Arsenal vs. Manchester United

Arsenal are going to be a bit less crap than us and will still overturn us easily. Can see them winning by three clear goals, with our genius manager playing Young and Valencia as defensive wingers. Gooners are quite good at beating midtable this season, and that's what we are.

Would be typical wouldn't it? Drop points to Stoke and Fulham, then beat Arsenal. You just know it's going to happen...

We should be going 3 in midfield for this (yes, this does mean shifting Rooney out wide)... if we try 2 in their against Arsenal we'll get overrun.

Still, I think we'll get hammered regardless.

I expect we'll go with the following team

Chesney
Sagna Mert Kos Gibbs
Arteta Wilshere
Rosicky Ozil Cazorla
Giroud

The absence of Flamini and Ramsey as options is hurting us big time. So I'd actually not mind if we went for a midfield three with Arteta sitting and Rosicky and Wilshere in front of him. The issue become playing Santi and Ozil on the flanks then, and we could be vulnerable then. Which is why I think he's going to go with the above to try and negate your threat on the wings.

Just cross the ball every chance we get no doubt. Cant wait.

What I hope for -

------------------De Gea--------------------
Rafael---Evans---Jones---Evra
---------Carrick--Fletcher---------
Januzaj-----Mata--------Kagawa
-------------Rooney/RvP-------------

What we'll get -

----------------De Gea--------------------
Rafael---Evans---Smalling---Evra
Valencia--Carrick--Jones--Mata
------------------Rooney----------------
-------------------RvP---------------------

Wouldn't mind keeping Ox in the team personally.

Weird feeling that we might nick it.

Turning point of the season for us.

I also have a feeling we might win this, however I very, very, much doubt it will be a turning point in the season. It will just be one of those surprise results midtable sides pull off against the top teams, like Norwich against Shitty.

Same team as against Liverpool then? I do agree though, Chamberlain was one of the few who was still fighting for something in the Pool debacle.

Would you bench Ozil, btw?

Considering they're the players you'd want and expect a reaction from, is that necceserily a bad thing? It'd be different if they were on a bad run of form... but that did come out of the blue a little bit.

I'm genuinely worried you'll spank us.

We havent' looked particularly fluent, even though we've eked out some excellent results. So I'd be shocked if we did.

Pace on the wings has always worried me with our current defensive setup, so your cross cross cross cross game might actually pay dividends. Also, that fecker Mata has never had a bad game against us, ditto RvP.

But Mertesacker is excellent in the air - and generally excellent at defending crosses. I don't think we'd get any joy out of him... unless we start putting in lower balls.

It'd be great to see RVP grabbing a goal at the Emirates... but then, I can just see you lot beating us 4 or 5 - 0 and the subsequent goading of RVP that will follow...

If our approach against Arsenal is basically crosscrosscrosscrosscross again, say we put in 50 crosses, so falling short of our personal best but still a sterling effort on the crossing front all things considered, and Fellaini plays in an advanced role and manages to get on the end of one of them and we win the game 1-0, how will people feel about that? In the good column, 3 points. In the bad column, more of the same, tactically and evidence that this is what Moyes has in mind for Fellaini.

Are people feeling at this stage like points on the board / morale boosting wins against big teams are the most important thing, or would you rather see us try and transition to a more slick passing game even if we, say, draw the game - a good, exciting, very dignified 3-3 draw away to Arse?

I think Man Utd will win. Come on you Reds!

We all banged on about Arsenal's mentality and bottle jobbing around this time of year. Well the time of year has arrived and we got the ball rolling, no reason Man Utd can't continue. Moyes needs this victory.

I actually think this will be Moyes' first game in starting with Mata, RVP, Rooney and Januzaj.

I'm nuts.

This x1000000000000000000

Even under Fergie, it always happened...You could bet your house on it.

Example, 2004. We end Arsenal's unbeaten run. The week before it we drop easy points, the week after we drop easy points

:( Just imagine if we had beaten Fulham and Stoke, and then win tomorrow with the rare momentum we'd have.

Could be....3 points behind Liverpool (ignoring their result vs Fulham).

If Arsenal lost to us, can you imagine? It'd genuinely be hilarious. You'd love to see us knick a scrappy one goal win and for Moyes to harp on about his tactical know-how during the post match interview. Purely for the laugh.

But in all seriousness, we'll lose by two.

Said to my Arsenal supporting mate, I'd piss myself laughing if we get a scrappy goal from a corner in the first ten mins and then defend it for the rest of the match....It would be hilarious

Do a Fulham on it, it genuinely would be hilarious.

Arse can go top if they beat us tomorrow.

In days past, Evra would give one of his men vs boys speeches. C'mon Patrice, you know it makes sense, rouse the troops!

Hhhmmm, lose to Arsenal, beat Liverpool and City at home, gift the title to the non-threatening Gooner's?

No idea why, but I'm confident about us winning this game.
