Worst transfer we have ever made. A very overpriced player who is not good enough to play for us and he's never even fit anyway.
Jezus give him a chance atleast....
I have seen plenty of him at the Belgium national squad, he has got more than enough quality to be a good player for us. First of all he needs to get fully fit before he can actually go on a serious run of games. He needs to be played in an appropiate way, not sure using him as the deepest man in a two man midfield is his best role, he is used to play in a 3 man midfield in the Belgian national squad and also at Standard Luik, he never was the deepest man there but was used in a more hybrid role (defensive aswell as offensive). At Everton he has played as the deepest man aswell as an attacking midfielder and he did great there, so in fact he may be more versatile than alot of people think. Also give the guy some time, he has played 6 games in a United team that doesn't work at all and is coached by Moyes who is still finding his way, hardly enough time to settle in wouldn't you say. On top of that he has never been entirely fit whilst here. He has been carrying a whrist injurry and sustained a back injurry. Whilst giving him time to heal from the back, the club decided to have the suggery for the whrist at the same time, which explains why he has been out for such a long time.
I think it is very unfortunate for team and player that he has sustained a groin injurry right before he was getting back to full fitness and could actually make his comeback in the team. We actually could really use him atm, looking at our mifield options.
I find it baffling the amount of unfair criticism he is getting. We have overpaid to get him, that is for sure, but that is down to Moyes and Woodward waiting too long to get the deal done, they could have done it a month earlier and they would have paid £6m less. He has been very unfortunate in his first season here, not playing for months due to a set of injurries. But for gods sake give him a minimum of respect like we give to all players, he needs to get a fair chance just like everybody. Calling him our worst transfer ever, while he has't even played more than 6 games so far is just embarrasing to be honest...
Bébé who just made his first transfer to professional football (he was playing in the homeless cup before that) to a team that was playing in the third division in Portugal, on whom we did no scouting whatsoever and just bought out of blind faith in Quieroz and spend £7m is a far worse transfer than Fellaini.
Berbatov who is our second most expensive signing coming from Tottenham for £30m is also an example of a transfer that is worse. Lazy fecker is no more than a midtable player.
Anderson and Nani that have completley failed and for whom we overpaid aswell and wasted years hoping they would realise their potential are worse signings than Fellaini as far as I'am concerned.
Veron, Djemba Djemba are also transfers that turned to be absolute flops.
Brininging in Owen from Newcastle, spending a fortune on Hargreaves who was more injurred than fit....
There are plenty of examples of transfers that are or could be seen as worse than Fellaini. When the guy gets to full fitness and has been given a fair chance (1 or 2 more seasons beyond this year) and the sitation about him hasn't changed, then yes he could be seen as one of the worst transfers ever. We are far from that, he has played 6 fecking games, be patient with him, support him like the rest of the team and give him time and a minimum of respect. He might even end up surprising you in the end. I have far more confidence in Fellaini than I ever had in the fat lazy brazilian Anderson (whom has been here for 6 years !). Atleast Fellaini isn't know to have such a history with injurries (this year will be a one of) and he is actually knowsn to train hard and work hard for the team he plays for, and I have seen alot more of him at Everton and at the Belgium national team than I have ever seen from Anderson or from Cleverley for that matter. Just give it time, and stop being so impossibly negative towards Fellaini, its really unfair !
