Manchester City vs. Manchester United

Good, strong team and probably the strongest we could've put forward. Rooney will play very deep.

Has everyone forgot how dire Valencia has been this season? Glad to see Cleverley though.

4-4-2 it is then.

De Gea

Rafael - Ferdinand - Evans - Evra

Valencia Cleverley Carrick Young

Rooney
RVP

So glad to see Rafael in there ahead of Jones. Cleverley and Carrick have looked good at times and Cleverleys movement brings the best out of Carrick.

Get in. Absolutely made up that we haven't beaten ourselves already with our lineup.

I had Valencia in the line-up game since Friday, only changed it after reading Fergie talking about how he should have started Danny in "that" game last season. Damn you Frogie!

Ecstatic with the team selection. Get them on the wings like we did at Chelsea. This would end 2-1 United.

Come on United!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad he's gone for an attacking team. There's really no point going for a draw like last year. We're just not defensively strong enough to hold out.

Rooney the key man today for me, has to get in to good positions in the middle to give the midfielders and our ball and to drag Barry deeper. If Rooney over commits defensively or pushes up to high then it'll let their midfielders push up on us.

 Quality stuff

Now we just need our wingers to put in a good performance, need to raise their game today.

Rooney will be so important behind RVP, if he plays well I think we'll win. It will be Barry picking him up when he drops off and I fancy Rooney to get the better of him.

Yeah, let's just focus on that rather than the fact that we get one of the league's best wingers on play rather than Welbeck on the wing. He will produce, I can feel it.

No, but i'd rather him than Rooney or Welbeck there.

We need him to have a good game.

Don't disagree with that and I agree, if he's fit he should be played. I just don't expect anything special from him given his current form is all.

That's a good side. Rooney needs to do a big job today.

OFFICIAL MUFC XI:

de Gea

Rafael
Ferdinand
Evans
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Cleverley
Young

Rooney
van Persie

Fantastic surprise. I figured Valencia was out for sure and Clevz was a distant hope, but they're both in. This is an XI that can beat City.

I get about three points in the Lineups game but very pleased with the team SAF selected

If it doesn't work out we could always sub on Fletcher to use his work rate and Chicharito with his goal scoring record. Very good team.

Edit: No Fletcher on the bench.

Very satisfied with that line up, all things considered.

It can only get better though.

More than anything else, i just want him to have a proper go at the LB. If he tries and fails, i'd still be fine with it. Just dont want the standing on one leg, moving the other on top of the ball 4 times followed by a backpass to Rafael, thats all.

City have our number.
Away at the Etihad too.. Anything is a bonus

Am I being too pessimistic?
