Olympiakos vs. Manchester United

I'm most annoyed about Cleverley over Fellaini to be honest.

He's probably not fit enough to play 2 games in 3 days. He's been our for three months and injured on and off for the best part of six months.

Adrian Chiles makes me want to vomit. Surely it's time for an ad break already.

In 90% of the cases there is a natural CB on the bench just in case something happens. If some of the senior players are not available we should put in young one.

why stop at Valencia, let's put Carrick at CB and Rooney in midfield like against Stoke...

Honestly I'd rather see Smalling pushed to CB and Valencia to RB than throw an inexperienced youngster into central defence away from home in Europe in an atmosphere like this.

Nani is out and Kagawa has not played in a month due to being less than good.

So, his performances really justified him not being played a single a minute for five weeks despite being fit? I´m the first who admits that he is in a lot of ways a shadow of his former self, but in no shape or form was he that bad. His last EPL match vs. Swansea was actually quite good and in the Sunderland fixture he was not worse than the average.

Brian Kerr is an idiot. "Scrappy win against Fulham during the weekend"

Back 4 pretty experienced apart from Smalling he says. Dixon failing to mention that Smalling is now the best defender in that back 4.

Please. Both have had more chances but they've all been pretty equally shit and ineffective. Only difference being Valencia has more minutes then any outfield player after evra and young plays very often when fit as well. Give kagawa or nani the chances they've had and both of them would play better then they've shown simply because they are more talented players.
Kagawa has started more games than Young. Nice myth though.

With a bit of luck we'll keep it tight and maybe score a goal, hopefully not concede too many and we will have a twitchy arse second leg back at Old Trafford

My prediction:

1-1 tonight.

2-2 Old Trafford.

That would probably sum our season up to be fair.

I am hoping we can grab a goal or two on the counter, we have loads of work rate in the side. Let's wait and see how good these lot actually are first :nervous:

Mark Lawrence thinks RVP wants to leave.

If being less than good was a criteria for being dropped, Valencia wouldnt be starting tonight. I'm all for accepting that Kagawa hasnt set the stage on fire but has Valencia? Young?

Who would you have dropped ? Mata or Rooney ?

Won 4 drawn 2, how on earth is me saying he's had a grasp on Europe taking it too far?

Because we had two good games, two crappy ones and two which were OK. Nothing special. It shouldn't be like 20 years ago when playing in Europe was so different to playing in the league. Us doing OK in this group should be a given, even with an experienced manager who hasn't had many matches in Europe.

Valencia's played double the minutes of the other 2 and has got chance after chance. Kagawa hasnt had the same number of opportunities. What's surprising is that he actually has been good in the CL and tonight's a CL tie.
Let's see how this pans out. I think there'll be a good reason why this team has been picked. We don't really know their full backs, or how they play.

I'd much prefer Carrick at CB than some 17 year old from the academy.

I'd rather play players in their positions rather than put in experienced players out of position. It's very rare not to see CB on the bench, even inexperienced one.

Yup. Fwiw, I think we'l sneak a 1 goal victory.

With Mata signed and Rooney and RVP back, then yeah, that's where he is in the pecking order. All three have suddenly become available and they walk into the side every time. Welbeck, who has had a better season than Kagawa has had the exact same problem since they have returned as he has hardly featured. Ditto, Hernandez.

I wish something would hit Chiles and get him off TV.

Would love it if Keanes fist hit Chiles. Would not be surprised either, the way Keane looks at him sometimes...well if it was me I would be shitting myself.

Mark Lawrence thinks RVP wants to leave.

He's been peddling that one for months since he said it and the same day Van Persie spoke of how happy he was here.

It's hardly like Fergie set the world alight in the group stages either. All I'm saying is he's managed to get the results in Europe and I'm not going to pass judgement on the team until we see how the game is going.

I've not once said we've been excellent but Moyes has clearly had a grasp on these games, 14 points from a European group is a good result.

Its a European away. Why are people moaning?
It is supposed to be boring where we defend and try to nick a goal..
Anything better would be a bonus

Moyes - "We need to play compact and be hard to score against"

Boring game incoming with lots of defensive play, grab a goal on the break maybe.

Fergie's one and only trouble in the group matches was simply not taking them seriously enough. Moyes hasn't done that. Problem solved.

He wants to be hard to play against. David moyes for you ladies and gentlemen. The sooner this clown is gone, the better.

Sorry you keep peddling that crap but we were excellent against Leverkusen who in that game needed to beat us to keep their chances alive. It was away from home against the team who were 2nd in the bundesliga at the time. That was an excellent performance.

Park the bus talk before a ball is even kicked. Hopefully the players prove that to be wrong though.

It's far too sensible to watch a game before deciding how people have performed.
