Would you rather Giggs retire at a time where he's still performing reasonably well but realizes he is done or when it's painfully obvious to everyone he needs to hang his boots up?
I'd like to see Giggs retire when it is on his and SAFs terms. It's up to us fans to be sensible to accept that we can't expect the type of performances of a young Giggs. That out of him we will get the performances you want from any veteran - one of experience and class.

I wouldn't mind it at all - though I think against Spurs he'll be even more effective coming off the bench. Use the likes of Nani or Kagawa to work them hard for the first 60 odd minutes and then if we need a spark - which Giggs certainly can do, bring Sir Ryan on.

I'm assuming the question didn't refer to central midfield but either way, i myself expect a taxing 90 minutes and such is not an ingredient favourable to Giggs' inclusion.

I think Giggs is making the right decision, lets see what happens at the end of the season and make an informed decision. Lets not be hasty and say all sorts of weird and wonderful things.

Has anyone noticed the difference in last two or three games comparing it to his last few seasons? He runs at defenders at the moment like he was doing it in his prime days. Of course he wasn't as pacey as he used to be, but he isn't affraid to dribble, he looks like he still want something to prove, and it's obvious he still does it with ease and class.

Giggs has been fantastic in the last few months,and as some people have said,he does still have something to offer if he's used in the right way.
If we keep using him the way we have been in these few months, I certainly wouldn't mind if he stayed on for another year.He really deserved it.

The thing is, just because Giggs is 39, people don't see him as an 'out of form' player when he's playing badly. They just pull out the 'he's finished' card. Hopefully he's proved people wrong enough times now to make them think twice next time he goes on a poor run.

Football isn't all about the physical. It's an art form, to some players. Many, many players down through the years have been slow, not very athletic and not very fit, compared to the modern standard, but yet they were able outplay opponents, time and time again.
Cantona, Zidane, Sheringham, Le Tissier and many more great players have used technique, skill, vision and a good footballing brain to devastating effect, without ever being considered, athletic or do much running about the pitch. Giggs falls firmly into that category, these days. He'll always have the technique, skill and footballing brain to bring something to the team, which is why he's lasted so long. If Giggs thinks he can go on for another few years, then who are we to doubt him.
He won't be brilliant every time he appears for us, but none of our players ever are, they all have runs of bad form. It's nothing to do with age.
