Shinji Kagawa

It does genuinely annoy me how little we seem to play him. Even if it's not his preferred position, he's still better at everything Tom Cleverley does than Tom Cleverley. Except perhaps looking like Tom Cleverley.

That is however the best thing that Buttner does.

i would like to see both kagawa and rooney is the same starting line up. kagawa plays on the left as well for japan because honda gets the more central role if i am not mistaken here. given that evra is a more attacking left back now under moyes, kagawa should be able to move inside when evra attacks. and he can also exchange positions with rooney as a match goes on, should be no problem with that.

the reason why kagawa is not playing now because he is not at his best form at the moment. he starts his pre season training 2 or 3 weeks late than his teammates, and his performances in those pre season friendlies doesn't help much either. with welbeck's good form at the moment and rooney returning to full fitness, plus our next few fixtures are very tough, i don't think we will see much of shiji over the next few weeks. but i hope we will see much more of him later on.

Old Trafford in the ocean is a magnificent touch. It's always the little touches that I love about Footballers at the Movies. Kudos.

I doubt we will see anything of him in the next few weeks.....a pitiful 15-20 mins here and there perhaps. It's a ridiculous waste of time and I totally agree with Klopp's sentiment, a manager incidentally who gets the absolute best out of his players. Moyes seems to prefer Welbeck and after everything, Wayne Rooney. Fair enough with Danny after a good start to the season, although creatively he was poor against Chelsea....but I would actually rather see Kagawa playing off Van Persie for a change. I'm fecking sick and tired of seeing Wayne Rooney being pandered by the club. We signed this guy from what he offered to an exciting Dortmund side, then proceeded to waste his talents out of position, or substitute him when he was playing well.....see West Ham away.

If United want to join the playmaker club then fecking well commit to him. Give him a sustained run in behind Van Persie and back him. Back the guy who doesn't spend the summer flirting with Jose Mourinho, back the guy who openly admits he had a disappointing season and wants to do better. If Kagawa is wasted at United it will send out a message to other true creative talents that their time could ultimately be better spent elsewhere.

Why he wasn't introduced on Monday night is beyond me. Our play was crying out for some true craft in the final third and instead Moyes went with the old Ferguson favourite....introduce Giggs who preceded to gift every ball he played to the Chelsea backline, or run into those little blind alleys as he often does. I love Giggs but for christ sake see what is happening in front of you. There were a few in the crowd who couldn't believe Kagawa didn't come on.

He's behind the rest of the squad in terms of fitness, and we have a very tough start to the season. Moyes didn't want to throw him in at the deep end against Chelsea and he's not likely to want to do it at Anfield. I don't see why he can't come off the bench though.

Exactly. I'm fecking flabbergasted at the treatment of Kagawa. Look at his Dortmund firm and compare that to the form of the likes of Valencia, Giggs, Welbeck, Cleverley etc. in the meantime, who've all been selected pretty much game after game.

It's embarrassing.

srsly?

How do we know what his match fitness is like at present? In terms of minutes on the pitch, disruption to pre-season, there wasn't prior to the Chelea match much difference between him and the likes of Young or Rooney for example.

I don't personally agree with him not appearing as a sub on Monday although i suspect that was down to Moyes' preference/tactics, the next month or two shall reveal whether it is part of a trend rather than specific to this stage in the season.

rvp
kagawa-rooney-nani
----CM----carrick
-baines---rest of the defense and goalie
rooney and kagawa can drift in and out. Chicha, Welbeck, Young(zaha when he comes good) on the bench.
That is a very good team/line-up.
if we can have nani and kagawa fit for a good stretch of games, and we play them in those games. the system mentioned above will work very well.

Embarrassed and flabbergasted ehh ? Get a fecking grip.

He's too small and tricky for Moyes, who has always valued power and "grit" over technical ability, hence the interest in Fellaini. Hell, Tim Cahill and Duncan Ferguson were two of his best ever players ffs.

I'd argue that he was never really able to bring in players with the technical ability of someone like Kagawa. Arteta for example was his best technical player and he built his whole team around him.

Perhaps some are underestimating the technical ability of Pienaar. Kagawa is much better of course, but their style of play is very similar, and Pienaar was an integral part of Moyes' team. He's a very technical player who is given alot of creative freedom, often roaming from the left of the attack. I don't think there is any reason why Kagawa can't be used in the same way.

I'm not feeling embarrassed about it though. We're only 2 games in. Kagawa had a busy summer of varying levels of fitness. I think he will be eased back in. It must be difficult for Moyes to drop Welbeck though, even if he doesn't bring too many goals, purely because of what you get from him in terms of effort.

How do people come to these absurd conclusions only two games into the season?

Well, I'm also basing by hypothesis on the ten years he spent at Everton, hence mentioning Cahill and Ferguson...

Ferguson was never signed by Moyes and although he was a big figure at the club he was mainly used from the bench by Moyes.

He was nowhere near one of his best players ever at Everton.

As for "tricky" players - Arteta, Pienaar, Coleman, Miralles etc...

Apparently Atletico have made an offer. If Moyes doesn't plan to use him or wants to play him exclusively out of position then I reckon it'll be best for all parts if we just let him go.

He should go back to Dortmund then.

Also a good idea, if they want him. He was at his absolute best there and just like Sahin he cannot go back to this sort of form in new environment. I know it's early days but Moyes hasn't even tried to use him in the league in a game that he could have seriously impacted so it doesn't look too rosey

WTF? How are you writing him off already?

People think we should sell?

Crazy, If we are playing three am then we will need him, plus he is second only to Rooney in our squad for these positions.

Last season he was played mostly on the left, this season Moyes hasn't even given him a chance. I'm not sure what's the reason for that but if he doesn't intend to use him more in the coming months then I simply think that he'd be better off elsewhere. He's a great player and deserves to be a first team player somewhere.

If Moyes sees future for him other than on the bench then he should stay though, he's easily good enough for United.

We've played 3 games and he's barely had a preseason.

Jesus titty fecking christ.

He's in the same position as Mata at Chelsea and people have been saying that he should consider a move too. It's not really just about this season, we didn't use him all that much, especially in his best position, last season either.
