Manchester United vs. Manchester City

Fergie will definitely have the team fired up for this. How could they not be after the 6-1 last season? Anyone who thinks differently is either a wum or a mentalist.

This is the Moral Cup final, of course we want to win it, it's the biggest trophy of the season.

De Gea to keep a 7th consecutive clean sheet in the league?

Vidic will be key to that answer but he is out, no?

IIRC Vida and Evans are out, Rooney, Rafael doubtful, wingers out of form, Van Persie and Wellbeck cant score in brothel in the moment. That leaves us with a midfiled of Carrick and Cleverley and i dont have much hope in them coping with Citys midfield.

Sunny Jim lol WTF time for a name change!

People are not worried about this match? I'm already nervous about this and will be much worse tomorrow. A loss would just prolong the title battle even more and we don't want to give City any hope at all. And I'm quite sure we'll have Vidic, Rafael and Rooney fit for this. Win/Draw for me.

Because it is the same attitude we seemed to have carried since Madrid. And getting into rhythm and form isn't like a switch. It takes time. And frankly, we're not there.

I'm excited about it because it's a derby but that's it. The title race is finished regardless of the result which is why there's not that special buzz surrounding the match.

Good video to get people in the mood:

** Warning: contains scenes of the last day of the season! **

I understand why people aren't too worried about this one, its because the title isn't riding on this game. We can lose this and still win the title in April. But at the same time I doubt SAF will allow the players to take it lightly. My slight concern is that since Madrid we've seemed a bit flat, the two games against Chelsea epitomising that... It'll be nice to win this one though and return that feel good factor. If we continue winning games at the rate we have been in the league, people will be forced to stand up and take notice of this underrated squad whether they like it or not!

Haha, no im not all that gloom and doom. Im just realistic about this particular game. :-)

:) I can't wait till tmrw night think it will be tight but think we will not get beat at worst. We are a better team than them no doubt in my mind I just hope Rooney is back as he makes the difference.

This derby may not be as important as we might have suspected at the start of the season, but I'm still very excited about us winning it. Going 18 points clear of City would be wonderful.

Why wouldn't Cleverley and Carrick match City's midfield? Carrick's been better than any of City midfielders this season and Cleverley is at least on par with anyone they got except Toure who has been awfully inconsistent this season.

It's not really a key game or anything, City need to be careful if anything because a loss here would put them in a tricky position regarding top 4 battle - it's a long shot but the way they've been playing this season they could soon find themselves only 2-3 points ahead of Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs with a couple of bad results.

Cleverly has gone off the boil a bit though. Definitely not as sharp as he was the last time we faced City.

To be fair, they've played some nice football recently. They seem to be hitting the form they were showing last season. Lucky for us it's potentially too late.

I hope we dont play to cautious and put Jones into centre midfield. Id prefer us to just go for it like we did at the Etihad, City seem to have trouble with teams who come out and have a go at them.

Don't care about this one really.

Of course I want us to smash the twats, but I'd take a dull 0-0 if offered now.

It's the perfect scenario for us. A chance to guarantee the league, and put them to the sword with no pressure.

Surely noone would prefer last year's scenario. Some people have short memories.

I'd go with:

DDG
Rafael - Rio - Vidic - Evra
Carrick - Cleverley
Welbeck - Rooney - Kagawa
RVP

I think it's important that we attack positively as we did at the Ethiad, and with the likes of Welbeck, Cleverley and Kagawa in there, we have players who will provide us with that bit of energy further forward , as well as being able to cause City problems with the ball.

On a side note, I bought a new toy last week, which will hopefully improve the atmosphere if I decide to bring it.

Perfect line-up. City are no great shakes, and we should be looking to hit them like a runaway freight train. No cautious defensive selections, Jones man-marking jobs or tactical anarchy please Fergie.

City are not going to get sucked into a top 4 battle even if they lose to us. Their away form might be poor but they've only got Spurs as a tough remaining fixture post Derby so I expect them to win almost all their games after tomorrow.

would love to see that except for perhaps Nani in there on the wings but Fergie will most likely go with his big game lineup - He'd love a win but will take a draw.

DDG

Rafael - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Carrick - Jones
Valencia - Rooney - Welbeck
Van Persie

Valencia and Welbeck for their work rate and Jones based on his performance v Chelsea. Cleverley worked hard last game but picked up a yellow and was outshone by Jones so Im going with Jones based on Fergie going on current form. If we are chasing the game we can sub Giggs or Clev on to help push up.

I think we'll see

------------------DDG------------------
Rafael------Rio----------Smalling----Evra
-----------Carrick-----Jones------------
Welbeck------------------------Giggs---
-----------------Kagawa---------------
-------------------RVP-----------------

Yeah I think it will be this line up.....possibly cleverley instead of valencia

If we go out and attack them, they will crumble! Look at Southampton and look at how we played against them in the first half at their place earlier in the season!

They don't have what it takes to absorb the pressure teams give them! A perfect example of this is the CL group stages, where every match, They were attacked from the off and they really had no answer! They are so mentally fragile, it's hard to believe they are champions!

De Gea
Raf-Vida-Rio-Evra
Valencia-Carrick-Cleverley-Welbeck
Kagawa
RVP

Thats what I think we'll go with as I'm also one of the believers that Rooney is as good as gone

It's derby day!!!

My old man said be a City fan,
I said "Bollocks your a cnut!",
"I'd rather shag a bucket with a big hole in it,
Than be a City fan for just one minute".

With hatchets, and hammers,
Stanley knives and spanners,
We'll show those City bastards how to fight,
(how to fight)
"I'd rather shag a bucket with a big hole in it,
Than be a City fan!".
(all together now)

Can't wait!

"Vidic remains a doubt"...or so we are led to believe.

If Vidic is indeed out, it's going to be tough keeping a clean on these fukks. This would be a good occasion for RvP to break out of his funk.

Thankfully this is largely meaningless (as meaningless as derby games ever are). Forgot to book holiday of work tomorrow evening so I'll miss it. My money will be on a draw.

He's just bored with all the clean sheets. He was used to getting Arsenal out of jams and it was the same with United at the start of this season. If it's not dramatic for him he doesn't care. Sell him.

So stoked for this. Can't wait! This is the match of the season. The players will be on fire today, and I think we'll go and really put in some attacking play.

It would be nice to do the double over these feckers! I'm sure the lads will be pupped even though we are 15 points in front.
