Has Moyes ever played a team with every player in their best position?

feck i love midweek football

the game start at 16.45 here, followed by a nice BBQ, to celebrate with friends (or forget in alcohol)...

Im glad Rafael is playing. I would like to see maybe Januzaj instead of Welbeck, but feck it, good luck boys!!

no prediction this time as ive been shit of lately. Give it all lads!!!

Our strongest side apart from Oviedo but hopefully he can build on the Stoke performance. Really big game for people like Barkley and Lukaku, to show they can perform on the biggest stage.

I'm a bit relieved Deulofeu isn't starting, he could've potentially torn Evra a new one, especially after his game last week. It'll be a tight game though, we're stronger everywhere on the park but the middle really, and you lot are full of confidence.

The Leverkusen game... arguably. He certainly picked the best players available to him in each position that day at least.

At least we have options on the bench to turn the game around. First sub around the 80th minute mark then.

Hopefully won't come to having to turn the game around but, if it does come to that I expect that 80th minute is when the subs will start warming up and with the ball not going out of play - will be more like 87th minute before they come on to get us a goal or two.

I know it's a forum (we're supposed to debate, vent, blah blah blah), but feck me, get over yourselves and support the team. Come on United!

I'd rather have Mirallas and Pienaar out wide than Valencia and Welbeck tbh, and i think Mirallas can do as much damage to Evra as Deulofeu, he will be able to tire him for him!

You do know that Giggs is a winger and Jones is a defender, don't you? but you just have the need to moan I guess.

You're consistent.

I phrased it wrongly.. and maybe a bit too harsh but that isn't top half material, and hardly mid table. Individually, Valencia is a very good player, Giggs on his day can do anything, and then there's the other two. As a group? They don't suit each other well at all.

Fellaini is nailed on to score a header, put money on it.

How was I moaning when stating that he picked out best available players for each position that day? Giggs and Jones were out of position a bit but I'd have done the exact same lineup and if I recall we were all pleased with the lineup that day. That's hardly having a moan.

I'm not to disappointed to see Welbeck playing. The link up play between him, Kagawa, Rooney and Giggs should be good and allows Kagawa to pick up central positions.

Fellaini and Giggs is about the best we can get without Jones and Carrick and Cleverley playing Sunday.

Badly need a win and a good performance from several players.

I meant forwards and defenders when I was saying it to be fair, but Valencia and Welbeck isn't too much worse then your pair. A lot less creativity though.

People complaining about Welbeck on the wing.....You lot do realise he's there as he does great defensive work and if your beloved Patrice Evra was bothering his arse trying to defend instead of either going missing or been turned inside out by Aaron fecking Lennon, Welbeck wouldn't be there!!

 such a bunch of fecking drama queens in here. the midfield is similar to many weve played loads of times and won in recent years. some of the comments are beyond reason. its obviously not great for a top side but not top 10? worst in decades? take a reality check, we had a midfield not long back with miller and djemba, and i remember giggs starting in the centre before he had even adapted to playing there, alongside o'shea with fletcher and richardson on the wings! is life not harder when youre so bloody hysterical??

valencia, on his game is one of the better right wingers in the league. fellaini, like it or not is a very good player that just hasnt clicked here yet and hes partnered by giggs who put in our best midfield performance of the week last year. kagawa is a brilliant player and would feature alot in most teams anywhere and welbeck, if he even plays down the left has done well there before.

Welbeck doesn't really tract back all that often. He's a hard worker but he isn't very good defensively so that doesn't hold up. He did nothing defensively against Spurs. Nani is much better in all aspects out there, and is in better form, so there's no reason for him not to play.

I'm going to start using the underrating of Danny Welbeck as a feckwit test.

I'm one of Welbeck's biggest fans on here, I'm constantly defending him.But he's not a winger.

Exactly.

Anyway hoping Danny scores a few to shut the people here.

Yes, on occasion he didn't it's fair to say but it seems like every team currently has a player playing out of position, it just seems a bit odd. Either he doesn't trust some of the squad or he is trying to accommodate certain players. I'm probably reading to much into it.

True, however you could argue Smalling and a Jones where playing out of position, it is fair to say that those players had to be picked there due to injuries/ suspensions.
Maybe it's showing that our squad isn't as deep or as good as we thought.

Welbeck out wide? Especially after the performance against Spurs? Not a big fan of that one to be honest.

Yeah that's wrong.

Danny's workrate, defensive work is much superior to Nani. Obviously that shouldn't be how a Man United winger should be picked but let's not make up facts here.

Smalling - Vidic combo, we'll have difficulties sending the ball on Everton pitch, especially considering our midfield. I would have preferree Evans here.

Rafael returning is great though I am not sure that Welbeck should have started instead of Nani/Januzaj. Hopefully Kagawa will be as No.10 and not in the left wing.

True this.

Evra got his arse done by Lennon despite Welbeck being there.

Does anybody think Moyes thought for a while that Nani was defensive so he played him and then he found out he could dribble so he instantly benched him?

The only player really playing out of position is Welbeck (assuming he starts left) but it's a position he's played probably more then as a striker.

Need to win this.

Just hoping that Valencia can play like he used to. The Everton LB area is there for the taking. Come on United!

Thompson: Its a bit weird how Moyes went to go meet Fergie when he was at Everton still
Le Tissier: To be fair, he didn't know why he was meeting him
Thompson: Yeah but he knew when he left

What a fecking idiot
