Shinji Kagawa

OK I'll say it. I thought he had a good game even in the first half. I Love his style of play. But he shouldn't make it to the first team against madrid simply because he's at his best only when we have decent amount of possession. Something which i doubt will happen in the 2nd leg. We played norwich today. Madrid will look to press very hard and even if he's good against such type of players, the others won't be able to keep possession as well as him. He had his chance in the first leg. Now is Nani's turn.

But what a fecking great little player to have. Today we saw some sublime one touch football. Due to which we saw what kagawa could do. He won't be very effective in slow zombie passing games.

1 swallow doesn't make a Summer (or whatever the phrase is) but it's always been clear he had an abundance of talent. Anyone that wrote him off that soon was, frankly, an idiot.

At half time I said he was poor. I'll have to say more players are poor before the Madrid game. Glad I was shut up.

First Japanese player to score 2. Seen it RT'd but I couldn't remember the exact tweet.

Basically we're saying our midfield needs to be stronger to accommodate him

Kagawa has finally arrived. I was amazed how surprised people were by him in the pub I was watching the match at. Anybody who had a clue about him before he arrived would know that he's a class act.

His finishing was immense. Especially the 3rd one.

If he wasn't pencilled in for the Madrid game before today I wonder if SAF will change his mind...

One game, particularly against a poooor Norwich, doesn't maketh the man!

He was quality today though, he's always shown class even in his poorer games and it highlights to me the need for us to accommodate him and players like Rooney, Carrick et al to find his wavelength.

Hopefully he really kicks on and finished the season strongly. Favourite Hat-trick I can remember for a while.

I actually would start him vs. Madrid. Dortmund beat them this year and I though Kagawa looked good in the first leg.

He has that absolute Composure that only really Rooney, RVP and Carrick share in our squad. It's vital because Madrid will dominate the ball and we have to be able to keep it when we get it. Players like Kags who are so comfortable and quick to pass and move are vital in that respect.

I reckon Giggs being left out of the squad will mean he isn't playing, though, his performance could give Fergie food for thought. If he reckons the confidence will push him on, it seems a shame to drop him!

Fantastic performance from Kagawa characterized by intelligent movement and crisp link-up play, both of which were rewarded by an impressive hat-trick.

Was he pregnant?

Well, he did just give birth to triplets.

A front 3 of Rooney/RVP/Kagawa needs a disciplined midfield 3 behind it.

It could work with Rooney dropping into that Scholes role, alongside possibly; Carrick/Cleverley/Nani or Welbeck. Nani pushing forward maybe?

I think he's far better centrally and I hope it's not Kagawa vs Nani for the wide position. I'd rather Kagawa centrally and Nani out wide. Kagawa did ok out wide but it was a breath of fresh air when he went central and broke forward from deep.

Brilliant finishes today.

I see no issues with him starting wide left and drifting in and interchanging with Rooney. It's only when you confine either him or Rooney to that wide left role do they look rubbish

Same old issue arises though, he's better centrally in an advanced position but more often than not you see Rooney in that area.

I think that's why people were so happy we'd signed him prior to the RVP signing, to have Rooney play up top with Kagawa in behind but that fecking bastard RVP came and messed everything up. white text

Looks like he as earned is place against Madrid, deserved on todays showing.

Agreed.

Get Nani on the right and opposition defenders will shit their pants with all the movement and fluidity.

He's a very classy player. Makes things look so easy at time.

Looking forward to seeing him really gel into this team.

Is that so? Shit, it feels like he's scored a bunch. Must be beacuse they're all so similar players Oscar, him and that bearded magoo Mata. How about assists then??

No wait. I mis-calculated. :(

Kagawa has 5 in the League while Hazard has 7. Hazard is way up in the assists charts though. Has 12, while Kagawa only has 2 assists to his name.

We need to report Dortmund to UEFA for fielding an ineligible player then, considering he'd signed for United in the summer...

I think Fergie did not intend to start him against Madrid... but will surely face a dilemma now.

He wasn't good at the Bernabeu to say the least but this will have boosted his confidence. And he's a better footballer than Welbeck or Valencia...

He wasn't that bad against Madrid neither, only for a couple of heavy touches on his chances he could easily have caught them napping. He did a grand job.

Today he was class. Fergies got a tough choice ahead. We'll probably go with Nani to try and keep Madrids back line stretched.
