Sunderland vs. Manchester United

Looks a spot on line up with the front 2 and Nani out.

Hopefully playing a bit more like a United team tonight.

Outside of the strikers that is arguably Moyes first choice line-up.

Jones would probably make the XI somewhere if he was fit. I'd also like to think that Nani might start ahead of Valencia more regularly if he was fit, but that's probably wishful thinking on my part.

Valencia and Cleverley have managed to retain their places through two abject defeats... I'm not sure what message that sends out.

Who does he replace Valencia with? Its a semi final and the other options are either injured or in Zaha's case not yet ready for this level of game.

Is Valencia undroppable for Moyes? He has't really performed and deserves to sit on the bench for a couple games. Might be the kick up the arse he needs

I'd rather see:

Carrick Giggs
Valencia Cleverley Januzaj
Welbeck

Rather than:

Carrick Cleverley
Valencia Giggs Januzaj
Welbeck

Zaha, Kagawa, Giggs (with Hernandez - who scored and needs a run of games) up front perhaps?

We haven't seen enough of Zaha to suggest he's good or not. We have definitely seen enough of Valencia. Who else does Zaha need to f*** to get a game!?

Good to see rafael back. Can't help but feel that we should try and rest welbeck of their are doubts on Rooney and RVP. Hernandez probs could have started this one. Really hope we don't have to play him and januzaj for the whole game.

I wouldn't want Hernandez up front on his own.

suggesting Zaha starts in the semifinal of only trophy we in reality have a chance of winning is mental considering how few games he has played and that he is possibly going to be loaned.

What's he doing here then? Hasn't started a game all season, and we've seen him play about 20 minutes. Valencia can play shocking most weeks but doesn't have to worry about his place. What precedent does that set to the players?

I'm glad Valencia is playing, I'm in the mood for some ball on thigh action tonight.

Our definitions of mental vastly differ...

Sure, I would like to see Zaha get more games, I would rather see him start games than Valencia but its the semi final, he has hardly played all season. I would prefer Zaha but in this game, our only realistic chance at a trophy its just not even remotely smart to start him.

Can't say I like that line-up. Rafael back is fantastic yeah, but too many below-par players in there... Valencia? He has done nothing in two years and still won't be dropped. Cleverley? Evra? Giggs? I really do not look forward to the type of football we're going to play here, because the only bright sparks will be Rafael, Adnan and of course Welbeck. The back four will be deep due to Vidic's lack of pace, Cleverley will be invisible as usual, Carrick still rusty and I really, really can't see what Giggs is going to offer after being abysmal in his last few appearances. He might be decent today, who knows, but I think it's time to phase him out, even out of the League Cup. What's the point of Zaha? Lingard? He has done well on loan, won't do him any harm starting here.

I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see anything but another very poor performance.

Valencia, the man who can't be dropped.

In fairness with Nani and Young injured, I don't see an alternative. Kagawa's the only alternative and he's been as disappointing as Valencia.

Carrick and Rafael back is a big boost. Team looks okay.

Not sure why there's so many complaints over a Cleverley-Carrick-Giggs midfield. It's not like it's remotely negative. What other options do we have? We're still phasing Fletcher back in. Kagawa's done nothing impressive recently himself. I think we'll see some goals myself.

fecking every time with Valencia. He's undroppable. Absolutely undroppable.

Delighted to see Giggs in the side. Wouldn't thought I'd be saying that again this season. He is still one of the best in that side.
