Be nice to win. If not its party number 3 anyway.

To be fair I think you're mixture of 1st and 2nd team in the league cup gave us a better game than the first one did in the fa cup, especially in the replay.

Probably had more to do with you lot having a better manager who also wanted it more in the FA Cup.

Losing this could cost us next season's title, so you'd imagine Fergie is smart enough to know not to feck about with random kids in the line-up.

Be interesting to see how Benitez rotates the team with the semi final on Thursday. He might just give the Europa League higher priority like he did for the FA cup.

I really hope we can beat them so we can help Arsenal and Tottenham to Champions League places.

Two weeks ago Webb was demoted to a League One game but now he gets to take charge of this. What a joke.

Useless prick will do his best to give everything to Chelsea just to avoid the usual Webb/United crap.

Was he demoted, or was it just part of the rotation process? Don't the referees have to referee a certain proportion of Premier League and lower league games? He was referee last night in a Champions League semi.

I hope Hernandez plays. Likewise with Kagawa. RVP can have a day off given we don't have a record to break and his golden boot is pretty much won.

At least Webb keeps big games flowing. He bottles a lot of decisions, but I do hate a game that's stopped every minute because of the ref blowing for every little thing.

I don't know what I'd prefer to happen. If Spurs finish 5th, maybe Bale will want to pal up with his hero Giggsy, and eventually take his shirt number. However, it'd be great if Chelsea finished 5th, whilst Eden Hazard looks up to us at what could have been. Hmm.

It's almost impossible now, but it's be grand if Arsenal and Everton occupied 3rd and 4th. It would take some collapse for that to happen though.

And David Moyes gets linked as SAF's replacement again?

No thanks...

For the strength of the league Tottenham need to secure one f the CL places.

Were Arsenal or Chelsea to miss out they'll bounce back either next season or the one after, if Spurs fall short and lose players they could be back to scrapping for the Europa League for at least that long.

I assume what he means is that it strengthens Chelsea's claim for CL football next season which undoubtedly puts them in a stronger position with regards to a replacement manager and acquiring better players.

Chelsea will be a real threat next season if they maintain their CL status and invest this summer.

they will invest this summer regardless and they have a good team already. Plus if Jose is coming back he will comeback regardless.

Agree with this. Every ref out there fecks up almost constantly these days. It's the nature of fast-paced, slow-motion-review modern football. But at least Webb doesn't waste half the game getting his face on the camera.

He doesn't tend to needlessly back himself into a corner by dishing out yellow cards as if they're going out of fashion either.

This is a pretty huge game for Chelsea. Lose this and fail to beat Spurs, then they're under so much pressure. They might not be able to sign the players they want if they're not in the Champions League. They have to get 4 points from us and Spurs. Obviously the Spurs game is bigger, since as long as Chelsea get 1 point from us and Spurs they will stay ahead of them as long as they win their other games. However, their last game is against Everton after what will be a tough time against Benfica in the Europa League Final (an away trip to Villa who may still need points is no walk in the park now either).

Admittedly Spurs have to go away to Stoke, but they've had a poor season and are safe now anyway. Their home games are pretty much bankers, so they'll be hoping for a United win here and have to at least avoid defeat away to Chelsea.

The above poster was right in the sense that if we beat Chelsea here, it has a good chance of costing them the top 4 spot if Arsenal and Spurs don't bottle it. If they're not in the Champions League, they'll be less of a threat next season for sure.

Fergie will go for this with the first team - we can give some other players a chance in the last two games.

The easy home games are where Spurs are most likely to drop points every single year. They just lost to Fulham at WHL last month!

Would fecking love to win this but they've had our number this season, even in the draw and victory, the way they set up and play is like our kryptonite. To win this or at least get the better of them, don't think we should start with a basic 4-4-2.

Spurs beat City for us.

Time for us to repay the favor.

The same Spurs that took four points from us this season? We owe them nothing! And I wouldn't mind us pinching Bale if/when they don't make CL

In all honesty I'd like Chelsea to miss the CL spots more though.

No excuses here, Spurs and Arsenal both ground out wins we need to grind one out tomorrow :nervous:

From our final three games:

9pts - All-time highest points total for United in the Football League

8pts - All-time highest points total for United in the Football League

7ps - All-time highest points total for a 38 game Premier League season; Equal highest points total for United in the Football League.

6pts - Equal highest points total for a 38 game Premier League season

Plus all scenarios of 7pts or higher would set the all time MUFC record for most points per game over a season. The overall PL record is unreachable of course now, but it'd be nice to see the current squad make Manchester United history by breaking club records.

as usual i want us to win all of our games but after chelsea today i just hope to see some of our youngsters for the remaining 2 games. powell, januzaj, vermijl, etc and players like buttner, smalling, anderson, cleverley also need games.

Can we stuff these feckers and give Tottenham and Arsenal a helping hand. Two clubs I like infinitely better than Chelsea.
