He looked about 10 times better than Anderson. Not sure if this is a reflection on Fellaini or Anderson. But he did well.

One might say it was an easy game to play in but he did everything he could well. Added a lot of balance to our team. Quick thinker too.

Soon as he came in we moved up a level, decent debut I'm looking forward to seeing more of him this season.

He'll be an instant first teamer once he's up to speed fitness wise. The character and maturity he has on the ball, the way he carries it forward.. feck me it felt good to just see a competent proper midfielder for once.

He controlled the ball, made few good tackles and won some headers... His shot outside the box was difficult for Speroni and it could lead to goal. This is just the start of his adventure here.

Yep, he looks like a proper player with a good mentality. He will be a big influence on the side, more so than Anderson or Cleverley have ever been.

He showed that he has a presence about him that I reckon will be of a huge importance to us.

People will eventually realise he has much better feet and a much better touch than he's given credit for.

He pretty much instantly showed what he offers to United.
They thought he's just a bit lump with elbows.
Couldn't recall any erratic touches or passes when he was on, so that's always a plus for a CM. Good shot on him too.

Obviously a very easy debut, but he did what he could with it. As long as we're not expecting him to ping passes around like Carrick I don't think it'll be possible to be disappointed with Fellaini this season. He'll provide extra freedom for Carrick, obviously, but there's a lot of difference in what the wing players (or full-backs, even) can commit to with Fellaini there as opposed to Cleverley, Anderson or Giggs.

He wasnt even half as effective as his Everton games this season which is dissappointing but completely understandable given he needs to adapt to a new team and is probably why he didnt start. When even Anderson starts in front of him, it does suggest he's going to need a week or two to get used to his new teammates.

OR....Anderson clearly started as we have 4 games in 12 games, with this being the most comfortable of them?
Fellaini came on, did everything with zero fuss, and was generally very tidy.
At this point I dont buy any excuses for Anderson starting. Since we're so keen to give Giggs gametime, thats the perfect time for him to play not Anderson. And not Giggs as a second striker
