Whatever he is, what he isn't is a player to unlock an eight man defence sitting deep. It's not his game.

That part where he jogged behind the wba player on our right whilst jones tried hard to rob him was hilarious

That and the incident when he decided to suddenly leave his man and start running forward when one of our CBs was competing for an aerial ball which subsequently fell to the man fellaini was previously marking who blasted wide. Insanely poor play on both occasions.

I don't see any urgency from him to get the ball back. He was jogging last week, whilst the City players were running past him.

 His performance was woeful because he would have touched the ball a sum total of 5 times. Once with his hand and the other was offside

Not his fault today, obviously, but he looks a really, really poor signing. Also, being annoyed to see a United-player come on is never enjoyable.

Dunno why he came on. It's not like we decided to lump up the ball to him either. He just came on and did feck all

Too early to judge him, and definitely not by coming on as a sub. I know the type of player we obviously thought he could be, but he isn't showing that quality yet. He looks slow, lumbering and not effective enough in that role.

Today he escapes the blame. But if he can't impose himself on these games as a starter, then he'll struggle to meet our expectations.

Carrick was poor today too, but Felliani made us took away what Anderson did provide on the attack without offering any solidity.

We got lucky with Baines but Felliani could well be on his way to being 'Young II'

I've just decided I'm good enough to be a football manager. I can spot the talent if I see one. With Fellaini it was obvious from the beginning that will not improve us just offer some sort of a back up for Carrick.

What did ye actually expect from Fellaini? He'll be decent once he settles in, but he was never going to be more than that. Ye've only yourselves to blame if you expected him to massively improve our team, it's an unfair expectation to place on him too.

He cost more than Yaya Toure or Silva. That creates a certain expectation.

It shouldn't though, at least if you have half a brain. We all know we overpaid for Fellaini, we all know he isn't worth near that much. The price we paid is a result of our fecked up transfer window, it in no way reflects his actual value. Most people on the caf didn't even think he was worth the 23m release clause at the start of the summer, so why would we suddenly trick ourselves into thinking he's top class?

Fellaini is a good player just not the kind of player we needed unless Moyes converts us into another Everton which by the way he is doing a mighty good job of at the moment.

It's funny really. We're so short in midfield that, despite paying £27m, we can't say that we'd be better off without him can we? I don't like him, but at the very least he's another squad option. If the transfer window was still open I'd say that he is hindering us, as he could be stopping us getting another midfielder, but at the moment we're stuck with what we've got.

I've faith in him, for no reason at all, but I think he'll come good for us. Has only really had two games so far. What I fear though is that he may be used as a #10 if we are chasing games. That was my only worry when we were signing him, and it seems to be coming true. Should never have been brought on today. While Anderson wasn't very good, Buttner needed to be replaced.

I agree with you, considering we also have three losses and have been playing shite. Oh wait...

Most people wanted Fellaini to 'break up the play'. Jones will be more effective in the games where we need it.

He looks what he really is. A limited player that while is better than Cleverley/Anderson, isn't good enough to be a United player and don's solve any of our problems.

That's the thing, he'd be fine if he was just a squad option but we're so weak that we actually need him as a first team player. That isn't really his fault but I think it will lead to a lot of people getting frustrated with him, especially at the price we paid. Thing is, we still need to replace Scholes, Fletcher, Anderson and Giggs so our signing him shouldn't stop us strengthening further.

Why was he brought on? That sub was baffling. Cleverley would have offered far more in this situation. He's not the man to send on in midfield when we're struggling to create chances....

His passing isn't good enough to be back up for Carrick. For all the criticism Cleverley gets on this forum Fellaini's passing is even more safe.

He will turn into a quality signing though to get the best out of him we will need to move with the times and go 433 although this doesn't suit Rooney and this is the problem for us, how to she horn Rooney into a 433 with RVP up top.

He meant Moyes' Everton, not your current manager's :wenger:

Well we were second top at this stage last season, a point ahead of you with one loss compared to two. You have one more loss than you had at this stage last season!

All least Cleverley has quick feet. Fellaini slows everything down.
