Liverpool vs. Man United

Of all the big matches Utd play each season, the trip to Anfield is the one I hate to watch the most.

This. Just want to get it out of the way. Horrible atmosphere.

Edit: I expect Valencia & Welbeck to play. Their work-rate and tracking back is superb.

And scored a massive 2 goals whilst being lucky not to have conceded themselves. They're a decent side, they play pretty football at time but we should be massive favourites in this.

I wouldnt say massive favourites because those cnuts will treat this as a cup final but we should come away with something.
Can see it being similar to last nights game but hopefully we can nick a goal

I won't be surprised to see us perform better than in any of the last 5 seasons under Ferguson to be honest, Liverpool always seemed like the team he couldn't quite figure out tactically. Even in the 2-1 win last season we were far from impressive while playing against 10 men for a large chunk of the game. Moyes, while being generally unable to beat them, usually had his Everton side perform reasonably well against them and we need to consider the fact that he usually had a weaker team to put out there.

I hope we won't go into the game with too cautious attitude. I'd be happy with the same team that played yesterday, I think it'd be good enough to break down and contain Liverpool. They won two games but weren't really particularly good in either of them, with a bit of luck we can beat them.

Cunto, you dick. Damo was giving us good luck. If we lose this it's all your fault. Ban him.

we're clearly the better side and should have too much for them, however we rarely play well at anfield and they'll run their hearts out against us at home as usual.
if we're professional about it and look to strangle the game early on we should be able to wear them down and win out in the end. if we get caught up in the atmosphere and give them any encouragement we could be in for a long afternoon though, they'll be a lot more aggressive than chelsea or swansea were and we'll need to match that.
go with the same team as last night, 3 strikers is a must as their backline is their weakspot and despite the wankfest i dont think mignolet is all that myself so pummel him crosses/shots and theres a mistake waiting to happen i reckon.
think a score draw is most likely

This is the team that started or us at Anfield last season:
-----Lindegaard-----
Rafael---Rio----Evans----Evra
-----Carrick ----Giggs-----
Valencia----Kagawa----Nani
-----RvP-----

Subs: DDG Anderson Chicharito Welbeck Scholes Cleverley Büttner

Scholes came on at half time for Nani, and late subs in the 81st and 89th minute were Welbeck for Kagawa and Chicharito for Rafael.

Looking at how well Delph did I think Anderson might start this one.

Christ, I hope so. Yes we've only played Stoke & Villa but they're both games we would have probably finished 1-1 last season. We've shown a resilience while not hitting anywhere near top gear. Two on-nil wins while not playing as well as we will is something we have complimented you guys on for years. But it will mean nothing if we go out and lose to yourselves and Swansea, who are also due a win. So I'm not getting ahead of myself at all, no matter what you all like to think about Liverpool fans. One game at a time.

It'll be a tough game on Sunday but obviously I fancy us to turn you over. Sturridge is on fire - 11 in 13 I think without checking, and since the turn of the year we have a very good record. You boys will obviously be up for it and with RVP being the goal machine that he is there will always be a danger.

My prediction/hope 2-1.

Its purely down to his pace and what that could bring us in that central area.

Lucas and Gerard are vulnerable in that sense.

Try putting your thoughts into words ghaliboy as I've no idea what your query is with that.

Liverpool have a 100% record so far... have they actually been good in their matches so far?

I do worry that Coutinho in seasons to come will be a potentially world class player.

I think he is dumbfounded that you have confused one season where United and especially Cantona rattled off about a dozen 1-0 wins with the rest of the yeers in the premier league. The saying is one nil to the Arsenal not one nil to United. You cannot seriously suggest that Fergies United has a rep within dipperland for 1-0 wins?

We generally seem to reserve our worst performances for Anfield

It was merely a compliment that for years United have had a habit of winning while not playing to their full potential. You could struggle to perform in games but still came away with the victory.

I think you've read too much into the "one-nils"

So no I wasn't suggesting that but well done for throwing a compliment back in my face & your petty insults.

Insults? Where? Anyway two one nil wins at start of the season against two teams that struggled mightily last year does not equate to eeking out one nil wins on a title winning run. If Liverpool were capable of being a title competing side then yes your post would make sense but they arent so it doesnt.

Oh FFS. Where on earth have I said anything about a "title winning run". More fool me for thinking I could come in here for some decent pre-match conversation.

Oh and is "Dipperland" not an insult?

Back to the General for me.

I think he has a point tbf. He never said "its gona be our year" or anything like that.

Those 2 matches wouldnt have got them 6 points under their 2 previous managers. Nothing wrong with pointing that out.

Hopefully we'll actually be able to field our first choice keeper and centre backs for once.
De Gea, Vidic and Ferdinand is looking a good unit.

Can we please just turn up there and perform for once? I'm sick of underwhelming performances there, despite the three points last season.

I'd glean a lot of satisfaction of going there and wiping the floor with them, what with the Brentball they play and all.

Agreed, you actually complimented United also! Dear me.

Completely agree with you, Ramshock is a bit of a dick.

I hate this bloody fixture, especially at Anfield. It always has my nerves up to 100. I'd go for:

--------------DDG-----------------
Jones------Rio-----Vidic-------Evra
-------------Carrick---------------
Zaha---Rooney----Kagawa---Young
------------Van Persie-------------

Subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Buttner, Anderson, Cleverley, Valencia, Welbeck.
What is that?

1 central midfielder away to Liverpool?

For me there is really no difference between 4141 and 433. On attack Young and Zaha would be pushing up with Persie, and on defense they stay wide and track the full backs. Either way on defense it's a 451, and Carrick, Rooney and Kagawa would be a central midfield 3 for all intents and purposes.

 Oh really? What is it then tic tac toe? Shut your fecking pie hole I dont even know who you are

See the 'Ozil' thread, to which you responded to my 4-2-3-1 stating that I'm 'some gimp' who uses stupid or silly formations with players that we won't attain... Who am I? Read the name you tard, sorry I don't spend my every waking minute on the CAF to be one of 'Ramshock's recognized posters'.

Tool

I agree, too much emphasis is put on a formation in terms of whether it's attacking or defending, the same formation filled out with different players and different mentalities would be quite different in reality..
