering through the city midfield and driving the team forward. Without him we have a tendency to play in front of teams, which is obviously easier to defend against for an opponent.

Tom Cleverley fit enough to travel to #mcfc for #mufc. Teams due..

Mark Ogden

If I was Fergie I would go with:

---------------------------LINDEGAARD---------------------------
RAFAEL------------EVANS-----------FERDINAND---------EVRA
------------------------------CARRICK-----------------------------
------------------FLETCHER----------CLEVERLEY---------------
-------------------------------ROONEY-----------------------------
----------------VAN PERSIE-------------CHICHARITO-----------

It would be brilliant today, Toure, Barry and Milner are hardly the most dynamic so those two would have the potential to cause real problems. Such a shame.

Cleverley has travelled with the team.

Balotelli starting with Aguero supposedly.

Strong team by them.
