He's hit a new level this season to be fair, his 16th goal. Certainly the best winger in the PL at the moment.

Indeed. Would love him at United.
On another note, why does everyone on here seem so certain he's itching to leave? If they qualify for the CL then I don't see why he'd want to go anywhere else.
He's the main man at a superbly run football club. Qualify for the CL, buy a CB, RW and a forward and they have a very good chance of challenging for major honours next season.
Holtby looks a great buy too.
I remember when the consensus on here was that Nani was a significantly better player.

In fairness he can do everything Ronaldo can, just worse in every way.
Soon enough you'll be hearing people call him the most complete player in the league.

The "he's not as good as Ronaldo" stuff is baffling me. Why is this relevant? There's only one person in the entire world who is!

he's not as good as a lot of players
It's just a comparison on Bale's playing style.
no way...they still have massive depth issues to begin to even think about taking the league or CL. Given their turn-over and wages, they have zero chance of taking either the league or CL next season even if they finish 3rd this season.
Well, yes, but it's being used as a criticism. Or a kind of dismissive way of downplaying his talent a lot of the time. No one thinks he's as good as Ronaldo. Very few people think anyone but Messi is. It's like when people say Beckham was good, but never one of the greatest players of all time. No one ever says he was! What is the point of it? It's like putting "he's not as good as Messi though" at the end of every opinion of a tricky dribbling player.

I think the thing with Beckham is that he attained a level of fame befitting of one of the all greats, it seems to irk some people.
The point is that the way the Brit media go on about him, you'd think he was as good as Messi not someone who's about as effective as Walcott. Hence the desire to bring some sanity to things.Well, yes, but it's being used as a criticism. Or a kind of dismissive way of downplaying his talent a lot of the time. "challenging"
Pete. That analogy. Too much.

one is not 'challenging' unless they have some kind of chance of winning even if it is 2 or 3 %.
spurs have 0 chance. spurs have as much chance of winning the league next year as the vermin do.
If they went into it with the squad they have now, yes. Not if they brought in good players in the 3 areas I previously mentioned.
I don't think they'd be genuine contenders but probably the sort that would be there or there abouts until March/April.
GK - Lloris, Friedel
RB - Walker, Naughton
CB - Kaboul, Verthongen, Caulker, NewCB
LB - BAE, Rose
CM - Dembele, Sandro, Holtby, Parker
RW - Lennon, NewRW
LW - Bale, Townsend
ST - Defoe, Adebayor, NewST
that's ignoring Sigurdsson and Dempsey.
Very good squad. Just needs extra quality in a few areas.

Glaston will wank himself towards a heart attack. He looks more smug every time he scores, and the transformation into the perfect Ronnie tribute act goes on
