Does Gerry Armstrong really have to say 'Kevin' every time he opens his mouth?

Shit. Thought Ronny was suspended ?

In La Liga, he's got two more games of his ban to run.

Nacho on for Ramos (who was a yellow card away from a ban for the final)

I'm a bit surprised Ancelotti left Ronaldo on, he could easily turn that first half yellow into a red in the second. Though I guess with Ronaldo having to miss three games this month, he might not be that enthusiastic about being subbed off.

The wheels have fallen off at Atletico in the past week or so. An excellent first XI but a thin squad in terms of quality in key positions their undoing.
Well, they are playing against Real Madrid with a 2nd XI. What did anyone really expect tonight? The loss at the weekend was worrying however, and they seem to be picking up a lot of injuries. If they have their usual back 5 fit then they are ok.

Zubikarai with a Buffon-esque double save. Vela hit the post with a stunner too. Messi still missing sitters. :wenger:

Sexy Sergio combines with Chory who plays a great ball to Griezmann who scores a bullet.

Ten Cate not afraid to tell it like he feels... says he feels Barça won't win anything this season. I'd have to agree that possibility is very real. Perhaps Neymar's return can kickstart that faltering engine again, but they've got some real issues of tactical (balance) and psychological (eagerness, will to win) nature by the looks of it.

Real Madrid look like the best team in Spain on current form. They have improved as the season went on and are much better offensively and defensively now.

Reminds me of the Rijkaard era after Ten Cate left actually. Tata has them playing like a counter attacking side and they're just not equipped to play that way. Absolutely lackluster and far from the Barcelona I've known for 6 years now, tiki taka looks dead

To be fair, I thought they played quite well tonight, created a lot of chances and just didn't have that clinical touch in their attempts and sometimes the final ball. Messi didn't even get out of 1st gear for much of the game and still could've had a brace and a couple of assists. The problem to me seemed that La Real could pretty much break at will at times and if not for their poor controls/touches they could've made it a lot closer... I'd imagine RM taking their chances if presented to them this way. Tiki taka as a (near) uncounterable weapon died after the 2011 CL Final, IMO. At the highest level anyway. The problem is that apart from Messi there's just a lot of build-up and no end product nowadays; so going to a more direct style makes sense in that respect, but there are some serious trade-offs which compromise the team's balance with, ironically, midfield being the origin of these troubles (well, that and the notion of playing Dani Alves and Jordi Alba at the same time). They just can't cover all that extra space anymore like they used to.
