Adnan Januzaj

Ya-noo-zay or Ya-noo-zi. The commentators seem to switch between the two.

I still call it exactly as I see it - Jan-yoo-zaj

Yeah I'll stick to Adnan

How do you pronounce his name?

Ya like in Yahoo, nu like in nuts or null, z like in zero and i like in Ireland. I don't know how exactly to write his correct surname punctuation with the weird symbols but it shouldn't be hard from my first sentence to understand it.

More like Yan ooo Zay.

Well, if you can spell the bold letters exactly as they are spelled on the words I mentioned it's definitely the correct spelling. From what I have heard of commentators they are wrong.

So you're saying that all the commentators are saying it wrong and you're pronouncing it right? Because the way you've just pronounced it, I've never heard it said like that.

Exactly. Commentators spell it like Yae-nu-zaey which is wrong. By ae I mean the weird punctuation symbol.

But even Fergie calls him that, except he says it jan rather than Yan. How are you sure they've all got it wrong? The last thing I want to do is be used to saying his name wrong.

I am from the same country as him and the 'Januzaj' surname is pretty common here.

Two days before Ferguson announced his retirement, Januzaj played in the first Barclays U21 Premier League final against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, starring in a side which came from 2-0 down to win 3-2. Januzaj is slight, but he won headers against a much bigger opponent, Spurs’ captain Grant Hall, in his role as a lone striker. It’s his technique, his eye for a forward pass which sets him apart and the Catalan interest made United improve the terms for a player they signed from Anderlecht two years ago.
From the article. Hopefully that means he has signed a new contract.

There are issues with his contract too? WTF are we doing at youth level.

Huh? There are no issues with anyone's contracts. If a young doesnt want to stick around to challenge for a first team spot, there is feck all we can do about it. And its always been that way.

Before 18 they can only sign contracts of up to 2 years as I understand it. Hence why he only has a year left on his contract. Its a bit of a recurring theme in the top siges (as the Andy Mitten article states) that the top youngsters are quite likely to move to the top team that needs their attributes now rather than wait for a spot in their current team. It's harder than ever to break through from youth teams.

Possibly the thing I'm looking to the most is seeing Januzaj on the preseason tour.

Agreed. It's a beautiful accident that Valencia, Young and Nani are all staying at home, and Kagawa won't be there at first. Means Zaha, Januzaj and Lingard will all get some serious playing time, rather than having to steal a few minutes here and there or be crammed into unfamiliar positions.

That's the drawback of having a huge squad. Even when the youth players get a chance in the league cup or fa cup they are usually playing out of position. Can't wait to see him play with the senior team

Yeah, you normally see them with fringe players as well so will be a completely new experience for the youngsters to be playing in a strong team.

It's such a huge jump between the U21s and the first team, I'm keeping my expectations low. If he can handle the speed of the offense and not look out of place I'll be delighted.

With his control, he'll be even able to produce some chances.

Definitely looks to have bulked up a bit. Will be fantastic to see him have a good tour and hopefully have a few cameo appearances during the season.

What's his best position then lads? I've heard a few conflicting things. Is he another that likes this fashionable #10 role?

He's good at #10, but for me he's one of those who's slightly better coming in from a slightly wider position. Think Silva.

I'm going hazard a guess that he will get 10 first team appearances this season in all competitions. Could be more if he really excels on tour.
