Manchester United vs. Southampton

How can someone be on a hatrick if he's only scored two goals?
(ESPN commentator said Baines is on a hatrick and Everton are 2-0 up...)

Some people would defend De Gea on here, even if he throws the ball into our net.

I mean i am a fan of his and criticism from the media has been over the top, but let's at least call a spade a spade.

I'm happy DeGea "pussied out" rather than threw himself in and risked a red card and a peno.

If he anticipated him not getting to the ball, then he should have stood off instead of over commiting and made himself big letting the striker make the first move.

And if he had committed early then he should have given away the indirect freekick. Simple really.

Good strategy from Southampton is working well - basically skipping midfield. Draw our attackers out onto their defence then hoof it.

Carrick and Ando need to provide better options.

Nobody is saying he couldn't have done better, but to step back and see that as a whole it was obvioulsly Carricks's fault. It was a looping, slow backpass on a shit pitch.

I've heard this phase several times recently, Hernandez most recently. It simpler means he's got two goals and thus is on his way toward a hat trick. Silly, but it is distinguishable from actually having a hat trick.

Not been Anderson's night at all. Shame, but never mind. Some promising displays so far.

Two big worries, one Ando is poor, and two Shinji isn't really offering enough defensively. Not really his role I guess, but I'd consider moving him central and getting Rooeny to cover more out wide.

It was only a question of time until the weather freezes Anderson football skills to death.

I can't think of any player that has deserved a goal more than Danny has in the past few weeks.
