Very disappointed in him not getting into the team, but I must say I'd sacrifice him for Gundogan in an instant.

It's been a prevailing view in the thread although i don't know whether it is because people no longer think that Rooney could play there as he once did, or rather that he would refuse to do so.
I think most would like to see him behind the striker however the likelyhood is we won't see it very often because we have Rooney.
Tbh they would interchange a lot during the game so strictly saying he would play on the left on Rooney through the middle wouldnt be right, but yeah chances are that he would be shifted more to the left.
They would interchange when attacking. However when defending the shape is very clear and whomever is playing on the left would have the responsibility of tracking the runner.
What I'm saying is, realistically if Kagawa wants to impose himself on this side and force his way into the first team it will be on the left. This has drawn many Peinaar comparisons.... and the conversation has done full circle 
I see your point and I agree. He isnt that good in that role defensively. But I don't know why Rooney wouldnt be able to do that job, especially defensively.
I honestly don't think he's got the appetite for that kind of role anymore.
I'd hand in a transfer request if I were him. Barely gotten a look in since he came here, and often played out of position. What a waste.

I've received a lot of abuse for being a hopeless Kagawa fanboy, so there's no doubt that I like the player.
Still, I'm not gonna lose my cool just yet. Even if Moyes chose to exclude Kagawa from today's game, that doesn't mean that Kagawa is 100% match fit. Like I mentioned earlier in this thread: Moyes is particularly strict when it comes to fitness, and he's definitely gonna protect his players from getting "burned out" early in the season, if he believes that there's a genuine opportunity for this happening. Moyes has made a lot of interesting comments lately, also concerning Kagawa. I think that the most important comment is the one that people have chosen to ignore, namely the comment where he clearly says that Kagawa will feature in the up-coming games. Not this season, or even the near future. Moyes strikes me as a man who keeps his word, so it wont be long before Kagawa starts appearing in the starting XIs, slowly but surely. Maybe we're trying a new tactic this season? Last season Kagawa was thrown into the deep end and started pretty much every PL game for us until he got injured. This time, maybe we want to make sure that he's 100% ready, and then ease him into the team so that he can keep up the form he had in the last 25-30% of last season.
We've all seen what Kagawa can do. And if we can see it so easily, then so can Moyes. Let's give it some time, shall we? After all, we've had 3 incredibly rough games in a row now. There's still 35 games to go, with the vast majority of them being significantly easier than these games have been.

I would have left out Nani or TonyV for a fit Kagawa, thought he was missing due fitness/injury issue at first but this really was a strange move from Moyes.
Giggs should never have played. He was completely out of place in a game of that pace and intensity. I'd have started drunk giraffe instead of him.

Starting to get worried that Shinji is not allowed now. Moyes is being quite cautious early doors and I hope it doesn't continue too long. Not only is Shinji not getting game time but the pre-season momentum for the likes of Lingard, Januzaj, Fabio and Zaha has also been killed.
Yeah but for this master plan to work we need players who can lump to our own team mates. Rio thinks were playing pong most of the time.
