Surprised he's on the bench. Thought they'd be itching to get him straight in, especially against a relegation candidate managed by an absolute loon.

Reminds me of the Arsenal fans who genuinely posted "flop" when Van Persie didn't score on his debut.
At least they waited for him to play before writing him off!

Yeah, but you want to give someone like Anderson hope he is not being shoved out completely. We may need him.

It could turn out to be a very good decision from Moyes. Anderson knows he's a lot of competitions on his hands now, he must perform.

Good start to his United career. Some nice touches and passes.

Did anyone notice Carrick's tears of happiness when he saw a proper midfield partner coming on?

He looked about 10 times better than Anderson. Not sure if this is a reflection on Fellaini or Anderson. But he did well.

Noticed it also allowed Carrick to move forward which he seemed to enjoy.

Very easy circumstances when he came on but he did look very good.

Pretty much flawless performance when he came on. We looked another team when Fellaini and Januzaj played.
This.

One might say it was an easy game to play in but he did everything he could well. Added a lot of balance to our team. Quick thinker too.

Soon as he came in we moved up a level, decent debut I'm looking forward to seeing more of him this season.

He'll be an instant first teamer once he's up to speed fitness wise. The character and maturity he has on the ball, the way he carries it forward.. feck me it felt good to just see a competent proper midfielder for once.

Nice easy start for him. Didn't look overawed at all. Will be a very effective player.

He controlled the ball, made few good tackles and won some headers... His shot outside the box was difficult for Speroni and it could lead to goal. This is just the start of his adventure here.

Very happy to have him in this team.

Yep, he looks like a proper player with a good mentality. He will be a big influence on the side, more so than Anderson or Cleverley have ever been.

He gave a good account of himself there today, sprayed a few nice passes around the middle and final third and that long range pass where he switched it from the left over to the right to Valencia was impressive enough too as was bullying Chamakh off the ball and winning a free on the left hand side. He showed that he has a presence about him that I reckon will be of a huge importance to us.

He won 90% of the headers he was in for, going to give us a fantastic new dimension.

Obviously a very easy debut, but he did what he could with it. As long as we're not expecting him to ping passes around like Carrick I don't think it'll be possible to be disappointed with Fellaini this season. He'll provide extra freedom for Carrick, obviously, but there's a lot of difference in what the wing players (or full-backs, even) can commit to with Fellaini there as opposed to Cleverley, Anderson or Giggs.

I said Fellaini would be a good signing from the start, and while I'm still not happy with the transfer window at least it wasn't as big a disaster as it could have been.

Won headers from goal kicks. He wasnt even half as effective as his Everton games this season which is dissappointing but completely understandable given he needs to adapt to a new team and is probably why he didnt start. When even Anderson starts in front of him, it does suggest he's going to need a week or two to get used to his new teammates.

When he came on it did look like the redcafe plan of pushing Carrick forward with Fellaini sitting deeper, which is a bit worrying. He looks like a £12 million player when he's that far away from the opponents box and we're putting crosses in and he's not even trying to get in there.

OR....Anderson clearly started as we have 4 games in 12 games, with this being the most comfortable of them?

Fellaini came on, did everything with zero fuss, and was generally very tidy.

At this point I dont buy any excuses for Anderson starting. Since we're so keen to give Giggs gametime, thats the perfect time for him to play not Anderson. And not Giggs as a second striker

He did well but Palace were terrible.

Why would anyone be surprised that he has a good touch and can keep possession? That's half the reason why we bought him for feck sake. Are there people who actually think Everton only used him as a target man?
