Cider is right, Leverkusen are clearly miles behind the top two. They finished close to Dortmund last year (who had a disapponting domestic campaign) but didn't have the Champions League to contend with, unlike Dortmund who went all the way to the last. Benfica comfortably dealt with them in the Europa League round of 32, which probably indicates their current standing.
It was a good win against a good side but there are a lot of people getting wildly carried away as if we are suddenly a completely changed team who are going to rip everyone to shreds. Last season the competition was poor in the group stages, this year the standard is higher and that should encourage better performances from the players. We used to swat away teams like Leverkusen for fun in Europe it shouldn't be a cause for OTT celebrations. The best part for me was seeing the relief in Moyes' face and the schoolboy smile he maintained in his post-match comments. Big moment for him.
I'm not getting carried away until I see how we do against City, Liverpool and Shaktar. Plenty of big games coming up where the standard has to be maintained.

It would have been Forlan's first goal for United.

I have a weird feeling Moyes would start Giggs or Giggs would start himself as he's now a player/coach. If Giggs starts, the best we can hope for is a draw. If Giggs does not take part then i expect us to win 3-2 or 2-1.
All over the United forum, lots of examples of people getting a bit too excited over what was in all honesty a result we all should expect. Nothing wrong with enjoying a result and performance of course, people can say what they like. Just feel some are getting a bit carried away with themselves.

I know man, the 2-2 at Old Trafford killed us really, Ballack their architect. Thought Keane might drive us on in Germany but we couldn't capitalise after taking the lead. Think you're right about Van Nistelrooy.
I truly feel we would have beaten that Real side in the final. I still feel they were less than the sum of their parts. Without Zidane they were merely good. We had an amazing team that year that saved their best performances for Europe. I believe it was assembled to provide Ferguson with the Champions League in his (what was at the time believed to be) final year as manager. The league wasn't the priority that season.
