I'm not sure what logic there is behind playing Nani ahead of Kagawa against Madrid. One of the most important things against Madrid is that when we get the ball, we do our best to keep it and use it well. Kagawa is as good as anybody in our side at keeping the ball and using it as best as possible. Nani poses an attacking threat, but he shouldn't be coming in ahead of a ball player like Kagawa that's for sure. If he's taking anybodies place, it's Welbeck...and even that's a push after Welbeck worked his ass off and even scored in the first leg.
Kagawa was great today. Some people simply don't realise how good he is. His use of the ball is excellent. Never panics even when he's got players rushing at him, when he's confident he's simply lethal. Building up a right nice partnership with Rooney too. The people who doubted this guy are already being embarrassed to be perfectly frank, pretty laughable.
I think he seems to favour his right but he seems very comfortable on both.
Probably his best game for you today, played very well. Do you guys want him starting vs Real? I would say it was the best option.
He's definitely right footed. But he's among the most 2 footed we have in our squad. You can see he's confident enough to use his left when he needs to.
I don't even know where to start!

- He is at his best only when we have a lot of possession? He was included in the starting XI on the 1st leg because we needed to retain the ball...nothing has changed since then. Actually it has - he scored a sublime hat-trick!
- He had his chance in the first leg and now it's Nani's turn?? By what fecking logic? Jesus wept.
- He won't be effective in slow zombie passimg games? The players create and dictate the tempo. Does he really strike you as that type of player?
I distinctly remember Mancini dropping Dzeko when he was in the form of his life and just thought...why?! Thesame applies here. A guy scores a hat-trick, you do not drop hom to fullfil a fanboi's lust. As much as I would like to see Nani v Madrid - Valencia will start to shield Rafael.
As to whether or not Kagawa will play..I don't pick the team but I'd be baffled of he didn't.

Really happy for him. It's going to do his confidence so much good. He hasn't had an easy first season at United, what with injuries and fitting into the way united play...but I reckon Ferguson is right, next year he is going to be such a star player for us.
There are some right numpty fanboys on here. Either you are with them or you are against them, there is no nuance to the debate.
Kagawa is a good player and once he settles will improve even more next season, once his fitness and strength improves in terms of playing centrally against a team that is pressing him.

Some great finishes today. More importantly, his movement was terrific and he really is great at playing those 1-2's. The first goal he scored probably saved the team from a hairdryer. Rooney and him played off each other superbly today.
I'm about 99% certain he's left-footed. Although this could become a very boring debate.
I'm finding it difficult to give an accurate rating because the goals do colour things a little bit, but I'll try. Overall, I thought he played really well. He wasn't very effective when he was staying on the wing, but once he started moving around and taking the ball from Carrick in space, he came into his own. Got into all sorts of great positions and was rewarded with three excellent goals (and I think he meant to shoot the first one the way he did).
Second half he got even better when RVP came off because he moved into the center even more, really dictated the attacking game from there. It was great to watch.
Will he start against Madrid? Who knows, but his form is improving slowly and he wouldn't exactly be a liability.

I'm sure that I'm one of the biggest Kagawa fans out there, having kept a close eye on him for at least 50 games now(Japan, Dortmund, United). But I still don't know which foot he prefers!! There are just as many people claiming he's left-footed as there are people claiming he's right-footed. And honestly, just by looking at how he plays, there is no way to tell which is true! I hope some sports journalist asks him that question one time.. It would be cool to know.

I do think he's right footed as well, but honestly, he looks just as comfortable with his left foot! It's kind of scary...
He shows what a lot of pros should be able to do.Use your "weaker" foot as much as you want when the situation requires it, some pros are unbelievably and sadly one footed

You first said Kagawa couldn't play out wide, dribbling past players while running down the channel (This all despite the fact he's done it at club level and actually plays out wide for Japan on quite a few occasions).
You then go on to claim he's more of a support striker rather than an AM and list other players that would drop deep. This all despite the fact that Kagawa consistently drops deep, today almost like Scholes does nowadays, dropping into his own half at times to pick the ball up and keep the play moving.
Then start going on about defensive workrate and stamina (stamina, not long after Kagawa had returned from an injury layoff). Apparently other players according to you also bounce off of oncoming players, which Kagawa cant do (despite consistently fooling players as he spins and turns them, which he's done in pretty much every game he's played for us).
After that you ask for somebody to produce a video of 'ten dribbles' from him.
And that's just bringing up the stuff posted over the last three pages
He's clearly right footed, any fool could see that. But he's very competent on using his left too.
