But on the topic of Kagawa, it has to be said that he hasn't had the greatest of starts taking his injury into account. Also I don't think he hit the ground running as he would have expected. He tried to hard to create shooting opportunities and took on the shots where shooting wasn't necessarily the best option. I have no doubts that he'll prove to be a shrewd signing and is essential to our new brand of central play.

Kagawa was unfortunate at the start of the season not just with his injury, but also in the sense that he joined us at a time whereby we were playing our worst football in about 8 years or so. I honestly think it was worse than that of the Djemba/Kleberson era at times, it was baffling. It'll be fantastic seeing him in a team with Rooney, Van Persie et al on form instead of the one he joined whereby everyone looked terrified of being creative.
He's taken 8 shots in 6 games. Hardly a lot.
He's also got 2 goals and 3 assists in his 8 appearances, which is decent considering our team was at the beginning of trying to gel together. I have no doubt that by the time he gets fully integrated in our team that he will become just as important to us as he was to Dortmund. There's a reason why even Liverpool fans hated that we signed him and were saying how he will become a great player for us.
Fergie apparently said Kagawa is starting training THIS Monday. I initially assumed that it was a typo on the report of the press conference, but it seems no correction has been made.
Disappointing. I had hoped for him to at least be on the bench against Swansea, and then potentially be in contention to start against Newcastle. If he starts training on Monday, then I can't see him being on the bench until next weekend.

I thought he was already back in training, but I guess not. Guess we can't expect him back at all until the new year at a guess.
That's disappointing news alright. I too was under the impression that he was back in training last Monday.
I'm pretty sure this is about the 3rd Monday running that Kagawa has started training with the first team.

My thoughts exactly. It's disappointing that he is missing out on valuable game time to make his mark in the team.
Fergie's toying with us all. "In training Monday" has become the new "back in two weeks".Great player - once on form, Fergie won't have an issue finding a place for him as he's too good to not be prioritized. He can come in off the left or play in the hole in Rooney's absence. Him and Nani are the only players in our squad with such quick feet.
Less shots than I thought eh, but some of the shots I'm talking about stick in my memory. But hey he's got a decent enough conversion rate so who am I to complain.

I saw that too.. My Dad said it was a fitness test, not sure why they would have done it on the pitch before the game though?
Perhaps there was a concern over one of the subs so Kagawa could've been promoted to the bench.

It's fairly obvious that we were short in attacking options so they ran him through the motions to see if he could contribute off the bench. It happens all the time in football.
I've seen the likes of Edgar Davids, Aron Winter, and Clarence Seedorf all take a late fitness test and then be included in the first eleven.
Hopefully Shinji will be able to contribute in some fashion over the next few games if Rooney is lost for a couple of weeks.

Hopefully Shinji will be on the bench for the west brom match. Knee injuries are tricky but I think he has had almost 3 months off and right now we are shockingly short of options yet again.

No, he wasn't. Ronaldo was always primarily a winger for us, and Rooney primarily a striker. A few Champions League games like Porto away, or Roma away etc where they switched round.
But more than 90% of games was Ronaldo right and Rooney central.
