Benitez to Chelsea Discussion & Sack watch

"Every game they continue singing and preparing banners they are wasting time. They have to take responsibility. They need to support the team."

Yes, take responsibility, like Rafa always does! He's his own harshest critic.

Unbelievable that he's again trying to blame his managerial retardedness on somebody else.

He is bang on with what he has said, the Chelsea supporters (a certain section) have been shocking and deserve nothing!

Both parties deserve nothing. I'm not sure what he's trying to achieve. Is he trying to galvanise the club or is he simply playing the blame game here.

Everyone loves to hate Chelsea fans, but the guy openly criticised them then just expected a warm welcome? The man's a clown.

He openly criticised them when he was manager of Liverpool big deal SAF has done the same. But Chelsea have got a highly decorated manager in and some fans have behaved appallingly. Who did they think they could get in? Benetiz as much as he is annoying deserves far more respect than what he got. Hope there next manager is another AVB scenario.

rafa should purposely destroy their chances at top 4. i love his line that talks about him not being around next year and the fans might have to deal with europa league if they are not supporting the team now in their push for top 4.

ffs, rafa holding the club hostage.

What does the behavior of a certain group of supporters have to do with the fact that Benitez can't manage the team properly? He effectively placed the blame for potential finishing outside of the top four on the fans, that dislike him and voice their displeasure. He took shots at supporters, CFC board and even his own players. If you watch the interview, you get the impression that Rafa carries no responsibility whatsoever for the performances and results, yet he's happy to point fingers at everybody else. No wonder, he fit with scousers so well.

Thats exactly what I dont get. Why is he blaming the fans for him not being able to win games? So if they keep booing then they are going to end up in the Europa League?

He's also, as usual, happy to take the big bucks that comes with the responsibility he so casually passes on to others.

Every single board hes ever worked for, its ended like this. Its not a one off, its not 'chelsea' , he did it to get his move to valencia, he did it at valencia, he did it at Liverpool, and managed to appear he was standing up for the supporters because he finally found a place where the owners were bigger cnuts than him, he did it at Inter and hes doing it here.

Hes made , by my reckoning, over £10 million just from being sacked in the last 3 years.

Nice work if you can get it.

General idiocy by all involved. I don't know whether to blame Chelsea's owner, manager, fans or squad, because all have been equally disastrous this year.

yep.

however there are too many chelsea players i enjoy watching right now unfortunately. I feel so dirty that i really quite like ramires, hazard, mata, and oscar. They are some of my favourite players in the game right now. :nervous:

In two. I'd very welcome any of those at United.

Rafas a tool but its hard to take Chelsea fans serious, criticising the monkey for the tune but don't have a bad word to say about the organ grinder.

You sells your soul you takes your chances.

To be fair, whatever we we think of Rafa, the way Chelsea fans have behaved has shown the club and their fans for what they are - arrogant and classless moaners. He was Scouse manager when he made those comments. He also has a fair point about interim manager title.

Enough of me trying to be objective - they both deserve each other.

You cant build a tottering side in one fell swoop. You know you are here for only a few months. So, why not spew some shit? If the fans supported the team, they could have got some wins under their belt. Booing the manager, and holding banners reviling him, works on the team, too,

And the team knows he will be away in a few months. So, why adopt his methods?

Chelsea deserve what they are getting. CL champs to Europa league.

Can we not just blame Terry?

We've got our main competitors being lead by managers who have completely lost it (Mancini and Rafa). No wonder why we're doing so well in the EPL.

If they started to boo him after a few weeks of bad results then the Chelsea fans would have been sensible but the way they have treated him (much to our amusement ) since his first match was weird and even unfair

We wouldnt be stupid enough to hire him in the first place. One he just sucks and second he managed one of your main rivals. Why would you want him in the first place? I still cant fathom that.

:smirk: Tell that to all your fellow fans who want Mourinho at United too then.

I'd love Rafa to get the sack and then they unveil a replacement and its Rafa again, maybe with his beard shaved as a 'disguise'. Imagine the meltdown

I can see Rafa's point, but it's never his fault is it! It wasn't his fault at Liverpool, despite some of his mental substitutions and negative tactics and I doubt it was his fault at Inter either.

He's hilarious. Took the European champions and 3-times-in-a-row league winner in Italy to 12th...and took Chelsea from 4 points off top to 19. Also, slowly ground down a Liverpool team (after having his only real success there with someone else's players) to the mid-table mediocrity that we all know and love today.

That Benítez is still a good coach is one of the world's greatest myths. Perpetuated by hilariously deluded Scousers.

Really hope he stays until the QF though - they might get someone competent in!!

Someone I follow on Twitter wrote last night: "John Terry will be the next Chelsea manager. He'll walk around arguing with himself, and talking to other senior players behind his own back."

Thought that was pretty apt.

He is a good coach, whatever we say about him. 2 CL finals in 3 years with a less than great Liverpool side says he has to be. Fallen off the radar completely since then mind. He'll probably feck off to to the Middle East or something now. He'll never get another Prem job.

Benitez has been a competent manager in his time. This appears to be despite being a genuine idiot.

Avram Grant got the CL final. Rafas main weakness is that he is a terrible man manager.

Ramires is one of your favourite players?

VW, that's nearly as mental as Rafa!

I repeat, United would be no different if Rafa went to them, despite some people pretending that they would 'support the manager for the benefit of the team' its easy to say that because its a hypothetical situation, 99.9% of United fans would be as bad if not worse than us.

Benitez's main problem is that he's a mad idiot, but yes, that probably doesn't foster great relationships with the players - and let's face it, it's quite apparent that it's a group of players who fall apart as a team in the face of a little disruption.

Grant took over a very good team and just about managed to not feck it up enough to reach a CL final. I see nothing that he did at Chelsea that is worthy of high praise.

Di Matteo did a great job bringing some cohesion and spirit to a deflated squad - that was bound to run out at some point and he was sure to go. A bit unfortunate, but really the cohesion was his main achievement.

Scolari didn't really get a chance.

But the really, really stupid decision was getting rid of Ancelotti, a damned good manager.

It's a long time since he was a competent manager.

I think Fergie genuinely damaged the man.
