I wish he featured more, as restricted as he is on the left I prefer him to Young and Welbeck.

I don't like the way his career has begun with us - Fergie doesn't seem to know what to do with him.
Preferring Young to Kagawa is strange, and doesn't bode well for the future. It's easy to forget that Kagawa was on UEFA's best 32 players list last year - Rooney was the only United player who made the list.
I'm not sure a wide role for Kagawa would bode well for the future either... It's just not his role.
Didn't have a good game today even though he scored from what i saw. Was playing very advanced.
He came in, got injured, came back. Its his first season. He is playing behind RVP - the best striker in the league, and Rooney - one of our key players. Give him time.

I did not watch him in his time at Germany, all I have of him are the beautiful youtube videos.
However, when I watch him for us, most of what I see are the easy passes. It is our setup that is hindering him? Or base on his showing today, this is as good as it gets if you say he was brilliant?
He plays "easy" passes because he drifts into space intelligently and creates great angles for simple, effective, progressive passing.
I thought he was really good, if the two wingers were playing better then I think he would have had even greater joy.
He wasn't anywhere near brilliant. Was decent enough and I still maintain he gets shrugged of the ball too easily.
Yeah, it looks easier because he picks the perfect spot to play them from and because he's very intelligent on the pitch. Some of his passes are just played into a free area where a United player is about to arrive, and although it's a rather simple pass it's very effective.
Had a brilliant first half, and set up good chances again and again only for the wingers to feck it up. He needs to start playing well in the second as well though, but that'll happen soon enough. He's a very exciting player and a joy to watch.
Excellent choice of the word I should have used. I will go and watch this game again. There were so many times that I thought his passing were not progressive but rather regressive.
A progressive passer is Scholes. What I have seen of Kawaga right now is he looks for the backwards passes far too often. It may be that the guys around him are not making him shine but the only person who was brilliant in my eyes today was Carrick.
Yeah it's actually delightfully simple the way he positions his body to set up the next pass. He's quality, needs to work on his stamina but I love how nimble and smart he is and I don't want him to lose that.
He's a much more natural number 10 then Rooney. I reckon if we played him there consistently, and let him have a good run in that position, we'd be seeing some fantastic football. There's been plenty of glimpses here and there.

No, but I want to see why anybody will see his performance today as brilliant. I am not in the insulting business and respect the opinions of others so I do my best to see their point as much as possible. I must confess that I watched the game really concentrating on Anderson's movement and I was very bitter that he was not taking a chance against a shitty team to shine. Hiding behind players, not looking for the ball etc, so it is likely I may have missed the intelligence behind Kawaga's passes. However, I did see Carrick's brilliant display

I agree he wasn't brilliant but I think you're looking for something that you're never going to get with Kagawa. He's a combination player, a team player, individualism just isn't part of his game. He helps us play slick football by doing the "easy" things like making himself available for the pass in crowded areas and playing the simple short pass. Him and his team-mates are still adjusting to each others' games but I think he's consistently played well myself. He hasn't been given the chance to play brilliantly because in the vast majority of the games two of the four attackers simply haven't been on their game. He needs other players to play off.
Not sure what you're on about but I remember at least 2 occasions where defenders dispossessed him quite easily.

I know, my comment was just to explain why I will go through the painful ordeal tonight to watch the game again instead of throwing a few caf insults we have when someone has a different opinion from the majority. So it was more about me than your post.
Okay, he isn't the strongest player in our squad, but why do people tend to use this cliché, even in games where he actually isn't shrugged off the ball single time ? Have you actually watched today's game?
He was harrased by N'Diaye in whole first half, he was all over his back, and that bloke really looks strong physhically, yet I haven't seen him disposessing Kagawa one time because he was stronger in duel than him.
Where the feck did I say N'Diaye dispossessed him? I watched the game and he was dispossessed on more than one occasion. It's a cliche because its mostly true and been quite evident since his debut for us.
You didn't, but I used him just as an example, because N'diaye was marking him for most of the game, especially in first half.
Of course he was disspossessed couple of times, every player gets dispossessed, but he wasn't dispossesed because of good old "he is too weak".
Iniesta does not get dispossessedOf course he isn't going to have the physicality of a lot of the other players on the pitch, you can tell that just by looking at his physique. But I don't think this being "shrugged off the ball" is anything to be concerned by. Kagawa's style of play is one where he takes chances with turns and is for lack of phrase a tricky little customer. Yes he might lose the ball occasionally when a much more physical player challenges him, but then if he tried to prevent this happening we wouldn't see the sharp turning that he seems brilliant at.
When Kagawa plays in the middle, he has so much to offer. He causes problems, and he's got the touch and the finish to join the striker. His movement between the lines really is a handful, and he's an excellent retainer and mover of the ball. When he's outwide, he's not the same player. He's still useful, but you just don't get the same influence from him. He's just not a winger.

We need to start playing him for the 90 if we want him to be a true first team player. His lack of gametime is clear - he can't last more than 65 minutes or so.
