Sunderland vs. Manchester United

At least the rate Pimpy is going in the demote thread, no-one will have to put up with him in these threads again.

Cleverley is no better than the likes of Tunnicliffe, Norwood and other lads that have come through our academy.

The problem with Cleverley is that Ferguson raves about him. The amount of times Fergie gave interviews outlining the talented youngsters we have who have world-class potential and he'd lob Cleverley's name in there with De Gea, Rafael, Jones, Welbeck, etc.

It truly is a wonder of the modern world.

Our mediocrity is embarrassing. How many average teams have we played without looking the slightest bit better? Fergie bears a heavy responsibility for this - it happened on his watch.

You've been fine in this game - ridiculous you're behind. Fully expect it to be turned round in the second half.

Can't see where the goals come from unless we get a lucky break like Sunderland or Januzaj does the business against them again.

I don't like to completely turn on a player, but Antonio Valencia is just not good enough for United.

Januzaj looked really really good on the bright side. Really making things click. Everyone else was a bit average though. Well apart from Clev and Carrick. They were wank.

Moyes had clearly got a Cleverly love in. His play in midfield just slows us down totally. Anderson, Fletcher or Kagawa are better options at the minute.

How often do we concede goals toward the end of halves these days? It would appear that the opposition can always be confident of picking us off and nicking a goal.

Jones for all his inexperience would probably be having a go at the players around him, we do miss a vocal and assertive influence on the pitch like that.

Januzaj is by far our best player so far imo. He can not be that much better than all the others. So, enthusiasm, confidence and joy of football must be the difference. If so, what causes this?
One would think that all our players should have the basis for this. Hmm?

Ayeeeeeeeeeeeeee... Where did we finish with this average bunch last season? It's amazing how this crap bunch of Sunderland players look better under new management.

Am I the only who doesn't even get annoyed anymore? This has become quite the norm now.

Yeah we really fcked up on Fergies watch.

Only 5 titles out of the last 7 he contested and one of the two he lost was in the last kick of the season.

For feck sake lads cheer up we are still in this , the movement has been shite though it's so easy for teams to defend against welbeck is not leading the line as he should be but because the service has been woeful , he is coming to get the ball , Valencia is like a rabbit in headlights he's been well and truly Sussed , second half c'mon let's have em

If half the team show the energy and actually try to create something the way Januzaj does, looking for the ball, taking responsibility, we'd walk this.

I'm genuinely not all that arsed to go back into the sitting room to watch the second half. I'll just leave the volume on and pop in if anything of note happens. We're not an entertaining football team.

The scary thing is - I don't really care anymore. I was furious after the Spurs-game, annoyed after the Swansea-game ... and now...no real emotions.

I have started to accept mediocrity

Very good post.

You've not been watching how things have been going for us recently, have you? Every match is an action replay of the last. You can consider yourself very unlucky that your lot were the one team we actually didn't give a sucker-punch goal away to and then shit ourselves.

Moyes had clearly got a Cleverly love in. His play in midfield just slows us down totally. Anderson, Fletcher or Kagawa are better options at the minute.

As soon as the space is closed down ahead of him even by the smallest bit he'll just turn around and pass it to a defender then hide away like he wants to play no part in the move.

Jones for all his inexperience would probably be having a go at the players around him, we do miss a vocal and assertive influence on the pitch like that.

He bollocked senior professionals on his team as an 18-year-old when we trounced Blackburn 7-1 a few seasons ago.

He has it in him, and yes, you're right: we do miss him dearly in the midfield.

Na im pretty much emotionless to our games... I used to not be able to keep still!! Now you could easilythink i was in a comma

Januzaj looks the most likely to make something happen, very slow and ponderous in midfield though from Carrick and Cleverley, I'm not totally sure where Giggs is meant to be playing. Neither side created much of note in that first half in fairness.
