Manchester United vs. Everton

Not holding out a lot of hope for this game in terms of getting full points. Really hoping to see some fire from the team, like a team really lookign to get a PL result, that has been missing all season.

Everton might shade possession, but I think we'll create the better chances. We should win.

We will need to win every other December League Game (with the Spurs game deservedly drawn) to have a good shot at winning the Premier League this season. However, even if we draw this game tonight, and win every other game in December, I think we'll be very much in contention for a title challenge and finish in at least the Top 3 again, so it might not be the disaster everyone thinks it is if we slip up tonight. But what it would mean to me at least, is that we need to be winning every other game this season against the other Top 7 standard clubs... We've beaten Arsenal at Old Trafford, but we've drawn to Chelsea at Home, Spurs Away, and lost City and Liverpool Away. Drawing with Everton as well would mean only one great result out of the six against the best teams in the League other than us. That isn't good enough for us and serious questions would have to be asked about Moyes and the team in the big games. Win tonight and those thoughts are brushed aside for a while. Everton have only lost one game (so fewest defeats in the League), so this will be a big game and a massive result if we can win it. Say what you will about Everton's chances of winning anything or finishing 4th, but they're very difficult to beat and will have a big say in the title race.

Tough call to make on the centre halves today. Lukaku has the potential to bully Evans so I'd be tempted to take him out, but who else is there? If Jones was available and the Jones-Smalling partnership had been tried out a bit more often this season I'd have been tempted to go with that. You think Vidic's presence in there could be crucial but then Lukaku's main weapon is his threat in behind. Evans has that issue about backing off too much and allowing forwards to motor towards goal too, which Lukaku's fairly decent at.

It's a sad day when you're more worried about what their striker will do to you than what ours will do to them.

Rooney will score, more than Lukaku too hopefully!

Has to be Vidic and Evans for me, you raise some good points but I'm sick of the chopping and changing, those two seem like our best pair so let's persevere with them. Fellaini will need to have a blinder.

Is Rafael Fit? If so he should start. Everton will not lump it into the box like they were under Moyes so we don't need and extra centreback playing at rightback.

The fact he was on the bench on Sunday makes me hopeful that he should be fit for tonight.

Do we know if van Persie is fit for this? I'm assuming there's no chance that Carrick might have made a speedy recovery?

Rather see Jones and Anderson in midfield - they at least are more proactive than the dead horse that is Fellaini and Cleverley.

Janujaz and or Nani must start. Rafael must start also.

Please no Welbeck / Kagawa Left side.

If Kagawa plays it must be behind Rooney.

Fellaini wouldn't get into their midfield with martinez there. He doesn't get into Uniteds midfield either though, but comparing the options available, they have a better midfield for this game. They also have confident midfielders which make a huge difference.
We have a better midfield, clearly. In the centre Carrick is far better than anything they have. And Cleverley and Anderson struggle at a club like united but definitely wouldn't at Everton. Them we have giggs who on his day is again miles ahead of anything and Everton player can produce. In wide areas in misfiled too, were comfortably ahead.

However, their cohesion, fluidity and style of play right now is superior. Much of that comes from martinzez' good coaching this far.

As much chance of Javi Martinez starting for us tonight as there is Jones.

Vidic/Evans for sure, Vidic will eat Lukaku if he tries to get too physical

Rafael going forward and putting pressure on Baines will stop one of their main outlets for attacks.with Rafa in the side, Baines won't risk playing so far forward and it's his delivery into the box that could hurt us most.Lukaku on form is quite a player but did anyone see him against Spurs this season?? He was fecking useless! I'd have Vidic on him and that should be enough.

Yeah. Rafael and Valencia down the right should be more than enough to cope with the left side.

I'm saying the option for this game. Both Jones and Carrick, our best midfielders, are out for this game, so that's why they have a better midfield available for this game. Not arguing that full strength we're better obviously, we just have no depth.

Baines is injured.

Of all the things to worry about that shouldn't be one of them. Our strikers are better than Lukaku.

I hope we don't do the following:

1) Play Fellaini and Cleverly - one or the other not both.
2) Welbeck or Kagawa left wing
3) Smalling at rightback

We should win if we don't hamstring ourselves with a poor lineup.

It's weird, I'm actually not expecting us to win this, but it feels nice. It'll be more rewarding if the lads do rise to the occasion and put in a great performance. I suppose these next two home games are a big test for Moyes, seeing as we've drawn our last two.

I'm sure it's been asks but is this being televised?
