Swansea City vs. Manchester United

This thread is a disgrace.

2-0 up at a ground where not many teams will get 3 points and have looked far more dangerous than Swansea. Delighted so far

Don't think anyone isn't delighted with the score. Which posters have said that?

Giggs and Cleverley have been criticised but apart from that nothing's been said.

Giggs has been good. He and Carrick are the only players who can make time for themselves on the ball. That thinking time they create for themselves result in key passes

I agree. I don't blame GIggs for trying, at least there might come things off in the end. Better than keeping it simple everytime, in every situation.

Me too, beyond my best hopes do be 2 up at half time.

We are in an age when some fans are not happy unless everything is perfect and we have entertained for the entire game.

And people are calling Giggs' performance shocking:lol::rolleyes:

Deflected pass or not Giggs is trying to make things happen and he's been involved in most our good play as a result. Just like when you take a shot, get a big deflection and it goes in, you don't then disregard what they player did, he took the chance and it paid off.

Looking quite similar to recent years for us, we're still playing quite spread out making it harder to deal with pressure and suffering because of people not tracing their wingers coming inside but when we settle we can make things happen and have had a few other attempts we should have scored from.

An assist is an assist but people are making it a genius lob pass assist which it isnt, it is a deflection.

Can't understand those who aren't baffled how, even under new management, Giggs is still first choice for us? Nothing to do with today's game either..

Anyway, we're in control since we went 1 up, and we had all the best chances before that anyway, despite them out passing us a bit. Some great defensive work from crosses from our boys so far.

Little worried we're gonna have someone sent off. I'd get Anderson on personally, though there's no need to write Cleverley off after the first 45 minutes of the season, some people are unbelievably harsh on here.

Leave him to it, there is always someone in these threads who criticise the thread, without actually reading it, and then act like they're the only one who is pleased with the performance.

It's like when Rooney plays that role. Just due to where he plays he will "try to make things happen" and be "involved". That's the point of the role. It doesn't make the performance itself good.

True but then that's the point of these players, they might not have a great game but they make something happen. I wouldn't say giggs has been poor at all personally, played some sloppy stuff but much less so then Jones and Rio and probably better than Clev. Swansea played well.

Many posters on here don't like the performance and hence are conveying what they felt about the performance. So not a disgrace. May be they are too negative and are actually wrong....but still that is what they feel. We have some sensitive bunch really.

Thoughts so far...

I hate the Sky studio haha tried to copy BT and failed.

As for the game, I don't think we started badly as the commentary team and Jamie seemed to make out. Sure, Swansea were good on the ball but we more than weathered it. We had the better chances all game and then we upped the pace and hit them hard. Impressed so far, but a little worried about the red getting card happy. Might have to take off Valencia and Cleverley, definitely get Anderson on at some point to hopefully bolster the midfield some.

Also, while I'd love a big win, I get £230 if it stays like this! Happy right now though.

Swansea don't deserve to be losing this, we have been fairly poor, if clinical. It might as well be a SAF side from last year!

utter rubbish, we scored one cracking goal and another typical strikers goal, just because they created a few chances, they never took them and we did, how does that mean that don't deserve to be losing, of course they do.

As united supporters yes we are spoilt so we comment on things which would improve us. It's natural to look for how we could improve so highlighting cleverlys inabilities was to be expected. I'm sure everyone is delighted with how things are looking right now, but we like to look long term at what could harm us.

Very generous guesswork.

We have a lot of people posting in these threads who let themselves down and the site. I'd ban anyone who suggested Giggs retire and a 30 day ban for those who asked to sub Welbeck.

Maybe a bit far, but the sentiment can't be argued with.

I mean, we're two up at half time against a team who will probably finish top half, and our next run of fixtures reads like Kenny fecking Dalglish decided them - they are so bad that even the Premier League had to get in touch and say "Ah listen lads, I swear to God it's just the way the computer spat it out..."

Surely today, of all days, a win is enough?

Worth remembering Swansea are a decent team who've looked in excellent shape coming into this game.

I think it's been a good performance over all.

Jones and Evra look way off the pace and we're far too slow trying to play out from the back, but think back to the mess of a performance at this time last year. This is far better. We look solid and are picking them off quite well.

Carrick's been good. Van PErsie and Welbeck excellent. Giggs needs to stop trying to prove how clever he is every time the ball comes near him.

Don't think Cleverley's been nearly as bad as some seem to be making out. Bigges mistake was the yellow card which was actually Welbeck and Evra's fault.

Valencia's cruising too.

Quoting this for truth.

It's been a good performance. Hardly deserving of the criticism received on here

Shelvey is soooooo shit. Why did Laudrup sign a player of his profile? Swansea are a ball playing.team and thug is not a good passer of the ball at all.

Think this is just personal dislike for him/liverpool (understandable)

He's not bad at all and his passing has been at the least decent today.
