Leaves defenders on their arse for fun.
Poor first half, slightly better second half. Overall a 5/10 game for me.
Just my opinion. No need to get upset.
2nd game in nearly 3 months. I thought he did well considering that.
Couldn't watch the game last night so I'm watching it now and after seeing the first half I'm amazed at some of the stuff written on here about Nani's first 45 minutes. I shouldn't be amazed, I mean this is Nani after all, but I am.
Involved in much of our good play, fashioned a couple of chances for himself to get shots off, created a great chance for Rooney. 2 or 3 moments where he should have done better granted, but overall a decent positive 45 mins.
Strange place this forum. I think where Nani is concerned he needs only to have a poor moment or 2 for fans to completely forget all the good stuff that went before.
Edit: Just one minute into the second half now and he's already set-up Rooney for another great chance with a brilliant piece of play.
I Don' t know why poor games by Nano are always denied! He did improve 2nd half but any one who thought he was anything but poor first half is delusional.
Just look at the expressions on other players faces when yet again he wasted time and space to hit first defender. I do not dislike him and would like to see him back to his best.
Have a rewatch, trust me. Sometimes we form a shit opinion when watching the game live, you definitely have done that yesterday if you think he was "shit" in the first half.
As for "have a look at players faces"... are you kidding me?

The fact that you had to post "I do not dislike him" tells a story, I mean, why would anyone dislike a United player?
It's the same as the flack giggs gets for his style. People love to hate it when it doesn't come off and then lap it up when it does ie the assist for rvp, obviously giggs has more leeway with us and rightly so but you just need to accept that to get those sort of moments you have to put up with these players trying something tough that might not come off for a while.
Nani didn't really take any shots yesterday that weren't on, there was one in the first half where he shot near post which was probably the wrong choice but aside from that I don't see issues with the shots he took. If they go in we rave about it.
I could I could understand the crowd frustration in te first half, as a team we were playing far too relaxed and with there already bein a certain perception of nani, couple with the uncertainty over his future he became the easy targe for their frustration. But I don't see how anyone could say he was worse than Rooney in that first half, he was involved in virtually all our attacks, his movement was opening things up for us etc. second half the whole team picked up their intensity, nani included and we blew Fulham aside an again nani was involved in much of that.[/QUOT
Rooney was poor no doubt but why does that mean we can' t legitimately criticise Nani? It' s nothing to do with perception it's all to do with performance given the time and space he was granted.
So you formed such a shit opinion after having a re-watch... wow!
I'd absolutely love to sit down with a person like you and re-watch the game together to see where exactly you expect so much better and at the same time see what you say as Rooney does something very similar. As I said, general play was good, created a few chances, had a couple of moments (3 at most) in first half where he could've done better.
And you post "nothing short of awful"... madness.

The uneducated usually resort to insult rather than discussion.
Why does any criticism of Nani bring abuse and Rooney's name?
Strange that you haven't insulted me yet then, go figure.
The cap obviously fits, now you have your insult! happy?
Maybe I should've left out the profanity, apologies.
But I stand by the fact that "Nani yesterday was nothing short of awful" is a poor opinion. I'm pretty certain the vast majority of people would back me up on that.
At his best he is brilliant. But today was not one of those.
1st half Nani was pretty bad, 2nd half Nani was pretty good...
Isn't that the general consensus? Because that's pretty much how it was...

I thought he was pretty good in both halves. Constantly drew two players out of the game, beat his man quite often, was involved in most of our best passing moves and looked confident throughout. Good defensively too. The only downside was him taking stupid shots on 3 or 4 occasions once he got himself into good positions to pick out a man.
The most annoying Nani related aspect of yesterday's game was the crowd noticeably getting on his back at times. Absolute madness.
Completely agree with that assessment and as I said earlier, those moments seem to be enough with Nani to make people forget al the good that he's done before.
I'm sure some were pissed with him for not squaring to Rooney in the first half, but he started that play, made a great run, received the ball brilliantly and got himself into a great shooting position. Not many players would've passed there.
